Chapter 772 Noah's Eyes Turn Red

Noah stood outside the airport, checking the time. As the family of three departed, a wave of loneliness washed over him.

Surrounded by classmates, friends, and teachers who looked different and spoke different languages, Noah longed for a taste of home. To get it, he had to drive far to a restaurant. Returning to his car, he found that Patrick had already taken care of all the paperwork related to the vehicle.

Noah started the car and drove back to his quiet, single apartment.

Opening the door, he saw a carton of milk on the table.

Noah frowned. He hadn't bought it.

There was a bag of cereal on the cabinet, and the fridge was stocked with water, fruit, various meats, vegetables, nuts, and legumes. The cabinets were filled with snacks, flour, and several bags of noodles.

Where were his pasta, his beer, his coffee?

On the balcony, someone had enclosed it with glass. But knowing Noah loved the view, they left it partially open so he could still see the sunset.

His bed was a mess, and there was a note on it: "Teddy messed up your bed. Patrick and I didn't want to make it, so you'll have to do it yourself. I traded your pasta and beer with the store owner. The balcony was left open for safety reasons. Take care of yourself, eat healthily, and maintain a good routine. —Vera."

Noah noticed the floor had been cleaned, and his nightstand and desk now had several photo frames. On the desk were pictures of him and Teddy—one of Teddy laughing, another of Teddy crawling over to nibble his face. There were also photos of him and his sister, and one of him talking to Patrick, captured by Vera. Patrick looked at Noah with hope, while Noah looked at Patrick with admiration.

Taking it all in, Noah sat on the bed. His eyes reddened, and he rubbed his face with his hands.

On the plane, Teddy clung to the window, gazing at the land and vast ocean below. Patrick gently stroked Teddy's head, while Vera organized the photos she had taken over the past few days on her phone. Teddy, hungry, tugged at Patrick's collar.

At noon, Vera closed the window and tricked Teddy, “It's dark now, time to sleep.”

Teddy, sitting on Vera's lap, yawned and fell asleep in her arms.

A flight attendant noticed Teddy and praised, “Teddy is so well-behaved on the plane.”

Vera replied, “He hasn't started fussing yet. Just wait until he wakes up.”

The Olteran family knew Patrick's family was returning today, so they waited at the airport early.

After a long flight, they arrived home in the afternoon.

Teddy started crying as soon as they left the airport, refusing to be held by Shawn. He wouldn't let Patrick drive; he needed Patrick to hold him.

It wasn't until they got home that Teddy recognized his surroundings and remembered it was his home.

Vera said, “Dad, you're taking care of Teddy, right?”

Shawn replied, “Why should I?”

"Because you need to adjust to the time zone. And don't make me call you out—what time did you go to bed last night? You were still posting 'play games with me' at 4 AM. Patrick knows and should scold you. You better listen and take care of Teddy so he doesn't scold you."

Shawn stubbornly replied, "I'm not taking care of him."

Vera threatened, "Then we'll go back to Cherry Villa."

Shawn was speechless. Threats!

He took Teddy, and the two stared at each other, "Alright, it's us tonight."

Vera handed out gifts and asked Molly, "When can we meet? I need to take Teddy to see my parents tomorrow."

"After work tonight, I'll be home."

Patrick went to his study and didn't come down until dinner. At the table, Shawn took the initiative to care for Teddy.

Cindy complained to Patrick, "Dad doesn't listen to you anymore."

Shawn retorted, "We're eating. Why talk about this?"

Molly added, "Cindy, don't say Dad doesn't listen. You should say Dad was playing games at 4 AM."

Shawn asked Molly, "Is Sebastian picking you up tonight?"

Molly happily announced, "Dad, your dream is shattered. Sebastian is working the night shift."

In the evening, Teddy started fussing in the living room, wanting to sleep, but Patrick and Vera wouldn't let him.

He sat on the couch crying, while Shawn, Vincent, and Molly felt heartbroken.

Vera gave Teddy a special cookie she bought for him. He stopped crying as soon as he tasted it.

Teddy looked at the cookie in confusion, then put it back in his mouth.

Seeing Teddy calm down, Vera said to Molly, "Let's go to the backyard."

Teddy was always surrounded by love.

"What happened in that video you mentioned? What's going on with Randall and Susan? I didn't see Susan today. Where is she?"

Molly explained, "She's probably with Randall. Randall moved out of the hotel and is sharing a place with someone. Susan didn't come home last night, and Dad was worried. He called her, but she didn't come back, so he called me to check on them and bring Susan home."

Vera was surprised, "Really? Susan doesn't seem like the type to stay out just because Randall rented a place. She might seem naive, but she has boundaries."

Molly agreed, "Yeah, Susan insisted on staying with Randall. We all thought it was odd. When Sebastian and I went to the place, I understood why Susan didn't want to leave. If my husband shared a place with someone like that, I'd be affectionate with Sebastian right in front of them."

Vera looked puzzled but didn't interrupt.

Soon, Susan's joyful voice came from the living room, "Baby, you're back! I missed you so much, I dreamed about you."

She hugged Teddy, showering him with affection, "Do you remember me? Teddy, I love you so much."

Teddy was used to it. He was kissed by family members every day.

Vera sometimes even fought with him over his hand.

Patrick didn't mind smelling his little feet.

Molly pointed outside, "The person in question is back. Let her tell you."
