Chapter 767 The Little Guy Doesn't Recognize Vera's Son

Vera was pulled back into the master bedroom by Patrick, while Teddy was taken to the smaller bedroom, separating mother and son.

Fortunately, Noah was good at calming kids.

He recorded a video of Teddy crying and played it on a loop, letting Teddy watch it.

Teddy stared at the screen, bewildered by the crying chubby child, not realizing it was himself.

Tears clung to his eyelashes as he looked from the video to Noah, his eyes filled with confusion.

Noah asked, "You don't recognize him, do you?"

Teddy continued to stare at the screen, puzzled.

"That's Vera's son. Do you know him?" Noah chatted with Teddy.

Teddy didn't know.

After spending some time with Noah in the afternoon, Teddy didn't cry at night as long as Noah didn't kiss him too much.

Teddy lay by Noah's bed, and as night fell, he started babbling, saying all the words he knew.

Noah used to think mothers were silly for talking to babies. Later, he realized he was just as silly.

"You recognize me now, don't you? Why do I love you so much?"

Noah pinched Teddy's chubby cheeks. "Your mom wants you to be a little tiger, but why do you howl like a wolf? Can't even tell your own species apart, little traitor in the tiger's den."

Teddy pouted and stuck out his tongue, looking adorable.

Noah grabbed his phone and found an animal encyclopedia to teach Teddy. "See, this is a tiger." As he looked at pictures of baby tigers, he compared them to Teddy. "You know, you two are pretty similar in cuteness."

Teddy slept with Noah, but Vera was worried. She nudged the strong Patrick beside her, breathless, "Put on some clothes and bring Teddy back. You're satisfied now, and Teddy won't be a bother. Noah doesn't have experience with kids and has class tomorrow."

Patrick, having had his fill, obediently got up, put on his pajamas, and left the bedroom. He crossed the living room to the smaller bedroom.

He knocked, but there was no response. Gently pushing the door open, he saw Teddy sleeping in Noah's arms.

Patrick wanted to take Teddy, but Noah held him tightly, giving him a sense of security. In the end, Patrick just covered them with a blanket and left.

Vera, still worried, said, "At least leave Noah's door ajar so we can hear if Teddy cries. Don't make Noah handle it alone at night."

Less than an hour later, Teddy's sobs grew louder from the bedroom.

Patrick got up and went out.

Vera, too sleepy to open her eyes, left Patrick and Noah to soothe Teddy with a bottle in the living room.

Since it was late, they kept the lights dim to avoid overstimulating Teddy, whose cries grew stronger.

"Noah, you have class tomorrow. Go to sleep. I'll take him back in a bit."

Noah protested, "Patrick, come on. You promised I could spend the night with Teddy. It's not even morning yet. You and Vera go back to sleep. I'll handle him tomorrow too. I'm good."

Teddy fell asleep right after finishing his bottle.

Noah took him back.

Patrick smiled helplessly and returned to the bedroom. After feeding Teddy, he felt his task was done and fell into a deep sleep.

The late-night exercise left Vera sleeping soundly too. The couple slept comfortably, unaware that Noah had taken Teddy early in the morning.

As dawn broke, Noah gently woke Teddy, "Don't cry. I'm taking you out to play."

Miraculously, Teddy didn't cry, watching Noah sneak him out with a sense of pride.

As soon as they were outside, Noah tossed Teddy into the air and caught him, filling the hallway with their laughter.

"We're out."

Teddy laughed, his mouth wide open, his giggles clear and joyful. Noah held him, showing him the early morning market.

It had rained late last night, and the streets were still wet. The early morning streets were quiet, with few people around, most carrying bags and walking briskly.

The road was peaceful, with few cars.

Soon, they left the hotel area and reached a bustling street. Shops were opening, and many people walked by with sunglasses and coffee in hand.

Teddy, unusually obedient in the morning, lay on Noah's shoulder, observing the different people.

When Noah hailed a cab with his thumb, Teddy watched curiously, then studied his own hand before putting his fist in his mouth.

At Noah's university, he immediately went to the office with Teddy. "Britta, I need to take a personal day."

The old teacher was surprised to see Teddy. "Oh my, whose adorable baby is this?"

Teddy eyed the chubby, white-haired man warily, clinging to Noah when he tried to hold him.

Noah proudly announced, "My nephew!"

Noah showed off Teddy to all his teachers, asking for a day off to spend with him.

The teachers, charmed by Teddy, joked that they had to hold him before approving Noah's leave.

Noah shamelessly handed Teddy over.

Teddy's cries echoed again.

Vera woke up, lying on Patrick's chest, one leg draped over his. "Patrick, what time is it?" She was too sleepy to open her eyes or speak clearly.

Patrick, holding the naked Vera, squinted at the dim room, unable to tell the time.

He checked his phone on the nightstand. "It's 8:30."

Vera, still half-asleep, worried about Teddy. She lazily patted Patrick's chest. "Noah has class. Teddy should be awake. Can you go? I'm too tired to move."

Patrick, moved by Vera's soft voice, gently shifted her leg and laid her down. "I'll go check."

He went to Noah's room and opened the door. "Noah, Teddy..."
