Chapter 807 Teddy Bathing Outdoors
Vera wasn't scared of any punishment. Honestly, there was nothing Patrick could use to threaten her.
In the end, Vera's punishment was losing her vacation.
Vera pouted and said, "Whatever, I don't care. I didn't want to go with you anyway."
When Patrick spoke again, Vera got mad.
"No ice cream for you this summer!"
"Patrick! You wouldn't dare."
Patrick had already given the order.
Vera slapped Patrick's arm in frustration. "I don't even know why I married someone as bossy as you!"
She stormed out of the living room, leaving Patrick alone.
The servants didn't dare move. If Vera was angry, did that mean they didn't have to give away the ice cream?
Patrick watched Vera's retreating figure as she went to Cindy's room. "Cindy, give me Teddy."
Cindy and Vincent held Teddy protectively. "Vera, let Teddy stay with me tonight. He's not going anywhere."
Vera pointed at Teddy in Vincent's arms. "Theodore, come here."
Teddy knew "Theodore" was his full name. After crying about it several times, he had accepted it.
Seeing Vera's stern face, Teddy clung tightly to Vincent's neck, sensing danger.
This action made Vincent even more protective of him, spoiling him without reason.
This habit, formed in his infancy, would continue into the future. Whenever he got into trouble, he would hide behind Vincent and Cindy to avoid Vera's wrath.
"If you don't come back tonight, don't bother coming back at all. You're just as infuriating as your dad."
Vera left, slamming the door behind her.
"Mr. Olteran, should we still give away the ice cream?"
Patrick stood up and instructed, "Give half to the workers braving the heat outside, and keep the other half for us."
The servant smiled and said, "Mr. Olteran, you really spoil Mrs. Olteran."
Patrick snorted, "She doesn't see it that way."
She said she didn't care about going with him. If she didn't want to go with him, who did she want to go with?
She didn't even know why she married him. He gave her endless love, and she only grew bolder.
Back in the bedroom, Vera was sulking at the desk.
Patrick didn't say a word to her. He changed his clothes and went to get Teddy.
Cindy and Vincent still wouldn't give him up.
At dinner, the servant called everyone to eat. Vera, still sulking, said, "I'm not eating. I'll just have ice cream."
Patrick told the servant, "If she doesn't want to eat, let her be hungry."
He went downstairs.
In the summer heat, Teddy was placed naked in his special chair, with Patrick on one side and an empty seat on the other. "Mommy. Mommy."
Patrick mixed Teddy's food and fed him a spoonful. "Your mom's not eating."
Shawn had taken another porcelain vase he loved to donate, saving the set.
In her bedroom, Vera was chatting with Molly. "Got any plans this weekend? Want to hang out?"
Molly asked, "Are we bringing the guys?"
"Nope."
"Then I'm free."
At the Chase family dinner table, Sebastian glanced at Molly's chat screen. "Put your phone down while eating."
Molly sent a message to Sebastian and then put her phone down.
A moment later, Sebastian's phone buzzed. He picked it up, saw the message, and Molly said, "Put your phone down while eating."
Sebastian smiled indulgently and put his phone down.
Later that evening, Cindy didn't dare take Teddy back to the bedroom for a bath, fearing he might get scolded.
She went to Vera's room, grabbed Teddy's bath supplies, and bathed him in the courtyard.
The summer evening sky was a beautiful orange, with a stunning sunset.
The darkening sky was gentle, and the occasional breeze was pleasant.
The hydrangeas in the corner, in clusters of pink and blue, and the white ones, all competed in beauty.
The garden's greenery, meticulously trimmed bonsai, and the lotus flowers in the pond, with fish swimming around, added to the charm.
In the courtyard, Teddy's cheerful voice could be heard, bringing a sense of warmth and relaxation after a busy day.
Even though Teddy couldn't talk, Vincent and Cindy, with their clothes wet, happily chatted with him while bathing him.
Shawn and Patrick were still at odds, avoiding each other.
Cindy's voice could be heard, "Hurry up and bring him back inside. Look, a mosquito bit his little arm."
Patrick came out with a towel, wrapped Teddy in it, and dried his wet hair. "Say 'Daddy.'"
Teddy called, "Daddy."
Patrick kissed his little face.
Vera, still sulking, came downstairs, threw down Teddy's baby powder, bath soap, and pajamas, and left again.
Teddy, chewing on his hand, watched Vera leave, then looked at Patrick and started crying.
After a few cries, his uncle took him back to the bedroom.
As the sunset faded and the moon hung high, the sky turned dark. Patrick returned to the bedroom. He saw Vera, who had bathed and was applying ointment to her arm. Patrick silently took her arm, gently cleaned it, and reapplied the ointment.
Patrick also dried her hair, the only sound being the low hum of the hairdryer.
Shawn, talking to his wife's cold memorial plaque, said, "Honey, if I had known Patrick would turn out like this living on his own, I would never have let him leave. Now he's even bossing me around.
He gave away the ice cream I bought. As a father, I've hit rock bottom. Visit his dreams tonight and give him a piece of your mind. Then come to my dreams and chat with me."
During Patrick's rebellious teenage years, he lived alone, becoming a motherless child. He barely communicated with Shawn. Shawn always believed Patrick's success was due to their family's good fortune.
But spending more time with Patrick revealed his flaws. No one is perfect.
Soon, the butler knocked. "Mr. Olteran, can you come out for a moment?"
Shawn opened the door. "What's up?"
"Mr. Patrick Olteran didn't give away all the ice cream. He kept half."
"Really? Show me."
Seeing the ice cream, Shawn felt a surge of joy. Even the donated porcelain vase didn't seem so bad. "Does Vera know?"
The butler shook his head.
Shawn's mischievous side emerged. "Don't tell her! She's mad at Patrick. Let her give him a hard time for me too!"
