Chapter 188 It's Not a Good Time for Mommy to Leave
She just left like that. What about Eleanor?
She still hasn't heard from Eleanor!
A human life is at stake; she is genuinely worried about Eleanor!
Without further thought, Isabella picked up her phone and called Daniel.
She didn't tell Daniel she was leaving, only asked if he had contacted Eleanor.
Daniel said, "I got in touch with her. I was planning to talk to you about it in the next couple of days. Can we meet to discuss?"
"I don't have time right now. I just want to know if Eleanor is okay. Where is she?" Isabella answered.
"She's fine, but she didn't go abroad. She's been secretly filming in the country. The news about her going abroad was a decoy put out by the production team."
Didn't go abroad?
This corroborated the information Arnold had found. Arnold had said there was no record of Eleanor leaving the country.
"Can I call her and talk to her?"
"Definitely not. There's a confidentiality agreement."
"I see," Isabella said, feeling very disappointed.
Daniel seemed to want to cheer her up and immediately said, "But her manager sent me a work video of Eleanor the day before yesterday. I'll send it to you."
"Okay!"
After receiving the video, Isabella watched it with Freya.
In the video, Eleanor was dressed in costume, leaning back in a chair, holding a script and studying it. Her profile was stunning.
"Eleanor, look over here," Someone called her.
Eleanor turned to the camera, asking, "What's up?"
"Daniel misses you. Make a video for him. If he doesn't see you soon, he might go crazy."
Eleanor remarked with a smile, "He's always so dramatic. Tell him I'll be home in a while."
"Okay."
The video ended, and Freya sighed, "She only said she'd be back in a while, but didn't specify when."
Isabella frowned slightly as she thought, 'The smile on Eleanor's face doesn't reach her eyes, and she seems a bit annoyed when Daniel is mentioned.'
"Have Eleanor and Daniel been getting along well these years?" Isabella asked.
"Yes, Daniel dotes on Eleanor."
"And how does Eleanor feel about Daniel?"
"Of course, she loves him too. Don't you remember? Eleanor fell in love with Daniel at first sight."
Isabella didn't say anything.
She watched the video repeatedly, feeling that the Eleanor in the video was somewhat different from the Eleanor in her heart.
But she couldn't pinpoint what was different.
"Do you see any changes in Eleanor?" Isabella asked Freya.
"She looks younger! Eleanor is a big star; she takes good care of herself."
Even Freya didn't notice anything unusual, so Isabella didn't think much more about it.
After all, she hadn't seen Eleanor in six years. It was normal for her to have some subtle changes.
Daniel sent another message: [Eleanor is doing well. Don't worry about her. Take care of yourself first.]
Isabella: [Okay.]
After replying, Isabella called Arnold.
Arnold had been very concerned about Eleanor, and she was grateful. She also knew Arnold had always liked Eleanor, so telling him about the video would put his mind at ease.
Arnold was shocked after hearing it!
He had just received a tip that Eleanor's manager, who had been missing for days, had allegedly died abroad a month ago.
Was his information wrong, or was there something off about the video Daniel provided?
Arnold wasn't sure about the manager's death, so he didn't tell Isabella. He just said, "Send me the video. Don't worry, I know Eleanor is a big star and can't leak information. I'll keep it confidential."
Isabella trusted Arnold and forwarded the video to him.
After hanging up, she breathed a sigh of relief, feeling a bit more at ease.
With news of Eleanor, she could leave with peace of mind!
Not daring to waste any more time, Isabella put away her phone and knocked on Hugo, Justin, and Paul's door, uttering, "Hugo, Justin, Paul, are you ready? We need to leave."
Paul stammered hesitantly, "Not yet, Mommy, just a little longer."
"Okay, call me when you're ready."
After sending Isabella away, Paul nervously asked Justin, "Justin, still can't reach Dennis?"
Justin and Paul were ready to leave today and had been calling Dennis.
They wanted to tell Dennis they were leaving and for him to pack up quickly so they could leave together.
But after many calls, no one answered.
Justin was frantic as he spoke, "Should we split up? I'll go find Dennis, and you guys go to the train station with Mommy. I'll bring Dennis to meet you at the train station later."
Compared to their anxiety, Hugo seemed much calmer.
He frowned and shook his head, stating, "Frederick has only found Mommy, not us. If you get caught while looking for Dennis, Mommy will go crazy."
"Then what do we do? We can't leave Dennis behind! He's our real brother! We should take him with us, not leave him alone!"
Paul nodded repeatedly, "Yes, he's our real brother. We should leave together!"
Hugo sighed, "Even if we reach him, Dennis won't come with us. Dennis once said he wouldn't leave Frederick."
"What? He's choosing Frederick over us and Mommy?" Justin was shocked.
"He wants both."
"But he can only choose one!"
Hugo explained, "It's a tough choice. Frederick raised Dennis, and Dennis naturally likes Frederick. But Dennis also loves us and Mommy."
"So what now?"
Hugo was silent for a moment, then slowly said, "It's not a good time for Mommy to leave."
"Huh? Why not? If Mommy wants to leave, she should leave. What's the big deal? As long as she's happy!"
Hugo glanced out the window, remarking, "Frederick has been looking for Mommy for years. Now that he's found her, he won't let her go easily. We're already being watched by his people."
Justin looked out the window and was furious as he shouted, "If Mommy wants to leave, no one can stop her! Frederick, better not push me! If he makes Mommy sad again, I won't hold back!"
Hugo closed the curtains, saying, "Calm down. Frederick is just one reason why it's not a good time for Mommy to leave.
The other reason is Dennis. Dennis has been thinking about Mommy for years. Now that he's found her, separating before they even reunite might be too much for Dennis.
And Mommy doesn't know Dennis is her child yet, so she left Dennis with Frederick without hesitation, only taking us.
But Mommy will find out the truth eventually. When she does, she'll regret today's decision and be in pain and guilt forever."
Justin immediately felt heartbroken!
He didn't want Mommy to be in pain and guilt, not now, not ever.
"But Mommy is determined to leave. How do we stop her?"
Hugo frowned deeply. If necessary, he would have to tell Mommy the truth!
Tell her that Dennis is her biological son!
Then she could decide whether to stay or go!
No matter what path Mommy chose, they would always be with her, protecting her!
"You guys stay calm. I'll go talk to Mommy," said Hugo.
Justin got along with Hugo, "Hugo, as long as it's for Mommy's good, I'll do whatever you say. I'll listen to you!"
Paul quickly added, "Me too! I'll listen to Hugo!"
"Okay, don't worry. I'll handle this. You guys keep trying to reach Dennis. If you get through, tell him to stay calm too." Hugo remarked calmly.
"Okay!"
