Chapter 197 Mommy, Can You Give Daddy a Chance?

Isabella's breath hitched, and she quickly turned around!

She saw Dennis looking at her in surprise. She pushed Frederick away and stumbled over to Dennis.

Her whole body trembled, and her breathing was rapid. "Dennis!"

Dennis was both surprised and delighted as he said, "Mommy? Is it really Mommy? Mommy didn't leave? Am I dreaming?"

Isabella's tears immediately flowed, and she hugged Dennis tightly as she answered, "It's really Mommy! Mommy didn't leave! Dennis isn't dreaming! Mommy won't leave!"

Dennis's breathing became rapid as he uttered, "Mommy."

"Yes, Mommy is here!"

"Mommy!" Dennis buried his head in Isabella's arms and started crying.

Like his father, Dennis had a cold personality and usually spoke little, but at this moment, he was crying uncontrollably.

No matter how strong he usually was, he was always a child in front of his mommy.

Dennis cried, Isabella cried, and the mother and son hugged each other and cried their hearts out.

This was the first day the mother and son recognized each other, and the emotions were understandably intense!

Frederick stood aside, watching with a slight frown, as if he were an outsider!

Who was really the child's parent? Wasn't she unwilling to admit she was Dennis's mother? Why was she crying while hugging him now?

Frederick was about to say something when Dennis spoke first, "Daddy, can you go out for a bit? I want to talk to Mommy alone."

Seeing Dennis's pleading eyes, Frederick couldn't bear to refuse. He gave Isabella a meaningful look, nodded, and left.

As soon as Frederick left, Isabella started crying and blaming herself, "Dennis, I'm sorry. Mommy didn't know about your existence."

Dennis sobbed, his small shoulders shaking, feeling very wronged.

Although he had never hoped for Mommy to apologize, he had always missed her terribly. However, he knew Mommy didn't abandon him on purpose!

"I know, Mommy; don't cry. I don't blame you. I'm just happy! I finally have a Mommy."

For other kids, having a Mommy was normal, but for him, it was a luxury.

Isabella broke down as she cried, "It's Mommy's fault. Mommy was so stupid. I didn't even know you existed. I always thought I only had Hugo, Justin, and Paul. I never expected to have you too.

Mommy hasn't been a good Mommy. Over the years, I have neither taken care of you nor shown you concern. I left you to live independently, bearing hardships alone. It is entirely my fault, and I deeply apologize to you."

"I know about what happened between you and Daddy back then. I don't blame you at all. You're the best Mommy in the world! Mommy did nothing wrong. The ones at fault are Daddy and the person who separated us!

And Mommy, don't be sad. Daddy has treated me well all these years. I haven't suffered much, just missed you a lot.

I really miss you, Mommy. I miss you so much," Dennis said.

Hearing this, Isabella's heart broke, and she cried uncontrollably, "If I had known about you, I would have come to find you sooner! I would never have abandoned you. My heart hurts so much!

I'm so mad at myself! How could I be so stupid, not even knowing how many children I have?"

Isabella was so sad and mad at herself!

What kind of mother doesn't even know how many children she has? She was so stupid!

She was crying at her stupidity!

Isabella hugged Dennis tightly as she remarked, "Mommy will never leave you again! No matter what happens in the future, Mommy will never leave Dennis! Not even in death!"

Dennis quickly said, "I don't want Mommy to die."

"Yes, Mommy won't die, and won't leave Dennis!"

"Okay!"

The mother and son hugged and cried for a long time.

After calming down, Isabella wiped her tears and helped Dennis wipe his, then said firmly to Dennis, "From now on, Dennis will no longer be a child without a Mommy. Mommy will always be with Dennis! We will never be separated again!"

"Yes!"

Isabella choked up as she said, "Dennis, knowing about you, Mommy feels very guilty, but also very happy."

Dennis's little face was flushed. "I'm very happy too."

Isabella hugged Dennis again and, taking advantage of Frederick's absence, cautiously asked, "Dennis, would you be willing to go with Mommy?"

"Go? Where?"

"Leave Teronica, anywhere is fine. We'll go with Hugo, Justin, and Paul."

"What about Daddy?"

"He'll stay in Teronica."

"But if I leave, he'll miss me."

Isabella fell silent.

Dennis held her hand and gently asked, "Mommy, don't you really like Daddy?"

Dennis asked directly, and Isabella didn't hide it. "Yes, I don't like him."

"Because he hurt you back then, you hate him?"

"I used to hate him, but because of you, that hatred has faded. Now, Mommy just doesn't like him," said Isabella.

"Then, what don't you like about Daddy?"

"I don't like his bad temper and his always superior attitude. In short, Mommy won't be with him."

Dennis murmured, "Daddy likes Mommy. He's been looking for Mommy all these years. He knows he was wrong back then."

Isabella shook her head as she remarked, "He doesn't even know what I look like. How could he like me? I think he's not genuinely in love with me. He's just trying to make up for what happened back then to ease his conscience."

Dennis fell silent.

Isabella was afraid Dennis would be sad and was about to say something when Dennis suddenly asked, "They say love grows over time. Can you give Daddy a chance?"

'No!' Isabella responded instantly in her heart.

But seeing Dennis's pleading eyes, she couldn't bear to say such heartless words. She uttered, "Dennis."

"I know this request is a bit difficult for you, but Daddy has taken care of me for many years. I can't just abandon him. I hope you can give him a chance.

If you still don't like him after some time, I'll give up. I'll go with you, and we can just keep in touch with him occasionally."

Dennis's promise to go with her made Isabella very happy, but... She explained, "I'm just worried he'll be obsessed. Once he knows I'm the one he's been looking for, he won't let me go."

Dennis said, "Mommy, don't worry about that. During the time you stay and get along with Daddy, I won't let him find out your identity."

"But he's already done a paternity test. The results will be out tomorrow."

Dennis frowned slightly as he said, "I'll find a way to handle this."

"Huh? How will you handle it?"

"Mommy, don't worry. I'll take care of it. I won't let him find out about you."

"Really?"

"Trust me, Mommy. I can do it! And during this time, I won't force you to like Daddy."

Isabella let out a sigh of relief as she replied, "Okay! I promise you!"

Dennis's eyes lit up. He spoke happily, "Mommy promised not to leave for now and to get along with Daddy for a while?"

"Yes! I promised you!"
