Chapter 822 Teddy's Double Standards
Molly's excitement had faded a bit. "Why?"
"Because we all think Sebastian's heart has always been with you."
"But we were so young back then."
Vera sat alone on a nearby bench, watching a father and son play in the distance. She said, "Sebastian is really devoted. The most important thing is that he hasn't hurt you all these years."
Molly propped her face up with her hands, excitedly saying, "Vera, guess what? Sebastian and I have been sleeping in separate rooms for a while now!"
Vera's eyes lit up. "Oh, spill the tea!"
Molly said, "Sebastian had an ex and didn't tell me about it. So, as punishment, I made him sleep in a separate room for a while. Vera, you have no idea how empowering it feels... Vera, what are you looking at?"
Vera was eyeing Patrick's cool and handsome figure, pondering, "Molly, why doesn't Patrick have an ex for me to catch him with?" That way, she would have a reason to be mad and make Patrick sleep in a separate room for a couple of days.
Molly was speechless. "Don't worry, I'll make sure to tell Patrick what you just said."
Vera looked at her phone camera. "And don't worry, I'll tell Sebastian what you said this morning about loving him."
Molly asked, "Are we trying to destroy each other?"
Vera replied, "Haven't we always?"
After chatting for a while, Vera got too cold, her hands tucked inside her coat. "Let's continue back at the hotel."
They hung up, and Vera slowly waved her arms, taking small steps on the slippery snow-covered path, resembling a moving polar bear.
A "little penguin" lay in the snow, looking at the pitch-black sky, kicking his little feet, and calling out to Patrick, "Ah. Crawl, daddy."
Snowflakes dotted Patrick's shoes, some melting into tiny water spots. He wanted to take a picture of Teddy, but his photography skills were terrible, and he couldn't get a good shot. "Vera, come over here and take a picture of Teddy."
"Honey, catch me."
As Vera approached Patrick, she made a small leap, gliding lightly on the ground like she was ice skating. She spread her arms, and Patrick reached out, catching Vera as she flew towards him.
Vera laughed joyfully, standing on tiptoe and puckering her lips.
Patrick chuckled, bending down.
In the snowy night, under the streetlights, on the quiet road, a couple embraced and kissed, their shadows stretching long on the ground, with their child lying nearby.
Since their marriage, even though they spent every day together, Patrick's heart always fluttered when he saw Vera.
Every day, Vera was different.
Teddy lay on the ground, watching his parents kiss right next to him, feeling momentarily unnecessary.
Daddy had asked Mommy to take a picture of him, but now they were hugging and kissing.
Teddy was puzzled.
Back home, in Zandonick.
Molly lay in bed, feeling like she had forgotten something. Suddenly, she sat up. "Wait, why did Scott go to the police station?"
At the hotel.
Marigold knocked on the door, and Scott opened it.
"Busy day for the officer, huh?"
Marigold stepped inside. "What did you say to Molly today?"
Scott closed the door, his tone casual. "She plans to divorce Sebastian because of your past with him. Marigold, your presence here is messing with their marriage."
Marigold turned back, shocked. "Divorce? No way!"
Scott said, "But don't worry, I've calmed her down for now. I still suggest you leave soon, so the person you love doesn't end up unhappy."
Marigold asked, "Did you tell Molly about my past with Sebastian, prompting her to secretly investigate me?"
"It wasn't me. I only officially met Molly today." Scott leaned back on the sofa, looking relaxed. "She found out on her own."
Scott added, "Oh, and just a heads-up, if we get married, stay away from Sebastian and go back home. I can forgive you for this... runaway bride incident."
Marigold stood up. "As long as Spring's whereabouts remain unknown, I won't marry into the Fisher family. I've delivered my message, I'm heading back to the team. I suggest you leave soon and stop bothering me, or you'll be mistaken for a kidnapper again!"
"You know?" Scott's most embarrassing moment, and Marigold already knew?
Marigold looked at Scott's shocked face, probably the most stunned expression he'd ever had. Her petite face instinctively showed a hint of a smile. "Everyone in the team knows. Don't come looking for me, or the police in Skyview City will know too."
She smiled, and Scott leaned back on the sofa, his eyes filled with amusement. "That's more like it. You should smile more. You look beautiful."
Marigold's smile immediately vanished, and she turned to leave.
Scott watched the door close, his smile fading, his expression serious as he stared at the TV wall opposite him. He picked up his phone and called home. "Have you found Spring Walsh's whereabouts?"
"Master, we've checked all the surveillance footage several times, but we haven't found anything."
Scott said, "Send me the footage."
Before the video arrived, Vera's video came first.
Vera was crouching in the snow, late at night, with the family not sleeping. Patrick was in charge of lighting, while Vera crouched down to record a video of Teddy.
Patrick threw snow at Teddy, who cried bitterly: Daddy hit him.
Vera threw snow at their son, and Teddy excitedly waved his limbs: Mommy was playing with him.
When Mommy played, Teddy laughed gleefully, his laughter like silver bells, clear and pleasant.
Scott watched, his mouth involuntarily curling into a smile.
Soon, his subordinate's surveillance footage arrived, and Scott's smile disappeared.
In Zandonick, at the Chase family home.
Early the next morning, Timothy looked at Sebastian, then glanced at their bedroom. "What did you do to get kicked out by Molly?"
Sebastian stretched his neck. "Dad, when you have time, fill Molly's old room with junk too."
Timothy, having been through it, said, "If you fill it with junk, Molly will set up a folding bed for you in the study."
