Chapter 757 The Child Has Achieved Success

"A guy who's watched over a thousand horror movies and can now watch the top ten scariest ones while eating dinner," Vera summed up perfectly.

Susan's curiosity was piqued. "Is he really that brave?"

Vera nodded. "Not only is he brave, but he practically lives in the ghost world. Austin works as a professional ghost actor at an amusement park. He's got years of experience and was even voted the scariest ghost actor by visitors. He's so dedicated and terrifying that he once got beaten up by a visitor and ended up in the hospital."

After finishing her explanation, Vera dressed Teddy and casually tossed him onto the bed. Teddy rolled over, laughing, and looked up at the adorable Vera.

Vera opened Teddy's closet, took out his clothes, both thick and thin, and put them in her packing bag. "Even though I charge for packing Randall's things now, I feel guilty towards you, so I'll give you two ideas to 'get back' at Randall."

Susan asked, "Why do you feel guilty towards me?"

While putting Teddy's tongue scraper in a box, Vera said, "If I hadn't insisted on keeping you at the Olteran Manor and constantly trying to match you two up, would you and Randall have this complicated relationship?"

Susan blushed and looked down, holding Teddy's chubby ankle. "No, I've always liked Randall."

Teddy, feeling uncomfortable, bent down to push Susan's hand away.

"So, what are your ideas?" Susan asked.

Vera folded Teddy's towel and put it in the bag. "Option one: Austin is quite charming. You take Randall to the amusement park, and I'll have Austin chase you.

Option two: Austin is very loyal. You take Randall to the haunted house, and I'll have Austin and his friends specifically scare Randall."

Susan shook her head. "No, I'm afraid Randall won't be worried about me, and I'll be sad. I'm also afraid Austin will scare Randall too much, and I'll feel bad."

Vera commented, "You're hopeless."

Susan agreed, looking at Teddy. "We're both hopeless."

Teddy, hearing Susan's words, was not happy.

"Teddy is much more promising," Vera said, recalling Teddy's history. She picked him up and kissed him. "Right, Teddy?"

Susan watched as Vera quickly packed Teddy's clothes. "Why are you packing Teddy's clothes? Where is he going?"

Vera picked up Teddy from the couch, holding him lovingly. "My exams are over, and Patrick and I are planning to take him abroad. Patrick went out today to handle Teddy's travel documents. We didn't expect it to be so complicated for a child to travel. His dad will be busy with it all afternoon."

Chubby Teddy lay on Vera's shoulder, sucking his hand and amusing himself.

In the evening, Patrick returned with the documents. "Vera, I'll take Teddy for a photo tomorrow. He needs to take it in person."

Vera replied, "Sure, Teddy's passport photo needs to be adorable. He'll use it for years."

Seeing Susan, Patrick asked, "Are you done with your exams?"

Susan shook her head. "Can I not go home this summer?"

Susan knew who Ulysses admired and who Randall feared the most. If Patrick said the word, she could be free.

Patrick understood Susan's thoughts but deliberately didn't intervene. "Go home and spend time with your parents. When you have free time, travel with friends."

Susan frowned. "You sound just like Randall."

"Of course, Randall was raised by my husband. How could it be different?" Vera said from the side. "But I must emphasize, Randall is not as good as my husband."

Vera, with a sweet smile, walked over to Patrick and pushed Teddy into his arms. "Your dad is back, go give him a kiss."

Teddy hugged Patrick's face, calling "Daddy" repeatedly.

Patrick held Teddy with one hand, answering him.

Susan had been receiving calls from her parents asking when her exams would be over so they could pick her up.

"Don't come get me. Randall said he'd take me."

Susan had been trying to win Patrick's favor by helping with the baby at Cherry Villa. "Uncle Patrick, can you tell my parents not to make me go home?"

Patrick firmly refused. Later, to avoid Susan bringing the baby, he took Teddy to the office.

At night, while bathing Teddy, Vera video-called Molly. "Susan is still naive. We can't outsmart Patrick, and she thinks she can pull tricks under his nose."

Molly replied, "Not just naive, but foolish. No matter what she does, you and Patrick won't call her parents to let her stay. They only have one daughter; we can't keep her for a year."

Vera said, "Susan can think things through when it comes to Randall, but she's lazy about her own matters."

After that, Vera lifted Teddy out of the tub. "Why are you alone tonight? Where's Sebastian?"

"He's on night duty. It's ladies' night."

Looking at Teddy's back on the screen, Molly said enviously, "I want to take a bite out of Teddy!"

"Molly, you've been married for a while. When are you planning to have a baby?"

Molly replied, "If the baby is like Teddy, Sebastian, and I want a few more years of peace."

Hearing his name, Teddy tried to turn his head to see Molly on the screen, but couldn't because his neck was too short.

The two chatted about their lives, Vera complaining about Teddy, and Molly about her job. Talking occasionally helped them relieve stress.

Susan hadn't visited Randall for a few days, so he called her. "Are you scared? You haven't come to see me."

Susan replied, "Randall, I'm helping Uncle Patrick with the baby."

Randall asked, "Doesn't he have a nanny? Why do you need to help?"

"He didn't ask me; I volunteered." Trying to win Patrick's favor to stay.
