Chapter 823 Mutual Betrayal
                    Sebastian said, "Forget it."
During breakfast, the Chase family stared at the empty seat.
Everyone's eyes were on Sebastian.
Resigned, Sebastian put down his fork, stood up, and headed to his old bedroom, now the marital suite.
Three minutes later, Molly's loud crying echoed downstairs.
Ellie nodded in satisfaction, "Alright, everyone, let's eat. She's up."
Five minutes later, Molly appeared at the table, visibly upset, dragging her chair away from Sebastian.
Sebastian glanced at her calmly and continued eating.
The misunderstanding cleared up, and the next day, when Sebastian arrived at the team, Marigold was already waiting for him at the door. As soon as she saw him, she hurried over, disregarding any pretense. "Sebastian, did you explain things to Molly? If you don't, she's going to divorce you!"
Sebastian was confused, "Divorce?"
Marigold slapped her forehead, "She came to divorce you yesterday."
Sebastian was speechless.
Molly had no idea how the story had twisted into her wanting a divorce.
She had just wanted to clear things up, but by noon, Sebastian was at the company entrance, "I heard you want to divorce me?"
Molly was baffled, "What?"
She paused and asked, "Who told you that?"
Sebastian: "Whoever you told, told me."
"Must be Vera!" Molly immediately revealed.
Sebastian looked down at Molly, who felt betrayed and called Patrick, "Patrick, Vera wants to sleep in separate rooms. She's spreading rumors that you were childhood sweethearts with the girl next door, playing house, and that your first love wasn't her. She's trying to cause trouble."
Patrick was holding his baby with one arm and the phone with the other, a small hand wrapped around his arm, and Vera standing nearby.
Patrick glanced at Vera.
Vera looked up, confused, blinking, "What's wrong?"
"Got it," Patrick replied coldly to Molly on the phone.
Patrick's icy gaze didn't leave Vera's face, and Vera remained puzzled.
Teddy, with his chubby cheeks, looked at Patrick and then at Vera, yawned, and snuggled into Patrick's shoulder to sleep.
Molly felt a sense of relief, but before she could celebrate, Sebastian spoke up, "It wasn't Vera who said it."
The car fell silent.
Molly's phone felt hot in her hand. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
"I didn't expect you to tell Vera."
"Don't you know we often talk about you guys?"
The car fell silent again.
In the afternoon, Vera received a strange apology call from Molly, but she didn't think much of it and continued enjoying her vacation. However, things took a turn in the evening.
"Your arm was injured recently, and I didn't want to touch you. Tonight, you can make it up to me."
Teddy had been sent out by the ruthless Patrick.
Vera knew that Patrick's generosity during the day came with a price at night.
"Vera, I don't have neighbors, nor did I have a neighbor girl, nor childhood sweethearts, nor do I care for playing house. I'm afraid you'll be disappointed."
Vera, exhausted and breathless, heard the familiar words and connected them to Molly's apology call. She gritted her teeth, "Molly!"
Sebastian received Vera's report.
That night, Sebastian went straight to his bedroom, looking at Molly playing on her phone in bed, "You said you wanted separate rooms, why are you back?"
Sebastian approached the bed, "I heard you love me and want to have a baby with me but are too shy to say it?"
Molly immediately understood, clutching the blanket for dear life, "Vera lied! I didn't say that."
Sebastian yanked the blanket away, causing Molly to roll on the bed, ready to run. "Sebastian, this is Vera's revenge for my call at noon. You need to listen rationally."
Sebastian grabbed her nightgown and pulled her back, pinning her to the bed, "I'm very rational. It's you who's being impulsive."
Vera slept until noon, waking to find Teddy gone.
Teddy woke up, finding no parents around, sat up in his crib, and started crying.
Patrick picked him up, passing by the bedroom, seeing Vera's messy hair as she slept, and then looked at Teddy. He clumsily dressed Teddy and took him out.
That morning, wherever Patrick went, he had a child in his arms.
Seeing Patrick like this for the first time, everyone was shocked. "Mr. Olteran, is this the legendary Mr. Teddy Olteran?"
Patrick glanced at the "legend" in his arms, and Jack immediately confirmed Teddy's identity, "Who else but Mr. Teddy Olteran would be carried by Mr. Olteran to the office?"
Teddy clung tightly to Patrick's neck, surrounded by strangers.
"Sir, the 10 o'clock meeting, will you be bringing Mr. Teddy Olteran?"
Patrick tried handing Teddy to Jack, but as soon as Teddy was in Jack's arms, he froze for a few seconds before his heart-wrenching cries filled the office. The company's top employees looked at the little Teddy, unsure how to comfort him.
"Teddy," Patrick called.
Teddy twisted his chubby waist, reaching out to Patrick, clutching his little hands, wanting to be held.
Patrick sighed and took him back. "The meeting will start in five minutes."
"Mr. Olteran, what about Mr. Teddy Olteran?"
"I'll hold him."
Patrick never imagined he'd attend a meeting with his son in his arms. His previous firm stance on separating work and personal life crumbled with Teddy's cries.
In the meeting room, Teddy stopped crying.
Fortunately, Teddy was easy to soothe, as long as he was in his mom or dad's arms.
He grabbed Patrick's tie, chewing on it with his tiny fists.
Patrick looked down at his son, who was contentedly gnawing on his tie, smiled, and turned his attention to the presentation on the screen.
At noon, Vera woke up and called Patrick, "Where's Teddy?"
"He's with me."
Vera got out of bed, rubbed her eyes, yawned, and said, "Send me the location, I'll come get him."
At noon, Vera arrived at the company building, finding Teddy still battling Patrick's tie, which was now covered in Teddy's drool.
Jack introduced her, "This is Mrs. Olteran."
"Hello, Mrs. Olteran."
Vera nodded and greeted them.
