Chapter 54 Mr. Valdemar, You're Finished

Paul disappeared!

"Paul?"

Not seeing Paul around, Isabella's heart was pounding heavily. "Paul? Paul, Paul! Paul!!"

Without getting a response, she became anxious and quickly grabbed nearby people to inquire.

"Excuse me, have you seen a little boy around? He's about this tall, five years old, wearing a beige sweater and black sweatpants, looking very delicate."

She was flipping through her photo album, showing people in the mall pictures of Paul as she spoke.

"He looks like this, with a round face. He was waiting for me at the bathroom door just now."

"I didn't see it."

"I didn't see."

After searching everywhere with no results, Isabella cried in fear, "Paul, where are you? Paul!"

She was crying while dialing the police on her phone.

Her initial reaction was that these women were retaliating against her, and Paul had already been kidnapped by them.

Her second reaction was that he had encountered human traffickers!

Before she dialed the emergency number, an unknown call came in.

She accidentally slid to answer the call, and a cold, unfamiliar male voice entered her ear.

"I have your son in my hands. If you want him to stay alive, do as I say."

She had never heard this voice before. It sounded rough, as if it had been altered by a voice changer.

Isabella held her breath, her heart pounding. "What did you say?!"

She heard Paul's voice on the other end of the phone.

"Let me go! You bad people! I want Mommy, waaah, I want Mommy," Paul cried.

Isabella said more impatiently, "Paul! Mommy is here! Paul, where are you? Paul! Paul!"

"He is in our hands, and there is no immediate danger to his life."

Isabella gasped and said, "Who are you? What do you want? Please don't hurt my son!"

"You just need to answer a few questions seriously. If we are satisfied, we will release your son. But if you dare to lie, we will take action immediately!"

Isabella trembled in fear. "Tell me! I won't lie, absolutely won't lie."

"What was your purpose in returning to Teronica this time?"

"Purpose? Purpose? What purpose?" Isabella felt flustered, unsure of how to respond for a moment.

The man impatiently repeated once more.

"You've been away from Teronica for several years. Why did you suddenly come back? Think carefully before you speak! If you dare to lie, I'll kill your son!"

"I came back to apply for birth certificates for my children. My children don't have birth certificates yet. Only by applying for the birth certificates can my children attend school properly and have access to medical insurance."

"What was your purpose in repeatedly appearing around a particular man?"

"A particular man? Who?" Isabella pondered anxiously for a moment, then suddenly realized, "Are you talking about Dennis's father?"

"Yes."

Isabella felt like crying, it was him again!

"I never intended to approach him. If it weren't for my friend Justin scratching his car the day I came back, I wouldn't even know of his existence! I don't know why he always suspects me of trying to get close to him, and I don't know why all of you doubt me, but I really haven't lied! If I have lied, let me suffer a terrible fate! I didn't even know who he was! Even now, I only know him as Dennis's father. I don't even know his name."

Isabella cried heartbreakingly.

Over here, Elliot felt a bit uneasy as he looked at Frederick and whispered, "Eric, she didn't seem like she was acting, there might have been some misunderstanding in the middle."

Frederick furrowed his brow and continued to press for answers, "Are you sure? If you dare to lie, your son will really die!"

"I swear! I swear! I didn't lie! Please, don't hurt him, he's only five years old. I swear I really don't know that person, I didn't come back for him, I came back for my children's birth certificates!"

She filed for divorce from Frederick just to quickly sever ties with him, solely for the purpose of allowing her children to smoothly apply for birth certificates.

She really only had this one purpose!

Regardless of whether Dennis' father was indeed that wild man, she never thought about looking for him, never thought about condemning or retaliating against him, and never thought about seeking any child support.

She used to resent him in the past, but after the child was born, she stopped holding onto those emotions.

The arrival of the child has healed all the resentment.

She just wanted to live a good life with her children.

"I was just an ordinary single mom, all I wanted was to raise my children in a normal way! I have never provoked anyone, nor have I owed anyone. Why do you always doubt me?! If you refuse to believe anything I say, in your eyes, I am a bad woman, so please, I beg you, don't hurt my son. If you have any issues with me, just come to me directly! Please spare him. He is only five years old and has never done anything wrong. He is so cute and so pitiful. He should not continue to be harmed," Isabella cried.

Isabella's love for Paul surpassed the love of an ordinary mother for her child.

She loved Hugo and Justin, but towards Paul, in addition to this love, she also felt pity and heartache.

She felt sorry for Paul...

Frederick furrowed his brow, watching the woman on the monitor who was on the verge of breaking down.

She tightly gripped her phone, already a mess of tears. Her delicate body looked exceptionally fragile, on the verge of trembling and breaking down.

Was she lying? He saw it very clearly.

She cared so much about her son that she definitely wouldn't dare to lie.

So, she really never deliberately approached him...
