Chapter 770 Vera's Nature

Vera lifted her leg to kick Noah, but after years of being on the receiving end, Noah had learned her patterns. He quickly leaped forward, dodging her attack.

Teddy, watching this, grew even more fond of Noah.

"Patrick, what are those two up to? Are they picking on Noah?" Vera asked, puzzled.

Patrick replied, "Nope, they're not."

"Then what are they doing?" Vera pressed on, her curiosity insatiable.

Patrick knew his wife well. If he told her they were suitors, she'd be proud for days. So, he lied without blinking, "They're here to borrow money."

"No way! I don't have any! I'm broke!" Vera's greedy nature immediately surfaced.

Noah looked at Patrick in surprise, while Patrick smiled in satisfaction. "Exactly, we don't know them. Stay away from them in the future. If they try to talk to you, just say: NO!"

Vera nodded earnestly, "Got it, Patrick. I always listen to you."

Noah clapped in admiration as they descended the steps.

Vera walked between the two men, holding Teddy in her arms.

She turned to Noah, "Why are you clapping?" Teddy turned to look at Noah, too.

Noah replied, "I'm admiring Patrick."

Vera then turned to Patrick, "Why is he admiring you?" Teddy followed her gaze to Patrick.

Patrick said, "Because I'm his brother-in-law."

Vera muttered to herself, "Why do I feel like I asked a pointless question?" She and Teddy exchanged glances.

Instead of returning to the hotel, Patrick drove the family to dinner.

That evening, Teddy was left with Noah.

Noah was thrilled, but Vera was not.

"Patrick, what did I do wrong this time? Why are you mad again?" Vera, sensing something was off, asked tearfully as she was pinned down.

Patrick responded, "Am I?"

Vera nodded, and soon her clothes were being removed.

She tried to stop him, still confused, "Patrick, didn't you promise this morning that you'd sleep with Teddy tonight? What are you doing?"

As Patrick pulled down her skirt, Vera whispered urgently, "Patrick, what's going on? If you don't tell me, no sleeping!"

Patrick paused and looked at her, "To make you look more like a married woman."

Vera furrowed her brows, puzzled: How do I not look like a married woman?

"Patrick, how does this make me look more married? Explain the logic..."

The sounds from the master bedroom soon faded, replaced by intimate noises, filling the room with a warm fragrance.

Meanwhile, Noah and Teddy bonded over the night, video chatting with Warren and Brianna.

"Teddy, say hi to your grandparents."

Hearing his name, Teddy turned to look at the phone, then back to Noah, planting a slobbery kiss on his face.

Noah's heart melted every time Teddy did this, and he reciprocated the affection. Teddy, waving his little arms, grabbed Noah's hair and continued his enthusiastic kisses.

Noah couldn't bear to put Teddy down, even for a bathroom break.

"Teddy, why don't you come live with me? I'll take care of you, and your parents can have another baby, okay?"

Teddy, not understanding, continued to shower Noah with kisses.

"Even if they have another baby, I'll still love you, I promise."

Teddy, oblivious, just kept kissing.

Late at night, Vera, wrapped in a blanket, tried to "separate" from Patrick. But Patrick soon returned with a sleeping Teddy, and the boundary between them disappeared.

Vera, exhausted, fell asleep holding Teddy.

During their days abroad, due to the time difference, they rarely video chatted with home. Wherever they traveled, Noah carried Teddy.

Patrick drove Noah to his classes, and Vera and Teddy waited for him after school.

Vera, unable to reach, stood on tiptoe to tug Noah's ear.

Noah bent down, tugging Vera's ear in return.

Teddy watched, then turned to look at Patrick's ear.

On a weekend trip, Patrick drove them to a scenic spot. Unexpectedly, they ran into someone Patrick knew.

After exchanging greetings, Patrick introduced, "My wife's brother studies here. She missed him, so we decided to take a trip after his exams."

The acquaintance waved excitedly at Vera, who was admiring the waterfall, "It's so spectacular, Teddy, look!"

"Patrick, come take a picture with me," Vera called out.

Patrick smiled at his acquaintance, "I'll catch up with you later."

He walked over, taking the frightened Teddy from Noah's arms. Teddy calmed down in Patrick's embrace.

Noah was the designated photographer for the family.

He refused to take pictures with Vera, only wanting photos with Teddy, which earned him another beating from Vera.

They stayed near the scenic spot overnight. Late at night, Molly saw the family photos in the group chat and video-called Vera, "Living the good life, huh?"

"You look exhausted."

Molly sighed, "Don't even ask. Just come back soon. I need to hide at your place. Sebastian's been wearing me out."

Vera, on the video call, had a freshly bathed, fragrant Teddy stealing the spotlight.

She shared the screen with Teddy, "It's strange, Susan hasn't video-called me. She usually insists on seeing the baby, even if it means staying up all night. What's going on with her and Randall?"

"We'll talk when you get back. The connection's bad, and it's hard to explain." Before hanging up, Molly kissed the screen, "Teddy, give me a kiss."

Teddy looked at the phone, confused about how to kiss it.

Vera helped, pressing the phone to Teddy's lips.

Soon, Patrick, freshly showered, came out and saw the happy Teddy, "When we get back, let's give Teddy to Dad. He'll need time to adjust to the time difference."

Compared to Patrick's actions, Vera felt she was too considerate. "Patrick, have some compassion. Dad's old, and Teddy adjusting to the time difference will keep him up all night. Can he handle that?"
