Chapter 110 Frederick, Stay Away from My Sons!
Isabella's shout cut through the wind, sharp and piercing.
Frederick stood there in the pouring rain, lips pressed tight, glaring at her, totally pissed off by her reaction.
Elliot jumped in to calm things down. "Ms. Beniere, Eric came over 'cause he heard you were in trouble. He was worried you might get hurt."
"We don't need his help! First, I get into trouble, and now my son is involved. Who's really to blame for all this? The best way he can help us is by staying far away!" Isabella yelled.
Frederick's chest heaved with anger, too mad to even respond.
"Stay away from me! Stay away from my sons!"
Isabella wiped the rain from her face, eyes red with fury, and turned to leave.
At the entrance, she told the security guard, "That man doesn't live here. Don't let him in again; he'll harm me and my family!"
Elliot stayed quiet.
Seeing the wary look from the security guard, Frederick stormed back to the car, fuming.
Elliot, feeling helpless, took a phone call before getting into the car.
In just two minutes, the car was filled with smoke, thick with the smell of cigarettes.
Frederick had smoked more than half a cigarette in one go, clearly seething with anger.
Elliot sat in the driver's seat, turned his head, and said awkwardly, "I just found out, Anna's incident has nothing to do with Isabella. She had a fever last night and was at the clinic. Her son went to the park and found Anna. It was her son who called the cops, and that's how they found Anna.
Isabella has witnesses, so Anna can't cause trouble. But we still don't know who attacked Anna."
Frederick frowned, his face dark and grim.
The car was silent for a moment before he suddenly spoke, "Don't tell me about her anymore!"
"Eric..."
"Whether she lives or dies is none of my business!" Frederick snapped.
"But Dennis only likes the food Isabella makes now. He won't eat anything else," Elliot said hesitantly.
"Then let him starve!" Frederick suddenly raised his voice, scaring Elliot into silence.
Their relationship had always been rocky, but after the past couple of days, it was in deep freeze.
Upstairs, Freya saw Isabella return and quickly handed her a clean towel, asking, "They're all gone?"
She wasn't asking about the police, but about Frederick.
She had been standing at the door earlier and saw Frederick when the door opened.
So after Isabella closed the door, she immediately stopped Hugo and Justin from running out.
The reason is Isabella had something to say to the police officers, and they shouldn't disturb her.
Coincidentally, Hugo and Justin couldn't see outside from where they were standing, and they were preoccupied, so they didn't think much of it and stayed inside.
Isabella nodded, took the towel, and wiped her face casually, "They're gone."
Freya patted her chest, "That scared me! Almost..."
"Where are the kids?" Isabella asked.
"In their room," Freya replied.
Isabella walked over, knocked on the door, and pushed it open.
Hugo was sitting in front of the computer. When he saw Isabella come in, he quickly switched the screen and stood up from his chair. "Mommy."
Justin and Paul also looked at Isabella cautiously, saying, "Mommy."
Isabella didn't say anything. She walked over, squatted down, and hugged all three of them.
A lot of scary things had happened in the past two days, and Isabella's nerves had been on edge.
But all those fears combined were nothing compared to the fear she felt when she saw Frederick just now!
Hearing he might be a murderer? Yeah, that freaked her out.
Hearing Eleanor might still be around and in trouble? That scared her too.
Almost getting hit by a car while walking? Terrifying.
Getting a call from the cops while battling a high fever, saying Hugo's fingerprints were found and someone accused her of attempted murder? Absolutely terrifying.
But all those fears combined were nothing compared to that one moment!
Seeing Frederick at the door, Isabella almost couldn't breathe!
With just one door between them, he was less than 6 feet away from Hugo and Justin—if he found them, how could she protect them?
The thought of Hugo and Justin being taken away by him, and the possibility of never seeing them again, brought tears to her eyes.
Isabella felt completely overwhelmed.
She was terrified of her kids being taken away, worried about something happening to Eleanor, scared that if she kept overseeing Dennis, she and her kids might be in danger, and equally troubled that if she stopped, Dennis might get hurt.
Dennis had nothing to do with her, but he was still so young, and she didn't want to see him get into trouble.
Isabella cried, and Hugo, Justin, and Paul panicked.
Hugo said, "Mommy, don't be afraid. No one can hurt us!"
Justin added, "Mommy, don't cry. I won't run around anymore. I'll listen to you. If you tell me to stay home, I'll stay home. If you tell me to sleep, I'll sleep. Whatever you say, okay?"
Paul also chimed in, "Mommy, don't cry."
Freya stood at the bedroom door, also unable to hold back her tears.
She knew Isabella's struggles and helplessness, knew what Isabella was afraid of, what she was hesitating about, and what she was sad about.
She felt so sorry for Isabella.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
Freya quickly wiped her tears and looked towards the door, asking, "Who is it?"
The person outside the door said, "It's me, Daniel."
Freya was stunned. She didn't rush to open the door but said to Isabella, "Isabella, Daniel is here."
Hearing this, Isabella immediately frowned.
She thought of Arnold's words and Eleanor.
Although it was not yet certain that Daniel was lying, if Eleanor was in trouble, Daniel, as Eleanor's husband, was responsible!
Isabella steadied herself, temporarily putting other things aside. She wiped her tears and said to the kids, "I'm not blaming you. It's just that when the cops showed up, I freaked out a bit. But now that it's all sorted, I feel better."
Isabella cupped their little faces, kissed each of them, and affectionately pinched their cheeks. She spoke calmly, "It's all over now, so let's not talk about it anymore. I'm going out to meet a friend. You three stay in the room and play."
"Okay," the three kids said in unison.
Isabella left the bedroom and closed the door behind her. She said to Freya, "You open the door. I'm going to wash my face."
"Okay." Freya then walked to the door and opened it, inviting Daniel in. She asked, "Why did you suddenly come over?"
Daniel was carrying breakfast. "I happened to be passing by and saw it was still early. I thought you all might still be home, so I came up to check. I called, but no one answered, so I came directly. I hope I didn't disturb you?"
Freya, unaware of Eleanor's situation, shook her head and said, "No disturbance, come in."
She took the breakfast and invited Daniel inside.
As soon as Daniel entered, he asked, "Where's Isabella? Has she already gone out, or is she still asleep?"
