Chapter 736 Teddy is Scary

Shawn nudged Randall, "Why don't you just crash at the hotel? They got cleaning staff to tidy up your room every day, and you don't have to lift a finger. The place is nice, you can study here, and it's safe. Where else are you gonna find that?"

Teddy tilted his head, glancing at Shawn and Randall but avoiding eye contact.

Teddy's legs were tired from standing, and he raised his little arms for a hug, but no one noticed.

Leaning against the back cabinet, Teddy slid down and plopped onto the tiled floor. Luckily, his diaper cushioned his fall. He pouted in frustration, but when he realized it didn't hurt, his planned outburst of crying didn't happen.

Randall said, "Sure, the conditions are good, but I can't keep asking you guys to extend my stay. The hotel is just a temporary solution. I can't live here forever. If you keep this up, I'll... What the heck, Teddy!"

Randall felt something heavy on his foot and then something soft climbing up his leg, tugging at his pants. He jumped in surprise, thinking it was a dog, but when he looked down, he saw Teddy with his little butt in the air, clinging to his pants.

Shawn looked down at Teddy and smacked his forehead, "Oh man, I was so busy arguing with you that I forgot I brought Teddy along." He almost lost Teddy.

Randall quickly bent down and picked up Teddy, hugging him affectionately. "Where were you hiding? I didn't even see you."

Teddy started babbling in his own language, seemingly complaining to Randall.

Randall, hearing the incomprehensible sounds, said, "Okay, okay, I get it. You can stop now."

Holding Teddy with one arm, Randall wrapped his other arm around Shawn's, "Let's head back to the room and chill for a bit."

Shawn couldn't extend Randall's stay, and they were discovered.

In the elevator, Randall kissed Teddy to see his reaction.

Teddy looked at Randall, searching his memory, and finally recognized him. He slowly blinked and turned his gaze to the elevator door, ignoring Randall's affectionate kiss.

Back at the hotel, Randall tossed a big apple to Teddy for him to play with.

Randall turned on the air conditioning and pulled up a chair next to Shawn. "Grandpa, you don't need to visit me so often. My parents came by the other day and bought enough fruit to last me half a month. Susan comes by every day to help me eat it."

Shawn replied, "We're just worried about you. You don't appreciate the good life you have. Learn from Teddy."

Randall looked at Teddy on the bed, struggling to take a bite of the apple, and laughed, snapping his fingers at him. "You little goofball, let me see you."

Teddy looked up adorably at Randall and then held up the apple with both hands, offering it to him.

Randall said, "I don't want it. You eat it."

Shawn, who had raised Teddy, understood his intentions. "Teddy's not giving it to you to eat. He wants you to take a bite so he can lick the inside."

Randall was speechless.

Randall took the apple and split it in half with his bare hands.

Shawn and Teddy were stunned. Teddy lay on the bed, staring at Randall's hands.

Shawn thought, being young is great.

Randall handed the two halves of the apple to Shawn and Teddy. "You two eat."

Shawn asked, "Randall, did you train in combat like Vera?" as he munched on his apple, clearly surprised.

Randall pointed at Teddy, "Who would dare to be like his mom? Susan's been coming over these past few days, and when she couldn't find a knife, I started practicing splitting apples with my hands."

Susan had searched the hotel, even flipping the pillows, but couldn't find a knife.

On a hot day, as Susan was about to go out and buy a knife, Randall took an apple and split it in half with his hands.

Susan was just as surprised, but after her shock, she looked at Randall with admiration. "Randall, you're amazing."

After that, Susan always wanted to eat apples and would hand them to Randall, so they could share.

Shawn had already forgotten the previous topic.

They unknowingly started talking about Molly, and Shawn complained about her.

No one noticed Teddy, who managed to bite off a small piece of apple with his tiny teeth, trying to swallow it without chewing.

Teddy scared Shawn, who broke out in a cold sweat.

Randall, facing Teddy, saw the danger and quickly reached into his mouth to retrieve the fingernail-sized piece of apple.

Teddy cried loudly in the hotel, his face turning red.

"Grandpa, you should take him home. Don't take him out so often. Taking care of Patrick's kid is a lot of work. He's not a baby who can't run or eat anymore," Randall said, looking at the large piece of apple in his hand. If Teddy had swallowed it, he could have choked.

Randall was also scared.

Taking care of a child means you never know what might happen.

Shawn was frightened too. "Alright, Grandpa's leaving. Today isn't a good day to go out. I'll check the calendar before going out next time."

Randall said, "You can't carry Teddy. When you get home, give him to my mom."

Randall carried the crying Teddy into the elevator and escorted them to the car, watching it drive away.

He didn't even have time to wash his hands.

Entering the lobby, Randall instructed the front desk, "Don't accept any payments for my room from anyone other than me. I'll be checking out at the end of the month."

This finally put an end to his family's attempts to support him.

When Patrick went to the Olteran Manor to pick up Teddy in the evening, he learned about Teddy's day.

Shawn, trying to improve Teddy's image in Patrick's eyes, said, "Randall and I were talking, and Teddy was quiet for a long time. Randall noticed a piece of apple was missing and quickly reached into Teddy's mouth to retrieve it. It was the size of a fingernail."

Patrick looked at Teddy and wiped the drool from his mouth. "Did you scare Grandpa today?"

Teddy didn't speak, just looked at Patrick and lazily leaned on his shoulder.

Patrick patted Teddy's back affectionately. "Tomorrow, come to the office with Dad."

Susan came home late, and everyone knew she had been with Randall.

At home, Susan found Cindy. "Cindy, can you buy less fruit for Randall? He doesn't eat it and tricks me into going over. When I get there, he washes a plate of fruit for me to eat."

Cindy was shocked. "He tricks you into eating it?"

Susan nodded sadly. "Randall says I can't leave until I finish it."

Cindy was speechless.
