Chapter 787 Beaten Again
Susan said, "I didn't even realize my computer had issues. I couldn't find a lot of icons, so I didn't want to bother you. I tried downloading some software and followed online tutorials to fix it myself."
But the more she downloaded, the slower her computer got. Susan's computer was less than two years old, and she didn't play games or binge-watch shows, yet it became unbearably slow, with the mouse lagging behind.
Ulysses instructed the servant, "Hey, can you make a pot of coffee? This might take a while."
The servant quickly went to do as told.
Once Randall had everything adjusted, Susan tried it out and exclaimed in surprise, "Randall, this is perfect!" She had found a boy she could admire wholeheartedly.
Ulysses and Sadie inexplicably felt a growing fondness for Randall.
Before leaving, Randall thoroughly checked Susan's computer one last time to ensure everything was in order before he stood up to go.
Susan followed him out to see him off, insisting on walking him to his car.
When they reached the car, Susan instinctively opened the passenger door and got in.
Randall was speechless.
"Susan, I'll drive you to the gate."
When they reached the gate, Randall noticed Susan still hadn't gotten out. She pointed ahead, "Just to the intersection up there."
Randall said, "If you keep this up, you'll end up taking me all the way to the Olteran Manor."
Susan looked down, feeling a bit dejected. She slowly raised her hand to the door handle, opened the door, and got out.
Randall watched her, noticing her reluctance to leave.
Susan stood at the gate, waving slightly at Randall.
Randall's hand rested on the gear shift. He looked at Susan through the window, and instead of driving off, he unbuckled his seatbelt and got out of the car.
Susan looked across the road at Randall, puzzled about why he got out.
Randall walked up to Susan and opened his arms. Susan immediately understood and hugged him tightly.
Young love is the most straightforward, and lovers find it hard to part.
"Randall, I don't want you to go," Susan said, her face pressed against Randall's chest.
Randall held her waist with one hand and cupped the back of her head with the other, giving her the most secure embrace. "I'll come see you next month, okay?"
Susan nodded in his arms, "Okay."
It wasn't just Susan who didn't want to part; Randall felt the same. He cupped Susan's face with both hands, leaned down, and kissed the Morales family's young lady at the entrance of the Morales Manor.
This kiss was filled with longing.
Susan felt Randall's tongue between her lips and teeth. She blushed, feeling like it was their first kiss. She instinctively leaned closer into Randall's embrace.
Randall's hand slowly moved down, holding the back of her head. He didn't let go, so Susan couldn't pull away.
Gradually, he held Susan tighter. When she felt uncomfortable and pushed back with her tongue, Randall finally loosened his grip on her.
They had barely separated by five inches when Susan spoke, "Randall..."
Before she could finish, Randall pulled her back in for another passionate kiss.
When they finally parted, Randall's thumb traced Susan's reddened lips. "We can't kiss anymore, or your lips will get chapped and won't look good."
Susan raised her hand, holding Randall's thumb on her lips. "Randall, when I'm not around, remember you have a girlfriend. Avoid getting too close with female colleagues. If someone tries to add you on social media for no reason, you have to refuse."
Randall nodded and smiled, "Don't worry, I got this."
Susan glanced at the sky; it was getting late. "Randall, you should go."
Randall reminded her, "If anyone asks for your contact info or tries to hit on you, tell them to come to me. And if you miss me, we can video call at night. Don't just stay home alone; go out and have fun with your old classmates and friends."
Susan obediently nodded, watching Randall get into his car. This time, she stood at the gate, waving more energetically, almost as if she was shooing him away.
Randall changed lanes and sped off. Through the rearview mirror, he could still see Susan watching him until she was out of sight. Only then did Randall pull over to the side of the road, take out his phone, change his profile picture, and then drive onto the highway.
Susan stood at the gate, covering her mouth. "Why did Randall kiss me so hard? My lips hurt."
She took out her phone, opened the camera, and looked at her reddened, slightly swollen lips. She shyly glanced around, relieved that no one was on the street. Then, she bashfully covered her lips and ran back inside. "Mom, Dad, I'm back!"
"Mom, Dad, Randall changed his profile picture to one of me!"
"Mom, Dad, look! I didn't even know when he took this picture."
As the sun set, Vera sat in the car, holding Teddy in her arms. She was chatting with Molly while Teddy, restless, kept tugging at Vera's clothes, almost tearing them.
"Teddy, let Mommy chat with Molly for a bit."
Teddy, holding a half-eaten cookie, turned to watch Vera's fingers fly over the keyboard, sending messages he couldn't read.
Molly asked, "Did Randall change his profile picture to one he took before he started dating?"
"Exactly! He took that picture of Susan while she was studying in the living room, looking beautiful in the sunlight."
Molly replied, "I knew he was secretly sentimental. I've been nagging Randall to change that car profile picture for years. I thought he'd pass it down to his grandkids. But one look at Susan, and he changed it."
Randall's profile picture had been a point of contention from the start. "Change that picture already. You have four cars, and you still haven't changed it. Are you planning to buy a fifth?"
Randall liked his profile picture, but Vera disapproved. "What kind of taste do you have?"
This time, Randall's profile picture didn't get mocked by everyone.
Soon, Vera sent Molly a voice message, "Molly, I have to go. Teddy's trying to grab my phone."
Molly could hear Teddy's dissatisfied cries through the phone. She asked, "Where's our babysitter dad?"
Vera replied with another voice message, "Patrick and I took him for a drive this afternoon. We're on our way back now. It's too hot outside, so we didn't bring Dad along."
Teddy opened his mouth, trying to chew on Vera's phone, his baby voice strong.
Vera pushed his little head away, "Go chew on your dad's phone."
Patrick, in the front seat, handed his phone to the back.
Teddy eagerly took it with both hands. Patrick chuckled, "He's got a good grip."
He drove slowly down the road. Occasionally, taking the family out for a drive on the weekend seemed like a great idea.
Mother and son each had a phone, playing separately.
Before long, Teddy somehow managed to dial 911.
So, Patrick, wearing a diaper, got spanked by Vera again.
It seemed Vera never ran out of people to scold!
