Chapter 827 Vera Orders by Page

"Vera, grab Teddy, we're heading home. Next time Scott tries to take our kid, don't hesitate to fight back," Patrick said to his wife before leaving.

Vera asked, "Honey, if I get into a fight, will you still scold me?"

"No, I won't."

"What if I seriously hurt your friend? Will you be mad?"

"I'll reward you."

"Honey, I love you."

"I love you too."

The family of three chatted as they left.

Scott slammed the table in frustration. "I must be blind to have a friend like him."

After they left, Vera asked, "Honey, you always say our friendships as women aren't strong, but it seems like your friendships aren't much better."

Patrick replied, "You can't generalize. That's just Scott's problem, it doesn't mean we're all like that."

Vera whispered, "But honey, I think it's your problem. What should we do?"

Patrick asked, "What do you suggest?"

"It's been a while since we ate at Rustic Hearth Cafe. If we go there for dinner, I think all the problems are theirs, and my husband is the best," Vera said.

Patrick laughed, finally understanding why Vera had picked him up from work that afternoon.

She wanted to eat out.

Back in the car, he drove straight to Rustic Hearth Cafe.

Their private room was ready, and they sat by the window on the second floor.

Patrick held the baby while Vera ordered, "This, this, everything on this page, and everything on this page too."

Father and son watched Vera order.

"Mrs. Olteran, are you expecting more guests?" the manager asked politely, noticing Vera's extensive order.

Vera shook her head, "No, it's just the three of us."

The manager glanced at the menu and quietly left.

Soon, a high chair was brought over, and Teddy sat next to Patrick, excitedly watching the dishes being served. His eyes widened, and he patted the table with his little hands.

Once the food was served, Patrick could only give Teddy some fruit, making Teddy so anxious his face turned red.

Vera dipped a cucumber in water and handed it to her son, then started eating with a fork. "Honey, I heard you and Scott talking about Randall. What happened?"

"Nothing."

"And Marigold? I heard you mention a lot of names. Whose sister died or went missing? Tell me the story. Why did you say Scott is an illegitimate child who became the head of the family? And who is Scott's brother, and how did he die in front of him?"

Patrick watched Vera eat happily, her cheeks puffed out as she chewed, asking questions between bites.

He thought: Vera's ears are sharp; she didn't miss a single detail.

"Before I answer, let me ask you. How do you know Marigold?" Patrick asked.

Vera paused mid-bite and looked up, "I don't know what you're talking about."

"If you don't tell the truth, you're paying for dinner tonight."

Vera immediately said, "Molly told me Marigold is Sebastian's ex-girlfriend."

Patrick frowned.

Vera quickly put down her fork and explained, "Molly and Sebastian are stable now, but she seemed very angry when we were abroad recently."

"Why didn't you tell me?" Patrick asked, his voice tinged with frustration.

Vera shrugged, "It's their business. Molly just needed to vent. If I told you, it would be different. Besides, it's just an ex, not cheating. It's better for them to solve it themselves. We're outsiders." She had decided not to intervene, letting them reconcile on their own.

Patrick's frown didn't ease. "Got it, let's eat."

Vera responded with an "Oh," and picked up her fork to eat slowly. Patrick added, "In the future, tell me about these things right away."

Vera sighed, "It's just an ex. Molly already kicked Sebastian out. He wouldn't dare do anything like that."

"How is Sebastian's relationship with Marigold now?" Patrick was concerned about his sister.

Vera put down her fork again, "Molly told me it's purely a colleague relationship. And when they were together, it was because of Molly..."

The couple chatted while eating, not noticing the child beside them.

Until a loud cough drew their attention.

Vera was startled and quickly reached into Teddy's mouth to pull out the cucumber.

Teddy kicked his legs in frustration and started crying loudly.

Later, Teddy sat in his mom's lap, his dirty little hands grabbing at Vera's clothes.

They didn't finish their meal and hurriedly packed up to go home.

On the way, they called home to have the chef prepare Teddy's dinner, so it would be ready when they arrived.

After dinner, Molly came over to take Teddy. "He cried so much. If you didn't take his food, I wouldn't believe it."

Vera's dinner box was on the table, and Teddy ignored his fruit, staring at his parents' dinner.

Because their dinner was spread out on several plates, while he had just one bowl, he looked pitiful.

So Teddy straightened up, trying to climb onto the table to grab food.

Patrick placed Teddy's bowl among their plates, treating it as another dish.

Then he held Teddy, and each time he fed him, Patrick's arm would reach over, pretending to take food from the plates, and then feed him fruit.

This time, Teddy didn't cry or fuss, obediently opening his mouth for the fruit.

Molly watched in admiration, waiting to see when Teddy would cry. Vera also put down her fork, watching her son.

With this trick, Teddy pointed to the steak on the table, as if ordering it. "Dad... Dad..."

Patrick pretended to sweep his hand over the steak and then fed him vegetables.

Teddy moved his mouth as if he really tasted the steak, then continued pointing to "order."

Molly clapped, "Patrick, I finally understand why people online say you're amazing."

It's one thing to impress elders, but even a baby who can't walk was fooled by him.

Vera also realized her husband had a way of handling both her and their son.

"Is it tasty?" Patrick asked his son.

"Mm... Daddy..." Teddy adorably called out.

He felt his dad was the best.

Patrick smiled at his son's call, continuing to feed him this way, thinking there was nothing wrong with it.
