Chapter 137 Isabella, Have You Committed Misdeeds Again?

Isabella had already hopped into the car.

The car's soundproofing was pretty solid, so she could only catch some faint wailing sounds from a distance, without any clear details.

Just as she started to worry, Frederick showed up with Hugo in his arms.

Seeing their anxious faces, Isabella quickly asked, "What happened? Is everything okay? Is the memorial service over?"

Frederick didn't say a word and got into the car with Hugo.

Elliot didn't have time to explain either; he just jumped in and started the car right away.

Hugo, trying to keep Isabella from worrying, said, "A pack of wolves suddenly showed up in the mountains. It was really scary, so we ran back."

Isabella was shocked and asked, "Wolves? Isn't this private property? How could there be wolves?"

Hugo, hinting at something, said, "I don't know either. Maybe someone let them in on purpose. Didn't you see? Those wolves were super aggressive and seemed like they were trained to attack people."

Frederick's face darkened.

Elliot's brows furrowed too.

Isabella didn't catch the hint and was just scared. She asked, "Are you guys hurt?"

"No, they didn't attack us."

Isabella let out a sigh of relief, saying, "That's good."

Frederick frowned, looking grim.

He knew those wolves were probably after Dennis, but something went wrong, and they ended up targeting the Valdemar family instead.

He quickly sent a message to Jared: [Find out where those wolves came from!]

On the way back, everyone was lost in their own thoughts: Frederick and Elliot were thinking about the wolves, Hugo was wondering if Frederick was really his dad, and Isabella was focused on Dennis.

So as soon as they got back to Sunnyvale Community, Isabella quickly took Hugo to Dennis's room.

She locked the door and immediately checked on Dennis.

Meanwhile, Frederick got a call from Jared in the study.

Jared said, "Those wolves were illegally kept by a beast trainer. We found a bunch of photos of Dennis at his training ground, some of which were torn up. He was training the wolves to attack Dennis."

Just as Frederick suspected!

Frederick lit a cigarette and took a deep drag, asking, "Where is he?"

"Haven't found him yet."

"Does he have a grudge against us?"

"No, he might not even know who Dennis is. Someone must have hired him to kill."

Frederick clenched his teeth. Someone wanted to kill his Dennis.

"How did the wolves get into the cemetery?" Frederick asked.

"They suddenly appeared near the cemetery. The security guards noticed and tried to drive them away immediately. They also contacted us, but the wolves got there first."

"Find that beast trainer for me! And check if he has any ties to the Valdemar family!"

The wolf incident was probably orchestrated by the Valdemar family!

After hanging up, Frederick stubbed out his cigarette and lit another one.

Elliot stood beside him, fuming. He said, "It was definitely planned. Someone knew Dennis would be at the family memorial today, so they trained the wolves in advance to attack him.

If the plan had worked, it would have looked like a 'wild wolf attack on a kid' incident. No one would have suspected murder, and the mastermind would have gotten away with it! Damn, what a nasty plan!"

Usually calm and polite, Elliot couldn't help but curse.

It was a vicious and infuriating act!

Man, using a pack of wild wolves to go after a 5-year-old kid? That's just messed up!

Lately, there have been tons of stories online about big dogs attacking people. Those scenes are already scary enough, so imagine a pack of wild wolves?

If Dennis had really been surrounded by them, it would have been a bloodbath!

Just thinking about it makes you want to curse.

"Luckily, the wolves suddenly switched their target to the Valdemar family. Otherwise, it would have been a nightmare.

We just got word from over there; someone's liver got torn apart, another person lost an arm, and one of Nicholas's guys had his stomach ripped open while protecting him, with his guts hanging out," Elliot said.

Frederick took a deep drag on his cigarette, his face cold and full of anger.

Elliot went on, "But something's off, Eric. When the wolves first showed up, they were clearly coming for us. After the lead wolf died, they suddenly changed their target. Why?"

Frederick couldn't figure it out either.

The whole thing happened so fast that none of them noticed Hugo's expression and little movements.

Even if they had, they wouldn't have guessed that Blizzard had secretly turned the situation around.

After all, to them, Blizzard was just a rare little snake, nothing more.

Who would take a 5-year-old's pet seriously?

So, when Elliot found out about Blizzard's abilities later, he was totally shocked.

The room went quiet for a bit. Frederick flicked the ash off his cigarette, saying coldly, "Keep digging into this. Let me know as soon as you find anything! And bring me the info on that mystery guy from last night."

At the cemetery, he got a call saying they had some info on the masked guy.

But at the time, he was too distracted by Hugo's situation, and now he had time to deal with it.

Elliot steadied himself, pulled out his phone, found a photo, and handed it to Frederick, saying, "This is the only photo we have, but he's wearing a mask, so we can't see his face clearly."

The photo was from surveillance footage, and even the figure was blurry.

"Are you sure it's him?" Frederick asked.

"Yeah! This was caught by surveillance the day he attacked Anna."

Frederick thought for a moment, and Elliot said, "Eric, you've always thought someone was behind Ms. Beniere. Do you think it could be him?

Maybe he attacked Anna to get back at Ms. Beniere? And last night, when he was staring and smiling at Dennis's window, he might not have been looking for Dennis but for Ms. Beniere?"

Frederick furrowed his brows.

He was quiet for a moment, then stubbed out his cigarette, got up, and left the study to find Isabella for a face-to-face talk.

Finding Dennis's room locked from the inside, Frederick knocked on the door, saying, "Dennis."

Isabella had just moved Dennis from the box under the bed to the bed. Hearing the noise, her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly turned around.

She asked, "What?"

"Open the door."

"Why... why do you want me to open the door?" she asked, sounding a bit nervous.

"I need to talk to you."

"Just say it."

Frederick frowned at the door, asking, "What are you doing in there?"

Isabella's heart was racing, and she didn't know how to respond.

Hugo tugged at her clothes, jumped into the box, and pointed under the bed, signaling that he would hide first.

Isabella got the hint and quickly pushed the box under the bed.

After straightening up the sheets and calming herself, she walked over to open the door.

Frederick saw her sweating and looking nervous, and frowned, asking, "What were you doing?"

"Huh?"

"Have you been up to no good again?"
