Chapter 765 Hugging Dad Tight to Protect Myself
Noah's eyes widened in disbelief, his coffee still in his mouth, forgetting to blink. He wondered if he was hallucinating.
It must be because he didn't sleep well last night and had a video call with them, making him see things.
Teddy, adorably, turned his head to look at Noah and waved his little hand, saying, "Bye-bye."
Noah thought he must still be half-asleep. He swallowed his coffee and prepared to drink more to wake himself up.
"Noah!" Vera shouted.
Noah was so startled that he choked, spraying coffee everywhere. His classmates exclaimed, "Noah, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
Across from him, Teddy saw Noah spray coffee and laughed, his little body shaking with giggles.
Vera shouted again, "Noah, it's 10:30, time for the video call."
Noah snapped out of it, feeling a surge of energy from his feet to his brain, filling him with strength.
He quickly handed his papers and coffee to a nearby classmate and sprinted towards Vera and Teddy, who were watching him.
With a powerful hug, Noah embraced Vera and Teddy, happy as a child. "Vera, Teddy, what are you doing here?"
He then grabbed Teddy with both hands, excitedly spinning him around the campus. Teddy was bewildered. Noah tossed him into the air and caught him securely.
Teddy laughed excitedly, his laughter echoing through the campus, heard by Noah's classmates.
"Teddy, Teddy, my sweetie, how did you get here? I love you so much." Noah kissed Teddy's forehead, cheeks, chin, nose, and brow.
Teddy blinked repeatedly, his mouth open, babbling nonst.
Noah was beyond excited.
Soon, Noah lifted Teddy with both hands, kissing his double chin, making Teddy laugh from the tickling sensation.
Noah's cool image among his classmates seemed to be crumbling.
"Noah, are you really okay?" a classmate asked cautiously.
Noah, grinning like a fool, quickly introduced, "Jevin, Ansa, this is my nephew. My sister and brother-in-law from back home came to visit me. I don't need the video call anymore; they're here."
Teddy frowned, listening to the foreign language, suddenly not understanding a word.
A classmate looked at Patrick, mouth agape, "Patrick."
Noah excitedly introduced Vera's family, especially his nephew Teddy, "My nephew is the cutest baby in the world. He's my treasure."
Teddy looked at the group of foreign faces, feeling closer to Noah; at least they looked like they were from the same place.
After the introductions, Noah spotted his friend Kyle Cook from afar. "Sam, my nephew is here."
He ran over to show off Teddy.
"Kenny, this is my nephew."
In no time, Teddy was known among Noah's classmates.
Compared to the child, the teachers were more interested in the child's father. Sam, eyes full of admiration, approached Patrick, extending his hands, "Mr. Patrick, hello. I'm Noah's lab teacher, Sam. I've always admired you. Can I take a picture with you?"
Patrick shook hands, "Hey, we'll have plenty of chances to meet. My brother's a student here."
Hearing about the photo op, classmates started fixing their appearance, wanting a picture too. To avoid complications, Patrick politely declined Sam's request, explaining he was just a businessman, not a celebrity.
Vera needed a moment to catch up with the conversation.
"Patrick, let's go. Teddy's missing."
Noah had taken Teddy somewhere to show him off.
Patrick politely excused himself.
Finally, the couple found Teddy crying in the music club, his face red and neck strained.
Noah rescheduled his afternoon discussion to the evening, online, to spend time with Teddy.
In the morning, the family of three went to Noah's place. Initially, Noah was young, and Warren and Brianna decided to have Teddy stay with someone else. After a while, he couldn't adapt and insisted on moving out, planning to find a place himself.
Warren and Brianna even traveled abroad to buy Teddy a small villa and hired a caretaker. Later, feeling lonely and rebellious, Noah often had friends over for parties. After a trip back home, discovering Vera was married, Patrick had a long talk with him. Upon returning, Noah rented out the villa and moved into a single apartment.
Walking to his place, Vera admired the scenery, wanting to memorize the route to Noah's home.
Refusing to take the car, she insisted on walking with the child.
After a ten-minute walk, they arrived at Noah's apartment, a small but tidy place.
"Vera, Patrick, my place is small. Make yourselves comfortable. The water dispenser is over there, help yourselves. I'm not going to be formal; I'm holding Teddy." Noah didn't bother with introductions, just kept kissing Teddy.
Teddy, uncomfortable, cried in Noah's arms, annoyed by the kisses.
Vera inspected the details, checking the bathroom, kitchen stove, cabinets, and fridge. "Why is it full of alcohol? You're so young, I don't even drink. Replace these with water."
Noah didn't hear her.
"Teddy, you're so adorable. The best thing Vera ever did for me was giving me such a cute nephew."
As Teddy's cries grew louder, Patrick calmly walked over and took Teddy. "Noah, why isn't your balcony secured? It's not safe. I'll have someone install a railing this afternoon."
"Patrick, this place is on the 16th floor. Who's going to climb up here? No need to install anything. The sunset view is great. Sometimes I eat dinner out there alone."
Vera felt a pang of sadness, unable to accept the loneliness of eating alone. "Listen to Patrick. Your fridge is full of alcohol. If you get drunk one day and accidentally fall, it's over."
Noah replied, "Don't jinx me."
He reached for Teddy again, but Teddy, sensing Noah's intent, quickly turned and hugged Patrick tightly, not wanting to be taken away.
