Chapter 815 On Whom Did Sebastian Spend All the Money
Molly wrapped her arms around Sebastian's muscular back, her lips slightly parted as she pressed them against his skin. She gently bit his shoulder, her breath warm and heavy with desire.
Just as Molly's plan was about to succeed, Sebastian's phone rang on the nightstand.
The sudden ring interrupted Molly's actions.
Sebastian always answered his phone, no matter what.
After a few rings, Sebastian propped himself up, took a deep breath, and reached for his phone. Seeing an unlisted number, he answered, "Hello?"
"It's me, Marigold."
Since Sebastian was still on top of Molly, she could clearly hear the name.
Sebastian and Molly locked eyes. He immediately rolled off her and sat up, his desire fading. "Go ahead."
This time, Molly couldn't hear the other side of the conversation. Sebastian quickly threw off the covers and headed to the bathroom to change, instructing, "Send me the address. I'll be there soon. Keep it quiet to avoid panic."
Seeing Sebastian so tense after a phone call, Molly got out of bed, her clothes disheveled, and ran to the bathroom. "Sebastian, where are you going?"
Sebastian looked at the seductive Molly and turned away. "I have to go out. Get some rest."
After changing, he walked out of the bathroom and saw Molly's eyes filled with tears. "Sebastian."
Sebastian turned back, cupped the back of Molly's head, and kissed her again. "We'll continue tomorrow night. I liked the lace. Let's try the black one tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it."
Molly's face turned bright red.
With that, Sebastian left.
In the middle of the night, he drove away, and Molly stood by the window, watching his car disappear into the darkness.
Later that night, Ellie yawned as she came downstairs and saw Molly sitting in the living room, legs crossed, her dress spread out around her.
Ellie was startled and walked closer to see that it was Molly. "Why aren't you asleep? What are you doing here?" Ellie placed a hand on her chest, trying to calm herself.
Molly turned to look at the sleepy Ellie. "Mom, I need to ask you something."
"Go ahead." Ellie poured herself a glass of water and sat next to her daughter.
Molly asked, "Do you think Sebastian would ever cheat on me?"
Ellie was taken aback by Molly's question. "He'd need the means to cheat. You control all his finances. Where would he get the money?"
Molly couldn't find a rebuttal to Ellie's blunt observation of her spending habits.
"But what if it's someone Sebastian loved in the past, and they start spending time together again, rekindling old feelings? I'm just hypothetically speaking, Mom," Molly asked nervously.
Ellie waved it off. "You know who Sebastian loves the most. Stop overthinking. Where is he? Tell him to come down and take you back to bed."
Ellie didn't know Sebastian had left.
Molly replied, "He got a call from a colleague and went out."
Ellie sensed something was off. "Was it a woman?"
Molly bit her lip. "Mom, go back to bed. I'll wait for Sebastian."
Ellie insisted, "I'll call him."
Molly quickly stopped her. "Don't worry, Mom. Go to sleep. He's probably at the police station, and it's not convenient for me to know. I was just talking with Vera about men and got curious. Do you think Dad or Sebastian would ever cheat?"
Ellie scolded Molly, "Nonsense. Your dad and Sebastian are honorable men. They'd never do something so disgusting."
Molly leaned over on the couch, lying down, and continued to wait for Sebastian.
In the countryside, the nearby residents were still awake, gathering around the police tape, curious about what was happening inside.
Police lights flashed on the road, and someone was being questioned nearby.
Some people were recording with their phones, and a forensic officer asked a nearby officer to manage the crowd. "Get the residents to disperse."
Sebastian approached, showed his credentials as required, and entered.
Marigold was already inside waiting. "Take a look at this. Is it a counterfeit machine?"
Sebastian walked in and examined a large piece of equipment, reaching out to inspect it.
Marigold explained, "We got a call tonight from a drunk who stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to relieve himself. He found a partially exposed skeleton and called us in a panic."
Marigold had checked the dark, abandoned factory herself and found the equipment suspicious. Her doubts grew, so she called Sebastian. "It's Marigold. Can you come to Lakeview Village? There's an abandoned factory here, and I suspect it was used for counterfeiting. I need you to verify."
Sebastian knew the crowd outside could cause problems if they overheard anything about counterfeiting, whether it was true or not. It could cause a public uproar and hinder their investigation.
He arrived and entered the dilapidated factory Marigold mentioned, using a flashlight to inspect the place. Finally, he wiped his hand on the machine and saw there was no dust on it.
