Chapter 742 TV Dramas Are All Watched by Grandpa

Susan sat next to Randall, no longer as composed as she was at the beginning. Randall held her phone, checking if she had blocked him.

Sure enough, his suspicion was correct.

He was blocked!

The next second, a newly added Facebook contact caught Randall's attention.

Randall leaned back in his chair, looking up at Susan, who was clearly distracted and avoiding eye contact. He opened the chat labeled "John."

"Who's John?" Randall suddenly asked in the meeting room.

A guy sitting nearby raised his hand as if answering a question, "That's me."

Randall put down Susan's phone and turned to look at the guy who had been sitting close to Susan, helping her with her studies. "Oh, it's you. Got it."

Susan snatched her phone back, clearly upset. "Stop going through my phone."

Randall let it go, and Susan couldn't focus on studying anymore. She started packing her things. "I have something to do today, so I'm leaving. I'll come back tomorrow."

As she left, Susan stormed out with her backpack, and Randall jogged after her, wrapping his arm around her. "Are you mad?"

"Don't touch me."

Randall kept his arm around her. "Weren't you the one who said that if we're dating, I should hold you and kiss you? Now I'm holding you, and you're still not happy."

Susan replied, "I just don't want you to hold me right now."

Seeing her anger, Randall changed the subject. "Who was the other guy helping you with your studies? One was John, and the other?"

"I'm not telling you."

Randall took the books from her arms. "Why are you mad? I haven't even gotten mad yet."

Susan stopped, turned around, and looked at Randall, even angrier. She had hoped that Randall would get jealous, showing that he cared about her.

"Randall, are you with me just because I always stick by your side, listen to you, and foolishly like you? Do you not actually like me at all?"

Susan had known that Randall's decision to kiss her and start dating was impulsive. Otherwise, he wouldn't have regretted it afterward.

Now, seeing her studying with another guy, Randall didn't show any jealousy.

Susan's eyes reddened with frustration. She grabbed her backpack from Randall and ran out of the library.

"Susan," Randall called out, running after her.

Outside the library, Randall, with his long legs, quickly caught up to Susan. "What are you thinking? Get in the car."

Susan, with tears in her eyes, refused to go with Randall.

Randall forcefully took her hand and led her to the passenger seat, pushing her in. "Sit tight and don't run off."

Randall got into the driver's seat. The ice cream he had bought for Susan had melted in the summer heat.

Susan sat beside him, growing more upset. She covered her eyes with her arm and cried.

Randall looked back at Susan, who was crying because of him. He leaned over, buckled her seatbelt, and drove away from the campus.

On the way, Randall reflected on himself. It all started because he didn't help Susan with her studies or accompany her to the library. "Look, if you're really struggling with your studies, I won't look for a job for the next few days. I'll help you review. If you still don't get it during the exam, I'll give you the answers. If you still fail, I'll hack into the school system and change your grades to passing. How about that?"

Susan, still crying, spoke with a nasal tone, "Randall, you just don't understand me. I know you're busy with your own studies and job search. I don't need you to help me review. I just want to see that you care. But you don't."

"Randall, you don't really like me. You were just moved by my actions, so you thought you liked me."

The car ride back to the hotel was filled with tension.

At the hotel, Randall pulled Susan upstairs.

Once inside, he threw her books onto a nearby shelf and, without a word, cupped the back of her head and kissed her.

Susan was stunned. Randall held her waist with one hand and her head with the other, their lips locked. He guided her backward until they reached the bed. When Randall was about to lift her onto the bed, Susan pushed against him, her muffled protests barely audible.

Feeling her resistance, Randall stopped.

After the kiss, Randall swallowed and looked at Susan, who was now in shock. "Are you still crying?"

Susan pouted and shook her head.

Randall pulled up a chair and sat across from her, gesturing to the edge of the bed. "Sit down. Let's talk."

Susan obediently sat at the edge of the bed, her hands fidgeting with her dress.

Randall asked, "Does kissing you mean I like you? So, does sleeping with you mean I love you?"

"Randall!"

Randall's stubbornness flared up. "Answer me."

Susan looked at Randall, feeling wronged. "That's not what I meant."

Randall pointed around the hotel room. "You felt it just now. In a hotel room, just the two of us. I kissed you, held you. I'm a man. The next step would be to put you on the bed." He pointed to the bed.

Susan felt like she was sitting on pins and needles.

"If I didn't like you even a little, I wouldn't have stopped when you resisted." Randall continued, "You always overthink things. If I was just moved by you, I wouldn't have been able to kiss you. You're the most obedient one in the family, but you still give me headaches."

"I didn't watch any TV shows. That was Grandpa."

Randall sighed, "Is that what I was talking about?"

Susan looked down, not daring to speak.

Randall said, "Look at me."

Susan kept her head down, avoiding eye contact.

"Weren't you just accusing me of not liking you? Now you're looking down. Who are you showing that to?"

Susan bit her lip. Thinking back, she realized Randall did like her. He shared all his secrets and thoughts with her, took her home during holidays, and even compromised for her...

Just now, she had forgotten all the ways Randall showed he cared, focusing only on her grievances.

"Randall, I'm sorry."
