Chapter 796 Injured Arm

Teddy lay on his stomach, his little mouth soft and sweet, calling out, "Mommy."

Vera was speechless.

She looked down at Patrick, "Honey, let's just go with this for now. I'll be the loving mom for a bit."

With that, she happily climbed over Patrick and hugged Teddy, "Teddy, I love you."

Patrick watched the happy mother and son duo, shaking his head with a smile.

The phone on the nightstand rang, and he answered, "No, we're not asleep yet. Teddy just had a crying fit."

Patrick said, "Alright, I'll check on it for you tomorrow."

After hanging up, Vera asked, "Who was that, calling so late?"

"Scott, asking me to look into something for him." Patrick glanced at the time, "You two have had enough fun. It's time to sleep. Vera, come to my left side, Teddy to my right."

Patrick "forcefully" separated the mother and son.

As Vera hugged Patrick's waist to sleep, she reached out her hand, and Teddy's hand grabbed onto hers.

Patrick played the bad guy and separated them, "Teddy, if you don't sleep, I'll send you to your grandpa. Vera, if you don't sleep, I'll still send Teddy to his grandpa."

Both mother and son were subdued. "Honey, can we go back to Cherry Villa tomorrow?"

"Sure."

The next day, the family of three left, and the couple suddenly returned.

Molly said, "What a coincidence, lately I've been missing not only Sebastian but also Vera and Teddy."

After staying at the Olteran Manor for two days, hoping to see Teddy before leaving, the couple returned to the Chase Manor on the third day, just as Patrick's family returned.

Shawn sighed to Molly, "It really seems like fate is against us."

Later, knowing how much Molly missed her, Vera pushed the stroller past the MS Group during the day and called from downstairs, "I'm here with my nephew, right outside your office."

Molly ran out in high heels within five minutes, "Teddy, my darling."

Molly's enthusiasm almost made Teddy drop the cookie he was holding.

Although outsiders weren't usually allowed inside the company, no one dared to say anything on Molly's turf.

So, Teddy was taken to Molly's workstation.

Vera looked at her desk, admiringly, "If I hadn't had a baby so early, I would have worked at my dad's company too."

Molly said, "How about we switch? I'll stay home and take care of the baby, and you come work for me?"

"Sure, no problem."

Molly said, "Looks like Teddy has really been giving you a hard time."

Soon, many colleagues gathered around, "Molly, whose child is this? So chubby and cute."

Molly held Teddy under his armpits, "Call me auntie."

Someone asked, "The child is adorable, and the clothes are cute too. Where did you get this panda outfit? I want to buy one for my nephew; his little belly would look so round in it."

Vera replied, "You can find it at a baby store. I usually buy Teddy's clothes from physical stores."

Molly asked, "Are you going home tonight?"

"Yes."

"That's good. Sebastian and I miss him so much; we'll both go home tonight."

Vera stayed for a while, "You go back to work. I'll take him home now. See you tonight."

Putting Teddy in the stroller, Teddy, who was used to being held, refused to sit in the stroller and insisted on being held by Vera.

Vera, worried Teddy would disturb others in the company, carried him outside.

Molly noticed Vera's struggle, "Vera, let me walk you out." She took Teddy from Vera.

Downstairs, Teddy still wouldn't fit in the stroller.

Vera managed to squeeze Teddy in, buckled him up, and listened to his crying, "You go back, Molly."

Molly looked at Vera, "How are you getting home?"

"I'll push him for a bit, and if I get tired, I'll take a cab. Go back to work."

Vera said, holding an umbrella, pushing Teddy away from Molly.

After walking for about five minutes, Vera pushed Teddy to a shady spot and sat down, "Stop crying, Mommy's arms hurt, I can't hold you. How about I give you a rice cracker?"

She opened a pack of snacks, ate a piece herself, and handed one to Teddy, fanning him with a small fan, "You say Mom isn't pitiful, but why do I suddenly feel a bit sad now?"

Feeling down, Patrick's call came in.

Seeing Patrick's number, Vera felt a wave of grievance. Listening to Teddy's crying, she quickly fanned him while answering the call, "Hey, honey?"

"Vera, where are you?" Patrick asked gently.

"Playing outside with the baby." Vera looked at the street sign, "At..."

"Stay where you are, I'll be there in ten minutes."

After hanging up, Vera wiped the sweat off Teddy's face and elbows with a wet wipe.

When Patrick arrived, he saw the mother and son sitting by the roadside from a distance, Vera fanning Teddy, occasionally switching arms.

Patrick parked the car by the roadside.

Both mother and son looked up at Patrick walking towards them.

Vera didn't know why she saw concern in Patrick's eyes, and she couldn't help but purse her lips, her mouth turning down, tears falling uncontrollably.

Patrick walked up, hugged Vera, and wiped her tears. "It's okay, I'm here now. Don't cry."

Patrick kissed Vera's forehead.

"Get in the car."

When Vera went to pick up Teddy, Patrick beat her to it, lifting Teddy with one hand.

With the other hand, he put Teddy's stroller in the trunk, then secured Teddy in the car seat.

He opened the car door for Vera, "Vera, I'm taking you somewhere."

"Where?"

Back in the car, Patrick drove straight to the hospital.

"Honey, why are we here?"

Patrick looked at her arm, "How long has your arm been hurting?" Vera often mixed truth with playful complaints, occasionally saying it hurt, and Patrick thought she was just being affectionate, so he didn't take it seriously.

He would often kiss her, thinking it would pass.

Today, Molly suddenly called him, "Patrick, is Vera's arm okay? She was holding Teddy awkwardly, and when Teddy cried his heart out, Vera still put him in the stroller, which isn't like her."

Patrick finally realized she had mentioned the pain many times, and he hadn't noticed.

Taking her to the doctor, Vera was reluctant, "Honey, my arm will be fine after some rest, it's nothing."

Patrick led her in, "Doctor, my wife's arm has been hurting for a while. Can you check if she has a ligament injury?"

The doctor immediately noticed Teddy in Patrick's arms, "Does the patient often hold the child at home?"
