Chapter 100 Did I Help Her Pay the Wrong Debt?
Frederick had a sudden realization and asked, "You're not planning to settle in Teronica?"
"Yeah," she replied.
"Why not?"
"I don't like this city."
"Is it because of what happened six years ago?"
At the mention of this, Isabella's mood soured, and she shot Frederick a glare.
Frederick tried to console her, "The past is the past. If you want to live in Teronica, I can help you. You don't have to worry about online abuse again, or…."
"I don't want to stay in Teronica! Mind your own business!" Isabella snapped and turned to leave.
She didn't want Frederick digging into her life. The more he pried, the more likely he'd find out about Hugo, Justin, and Paul.
Frederick was left puzzled, staring after her. What did he say to upset her this time? She turned on him so quickly!
Was it wrong to try to help her? Women are really hard to understand!
The next day, something big happened in Teronica: Kevin Valdemar died.
Kevin Valdemar, Anna's only son, was found dead from a drug overdose that morning!
There were two other people doing drugs with Kevin, but only he died.
Since this happened in the military district, there was a quick news blackout.
Doing drugs in the military district was a huge scandal. If this got out, it would definitely cause a sensation and make people question the military's authority!
So the top brass contacted Nicholas, demanding the Valdemar family handle it privately and quickly.
Nicholas didn't want this incident to tarnish the Valdemar family's reputation, so he immediately announced it as a sudden death from alcohol allergy.
He didn't mention drugs at all, let alone the military district.
Anna was devastated, arguing with Nicholas, begging him to stand up for her, claiming that Kevin was killed by Frederick as revenge!
Nicholas's face darkened. Not only did he not care, but he also pressured Anna to quickly bury Kevin and not investigate the matter!
In a fit of rage, Anna stormed to the hospital to confront Frederick.
Isabella didn't know about Kevin's situation, but when she was bringing breakfast to Dennis, she happened to witness the scene.
Anna was screaming like a madwoman, "You killed my son, you killed my son! Frederick, you bastard! I only had one son, how could you be so heartless! I admit I bullied your Dennis, but Dennis didn't die, and I apologized to you. How could you kill Kevin anyway?! If you're angry, come at me. If you have the guts, kill me. What kind of man would go after Kevin?! No matter what, he was your brother."
Frederick held a cigarette between his fingers, looking indifferent. "If you have evidence, let the police come and arrest me. If not, get lost."
Anna shouted, "I don't have evidence, but do you dare swear on your Dennis that you didn't do it? I dare say, if I wronged you, let me die a horrible death, like getting hit by a car the moment I step outside! Do you dare swear if you did it, let Dennis die right now?"
Frederick's face instantly darkened. "If you want to get hit by a car, I can make that happen."
His tone was calm but filled with menace. Frederick wasn't just arguing; he was seriously warning and threatening.
Isabella's heart pounded. What had she just heard?
His cold expression sent a chill down her spine. Even from this distance, she felt the bone-chilling cold.
"If you have the guts, kill me too! Kill me!" Anna screamed. Seeing Isabella, she rushed towards her like a madwoman, "You bitch! How dare you meddle! Die! Go to hell!"
Yesterday, Isabella had saved Dennis, and the Valdemars all knew it.
Isabella was shocked by Anna and instinctively took several steps back.
Seeing Anna about to rush over, a tall figure suddenly appeared in front of her, shielding her completely.
Before Anna could get close, Frederick kicked her far away.
This time he didn't look at Anna but at her husband, his tone brewing with a storm. "If you don't want to die, take her and get out now!"
Anna's husband shivered in fear and, without a word, dragged Anna away as fast as he could.
Anna's voice still echoed in the hallway, "If you can really cure Dennis, consider yourself lucky. If you can't, just wait for death! You're dealing with a demon now, let's see how long you can live! You'll die worse than my son."
Isabella frowned, her face pale.
Frederick turned to her, "Scared?"
She was scared, but not because of Anna, but because of what Anna had said.
Yesterday, Dennis almost died because of Anna, and he retaliated by killing Anna's son?
Did he kill someone?
Is he a murderer?
Isabella looked up at Frederick, full of fear!
This was an ordinary person's fear of a murderer!
Frederick was very dissatisfied with her look and said coldly, "I didn't kill him."
Isabella swallowed and looked away. "This is Dennis's breakfast. I have things to do at home, so I'll leave now."
She shoved the lunchbox into his hand and turned to run, running fast as if a murderer was chasing her.
Frederick's face was dark. She didn't believe him?
