Chapter 44 Isabella Isn't Very Poor, Is She?
"You make a valid point. However, the elderly often say that if you don't get married and have children when you're young, you will regret it when you're older," Isabella said.
Freya was very carefree. "It doesn't matter. We only live once. I live my own life. As long as I'm happy, it's all good.
"And as you said, can emotions be forced? I'm not planning to stay single forever. It's just that my Prince Charming hasn't shown up yet. When he does, there won't be any need for anyone to push, because I'll be the one clamoring to get married."
Freya suddenly changed the subject and asked, "What about you? What do you think? Will you get married in the future?"
Isabella shook her head. "I have tasted the bitterness of marriage, so I don't want to find another man. Besides, I already have children, so I won't be lonely even when I grow old."
Freya leaned in closer to her and said with a playful smile, "Yours is mine. From today on, I also have children. I won't be lonely when I'm old. If I stay single, I'll cling to you and your children when I get old."
Just as she finished speaking, Freya's stomach started growling. She said, "I should have some late-night snacks."
"You really are a foodie. I'll go cook for you."
"No, it's late. I'll order takeout instead. I'll go check if my three little ones are asleep. If they're still awake, I'll order some extra food."
The three children had already fallen asleep, so Freya ordered skewers and beer.
They enjoyed the food and chatted happily, just like they used to do in their college dormitory years ago.
After Frederick returned from Wavecrest Restaurant, he went straight to the hospital. He stayed by Dennis's bedside and didn't sleep all night.
Nicholas couldn't stand the methods Jared used and had already revealed everything he knew.
Nicholas heard that Frederick wanted Isabella to treat Dennis for bipolar disorder, so he approached Isabella proactively.
Isabella didn't lie. She really didn't know Nicholas.
And when they met at the bar that day, it was also a coincidence.
He sent someone to the bar again. Isabella went to the bar in the afternoon to apply for a part-time job as a bartender, while he decided to go to the bar to find Douglas in the evening.
So, Isabella had no idea she would go to the bar before she went there to apply for a job.
He misunderstood Isabella for both of these things.
The mysterious person set off a smoke bomb in the basement to save someone, keeping their location hidden. The mysterious person took over his business, breached his security system, and sent a warning letter, accusing him of bullying a little girl. He was still clueless.
Did that person really say the little girl wasn't Isabella?
He bullied the little girl.
He 'bullied' not only Isabella, but also his estranged wife whom he had never met!
He had been using this marriage to deal with Alison all along.
Recently, his "wife" wanted to divorce him, but he has been unwilling to do so.
Was that person who stole his business trying to vent her anger?
Frederick's face darkened, without even checking the time, he took out his phone and called the Rose Garden.
He called her and asked her to meet up tomorrow.
He wanted to meet her in person to see if the person behind her was really as amazing as they say!
The next day, Isabella was woken up by the ringing of her phone. It was a call from Daniel.
He explained that he got drunk the night before, so he didn't contact her. He asked her how she was doing and whether Glen had caused any trouble for her again.
Isabella said everything was fine and not to worry.
Daniel insisted on knowing her location and wanted to come over to see her.
After Isabella hung up the phone, Freya asked her, "Is Daniel coming over?"
"Yes, he said to come over and see me for Eleanor."
"His will to survive was quite strong. If Eleanor knew you had returned but Daniel didn't come to see you, she would definitely scold him."
Isabella smiled and said, "He said so himself."
They didn't chat much either. Because a gentleman was coming to their house, they quickly got up and freshened up.
Isabella didn't know that Rose Garden also called her last night.
She didn't see the missed call.
Last night she got drunk. Thinking about what happened in the Rose Garden made her upset, so under the influence of alcohol, she blacklisted that phone number.
At this moment, she had already woken up, but completely forgotten about that thing.
So, the phone number for the Rose Garden was still on her blacklist...
Half an hour later, Daniel arrived.
Isabella stood at the door, warmly welcoming him.
They didn't notice that someone nearby was taking photos with a camera, and soon this photo appeared in front of Frederick.
Elliot said to Frederick, "This is the photo I took while following Daniel as you instructed. No wonder we couldn't find Ms. Beniere's address before. Turns out she lived at Wheat Homestay. The owner of this bed and breakfast has a son who is a hacker. Although he isn't very well-known, he knows quite a few skilled hackers. The cybersecurity system of this bed and breakfast is particularly strong."
The cybersecurity system was strong? Then the prices at this store should not be cheap.
Frederick asked, "Isn't she very poor? Where did she get the money to stay in such a nice Airbnb?"
"The landlady of this bed and breakfast gave special care, charging her only 20 dollars per night."
"What?"
"The landlady like Ms. Beniere's sons very much. If it weren't for the concern that Ms. Beniere would think too much and then not dare to stay, the landlady wouldn't have charged any fees."
Frederick looked at him skeptically, his expression saying, "I don't believe it!"
Elliot said, "It's true. You can ask her yourself."
Frederick didn't know that all of this had been arranged in advance by Hugo. He didn't think much about it and asked again, "Have you figured out the relationship between Daniel and Isabella?"
