Chapter 808 Seeking Uncle for Shelter

Vera's stomach was growling as she headed downstairs to grab some water.

The chef knew Vera hadn't eaten dinner, so he was waiting for her. "Mrs. Olteran, don't be stubborn. Mr. Olteran told us to save our dinner tonight, and we didn't give away all the ice cream. We saved half for you."

Vera was taken aback and asked, "Really?"

After a quick trip to the kitchen, Vera came out excitedly, running up the stairs with a spring in her step. She burst into the bedroom and saw Patrick reading by the bedside. She jumped onto him, happily pinning him down.

"Honey, I love you, I love you the most," she said playfully, snatching Patrick's book and planting several kisses on his lips.

Patrick's irritation vanished instantly. "What do you love about me? You don't even know why you married such a domineering man."

"Marrying a man like you means living a good life," Vera said sweetly, giving Patrick another kiss.

Earlier in the afternoon, she had been annoyed by Patrick's quick mood changes, but now she was the one changing her tune.

"You don't want to go out with me, who do you want to go with?"

"I just want to go with you, honey. I don't feel safe without you by my side. I love you, please come with me, okay?" Vera coaxed her husband. "Honey, I've reflected on my behavior. I was wrong. Please come with me. You've already punished me; you can only punish me once."

Patrick wrapped his arm around Vera's waist. "Are you hungry?"

"Starving."

Patrick lifted Vera. "Let's go downstairs and eat. I knew you'd be hungry tonight."

In the middle of the night, while everyone else was asleep, the couple sat in the dining room, Vera eating and Patrick keeping her company.

"Actually, honey, you have a lot of flaws," Vera said as Patrick was about to clear the plates. "But love makes me tolerate your flaws, and even love you more."

Patrick felt satisfied.

"So, honey, I know I have a lot of flaws too, but you love me, so you should tolerate my flaws just like I do yours, right?"

After all that talking, it turned out the last sentence was the main point.

Patrick asked, "If I want you to change, does that mean I don't love you?"

"It has to be gradual. You can't change everything at once. I know you love me, so I dare to play little tricks right under your nose."

She continued eating while talking, and Patrick later teased, "Just like your son." He also ate while talking, not afraid of getting hiccups.

That night, he fed Teddy, who had a lot to say, too.

"Honey, take me out to play. I've already picked the place."

Patrick replied, "You picked the place to go with Molly, not taking any men."

"How do you know? Molly must have snitched!" Based on past experiences, Molly, Vera, and Randall didn't trust each other.

Patrick knew Vera's first reaction would be to blame Molly for tattling. After dinner, she thought it over carefully. "Wait a minute, if Molly snitched, what's in it for her? She doesn't want to go out with Sebastian either. Besides, she's still holding a grudge from the water park incident."

After dinner, she lay in Patrick's arms, pondering until late at night. "Was it Sebastian who told you?"

"Yes." Without another word, Vera grabbed her phone and messaged Molly, "Your husband told my husband that we planned to go out this weekend without them."

Molly received the message, turned around, and looked at Sebastian, who was still awake. "Sebastian, did you snitch to Patrick?"

She sat up in bed and said, "Let's talk."

Sebastian raised an eyebrow questioned, "Are you sure?"

The next day, Molly returned to the Olteran Manor alone after learning what had happened at home.

After meeting up, she understood why Sebastian had been keeping a close watch on her recently. She had been implicated.

She ate ice cream to calm her nerves. "Patrick, you're wrong about this. How could I do such a thing? At my house, I buy whatever I want. Vera, you don't have the same status at your in-laws' as I do."

Molly's visit was immediately annoying.

Despite knowing this, she still said it on purpose, and Vera understood her intention.

Taking advantage of being at her parents' house, Molly complained indirectly about Patrick treating his wife poorly, using herself to highlight that Vera hadn't married into a good family.

Vera whispered, "Actually, Patrick saved a lot for me later. What you're eating is what he saved for me."

Vincent and Cindy had gone out.

Apparently, last night at midnight, both of them were struggling to stay awake, while Teddy was in the middle, occasionally whining and patting Vincent or tugging Cindy, making it impossible for them to sleep.

Vincent reminisced about raising Randall, "Randall was quite easygoing back then. After drinking his fill, he'd lie in my arms and fall asleep on his own. He'd hold onto my arm, his little legs clinging to me, not letting me go. He was quite attached to me."

Cindy said, "Honey, I miss Randall."

So the next morning, they left Teddy with the family and went to visit their child together.

Faced with the sudden family visit, Randall was anxious. "Mom, Dad, is everything okay at home?"

Shawn complained to Molly, "Vera isn't loyal. She said she'd take responsibility if something happened, but in the end, we were the ones who suffered."

Molly ate ice cream while holding Teddy. "Dad, you're in your fifties, how can you still be so naive? Even if you haven't experienced much, you've watched enough TV. If Vera was willing to be the scapegoat, why didn't she buy it herself in the first place? That statement is a lie in any situation."

The friendship between Shawn and Vera was sinking.

When Molly held him, Teddy cooperated by reaching out his hands and opening his mouth.

"By the way, Vera, how did you get exposed?" Molly was most curious about this.

Vera looked at Teddy's little face in Molly's arms. "Give me Teddy, and I'll tell you how I got exposed."

Molly looked down and met Teddy's obedient gaze, then quickly handed him over.

Vera gave Teddy a few pats on his little bottom. "He rummaged through the trash can and exposed me. Can you believe it? The child I raised with so much effort betrayed me."

Teddy started crying, not because it hurt, but because he felt wronged, sitting on Vera's lap and crying pitifully.

Molly felt both heartache and amusement.

She quickly threw away the ice cream stick, picked up the adorable Teddy, and wiped his tears. "Don't cry, I'll take you to Sebastian to avoid the risk."

Recently, Teddy had to go out for a walk every day. After Vera hurt her arm, she couldn't go out anymore. Only when the weather was cool and Sebastian came home early would he drive Teddy around the city.

Sometimes they would visit his grandparents, and occasionally return home.

As Molly carried him out, Vera chased to the door and reminded, "Come back early. If you're out too long, you won't be able to carry him. When he cries from hunger, your head will hurt."
