Chapter 784 Staying Up Late is Bad

Vera smiled and gently patted Teddy's bottom. "Teddy's out like a light. Let's scoop him up and head home. You promised him an outing this afternoon, so don't think you can weasel out just 'cause he's too young to remember."

Patrick caught the underlying message. "Alright, I'll take my son's mom out for some fun."

Around noon, Susan was almost off the highway when Molly's call came through. Her voice sounded weak and tired. "Susan, have you left yet?"

Susan replied, "Molly, I'm almost off the highway. Did you just wake up?"

Molly rubbed her eyes and turned over in bed. The room was dim, and she slipped out from under the covers, half-dressed, glancing at the clock on the nightstand. "It's noon! I was supposed to see you off, but I overslept. Sorry, Susan."

"It's no big deal. Just get up and have some lunch. We'll catch up after summer break."

Molly sat up in bed, closed her eyes, and responded, "Okay, let me know when you get home."

After hanging up, Molly wrapped herself in a blanket, covering her chest, and gave Sebastian a nudge. "You were supposed to wake me up at six. It's already noon."

Sebastian replied, "I did try to wake you up, but you didn't budge."

"Impossible. I don't remember any of it."

Sebastian knew Molly's tricks. He pulled out his phone and showed her the videos he had recorded. "I started waking you up at 5:40 and kept trying until 6:30. Here, see for yourself."

The video showed Sebastian holding her, saying, "Molly, time to get up."

"Come on, you need to see Susan off."

Molly, annoyed by the noise, pulled the covers over her head. Soon, Sebastian pulled her out again, gently calling her name.

Despite his efforts, she remained unresponsive, not even opening her eyes.

"Molly, call me 'honey.'"

"Call me 'honey,' and I'll let you sleep."

In her sleep, Molly softly murmured, "Honey."

Then she turned over and continued sleeping.

Sebastian, satisfied, smiled and kissed her, ending the video.

"Sebastian, you're unbelievable. Before we got married, you used to bang pots and pans to wake me up. Now you're all gentle and even trick me into calling you 'honey.' You're such a bad guy."

Sebastian chuckled. "Back then, you were just my sister. Now you're my Molly, and I can't bear to be rough with you."

"If you can't bear it, then why did I end up going to bed at three last night?" Molly hit Sebastian with a pillow, then got out of bed, her legs weak, and changed into her pajamas before heading to the bathroom.

Sebastian laughed, "You stayed up past midnight playing on your phone. Today is an even day, so I was within my rights."

He opened the curtains, flooding the room with light, and followed her into the bathroom to brush their teeth together.

"Susan's not home, Randall's staying out, and Vera and Patrick are at Cherry Villa. I'll be spending more time at the Olteran Manor with my lonely father. If you come home and don't see me, just sleep at the Chase Villa. Don't come looking for me at the Olteran Manor."

Sebastian quickly washed his face. "Let me know when you're coming home, and I'll head over after work."

"Sebastian, can't you sleep without your wife?" Molly was frustrated with how clingy Sebastian was.

Sebastian dried his face with a towel, grinning at Molly. "Nope."

"You're so shameless."

Sebastian pulled her close by the waist. "Want to see what real shamelessness looks like?"

Molly, out of options, threatened, "I'll call Mom, you know!"

Facing her husband, Molly felt like Sebastian was sent by the heavens to keep her in check.

If she scolded him, he punished her.

If she annoyed him, he still punished her.

If she tried to outsmart him, she failed.

If she tried to do something behind his back, he would start interrogating her before she even acted. "Confess now, and I'll be lenient."

Fuming, Molly finished brushing her teeth and tossed her toothbrush aside, heading to the closet to change.

Sebastian, still smiling, rinsed his toothbrush and placed it back in its holder. Looking at their two toothbrushes side by side, he thought they were a perfect match.

When the couple came downstairs, they saw Ellie in the living room.

Ellie said, "Still hibernating? Go back to sleep."

Molly was speechless.

Outside, the sound of cicadas, a hallmark of summer, suddenly felt a bit mocking.

"Let's eat before going back to hibernate," Molly said, showing her thick skin even in front of her parents.

Zoey approached Molly. "Molly, the breakfast we saved for you is gone, and we didn't make lunch for you."

Molly replied, "Then I'll go out to eat."

Ellie called out, "Come back! If you go out now, no one will make you food."

The Chase family maid was about to prepare food for Sebastian and Molly, but Ellie stopped her. "Don't bother. Let them cook for themselves."

The maid said, "Molly can't cook."

"She can't, but Sebastian can. If neither of them can, then they can go hungry."

Sebastian, also scolded by Ellie, took Molly's hand and led her to the kitchen.

Molly told Ellie, "When Sebastian finishes cooking, don't come sniffing around for a taste. I won't let you have any."

In the Chase family, Ellie held the highest status because Timothy doted on Molly.

When Ellie scolded their children, Timothy stayed silent.

Zoey and Max had long stopped worrying about Sebastian and Molly. They just enjoyed their carefree lives.

In the kitchen, Sebastian opened the fridge and asked, "What do you want to eat?"

Molly replied, "Sebastian, make your best dish and make Mom jealous. Let her scold us."

Sebastian took out a piece of pork tenderloin and some vegetables, starting to chop them. "My cooking skills were taught by Mom."

When Ellie was busy, Sebastian took on the responsibility of taking care of Molly. Ellie taught him how to cook, and whenever there were no maids around, Sebastian was the one who cooked.

Molly's role was simple: keep him company and taste the food.

"Sebastian, if we moved out, would anyone care if we slept until dark?"

Sebastian paused his chopping, thought for a moment, and looked at Molly. "Do you want to move out?"

"No, no, we can't move out!" Molly quickly weighed the pros and cons. She couldn't let a moment of criticism push her from a comfortable home into a difficult situation.

If they moved out, she'd be in real trouble.

Besides, she and Ellie had their fair share of arguments growing up.

But there was always warmth between Ellie and Molly.

"Sebastian, cut more meat. I need to replenish my strength."
