Chapter 15 At This Point, There Is No Room for Choice
Douglas knew Frederick well. He only cared about Dennis's birth mother. He had been very abstinent over the years.
Although many women had tried to seduce him, none had gotten close to him.
Alison had had more contact with him, but she hadn't gotten close to him either.
Frederick was a bit annoyed. The image of Isabella tiptoeing, one hand around him, the other hand tugging at his tie, kissing him, keeps flashing in his mind.
Douglas observed his silence and didn't press further. He said, "Although your feelings for Dennis's birth mother are touching, it's unknown whether she's alive or not, let alone whether she's remarried. If she has a husband and children now, leading a happy life, you can't force them apart. There are many ways to repay kindness. You don't have to marry her. You've kept away from women for six years. But she might be lying in another man's arms right now."
Frederick gave him a cold look.
Douglas smiled and said, "Don't be angry. I mean, if that's the case, let me give you some advice. One should enjoy happiness in time. After all, you're a man who has experienced love. It's been six years since you last slept with a woman. Aren't you anxious?"
Frederick flicked the ash off his cigarette. "I'm not as lustful as you."
Douglas laughed, "I was worried your one would break if you didn't use it for a long time."
"You should be more concerned about using too much and wearing it out."
"I'm not afraid. I'm healthy."
Frederick rolled his eyes at him. His phone suddenly rang. It was a call from John. He said anxiously, "Mr. Frederick, Dennis refuses to eat dinner again. He hasn't taken a single bite so far. I'm worried that his body won't be able to take it."
Frederick asked coldly, "Why won't he eat?"
"I don't know. Dennis won't speak."
Frederick felt very frustrated. Recently, Dennis had been speaking less and less. On average, he didn't say a word a day.
"I got it."
Frederick hung up the phone, extinguished his cigarette in the ashtray, and got up to leave.
Douglas asked, "Dennis?"
"Yes. He won't eat. You guys have fun. I'll leave first. I'll treat you tonight. You can use my card later."
Frederick walked out. The people in the private room immediately stopped what they were doing to see him off.
Frederick waved his hand, indicating that they should continue, and quickly left.
A group of people surrounded Douglas.
"Douglas, Frederick just arrived. Why did he leave so soon?"
Douglas shook his head helplessly. "He went home to be with Dennis."
They were all friends, and they knew about Dennis's situation. They sighed, "These years, Frederick has taken on the roles of both father and mother. He's been through a lot. Where did Dennis's mother go?"
"How could she not want such an outstanding man like Frederick? Is she foolish?"
Douglas narrowed his eyes. "Who are you calling foolish? I think it's you. You dare to insult the woman Frederick cares about the most. "
The person who spoke realized what he had said and quickly gave himself a slap. "I won't dare to say it again."
"Alright. You know how important she is to Frederick. Don't talk behind her back. Have fun with your gathering. Frederick is treating, so enjoy yourselves. Don't be polite."
The private room became lively again. Douglas smoked alone.
In fact, he felt sorry for Frederick. He was successful in his career, but he was pitiful in love!
Douglas sighed, thinking that outstanding men were often troubled by women. So, he didn't invest in love, only having one-night stands with women. He lived a much easier life that way.
...
Meanwhile, Isabella had already left in a taxi.
When she thought about the scene where she had kissed Frederick, her face still blushed with shyness.
She had never imagined herself taking the initiative like that.
Back in college, her friends, Freya Rivera and Eleanor Rogers, used to call her the representative of the conservative faction.
Isabella remembered Frederick's angry expression and couldn't help but pout in dissatisfaction.
She thought, 'He acted as if I had bullied him. If it weren't to shut him up, I wouldn't have kissed him. I even gave him 50 dollars. That's enough for me to buy three sets of autumn clothes for my three children. I'm really unlucky.'
As Isabella was lost in her thoughts, a luxury car suddenly rushed in front of them, blocking their way.
Two men in black got out of the car and forcibly dragged her out, heading towards the side of the road.
Isabella panicked. She struggled and shouted, "Who are you? Let me go! Let me go!"
She was driven to a bridge. A woman dressed in luxury was waiting for her.
Isabella looked at her and felt a sense of familiarity.
But because the woman was wearing a mask and sunglasses, Isabella couldn't recognize her.
Just as she was about to ask, the woman slapped her directly. "You wench!"
Isabella was stunned.
She was restrained by two bodyguards. She couldn't fight back, so she could only shout, "Who are you? How dare you hit me!"
"You shameless wench! You dare to seduce my man. I think you don't want to live!"
The woman slapped Isabella again. Isabella's face stung, and she was filled with anger.
"You're the one who's shameless! Are you crazy? Who did I seduce? You make yourself clear!"
Alison grabbed her chin and squeezed it hard. She glared at Isabella and said, "You dare to seduce him, but you don't dare to admit it. You wench! I warn you, Frederick is a man you can never reach in your lifetime. Only I am worthy of him!"
"If you dare to seduce him again, I will kill you! Don't think that just because you're a little prettier, you can marry into a wealthy family!"
"You destroy her face. Her face disgusts me!"
"What will you use to seduce Frederick when your face is ruined?" Isabella saw the man next to her take out a dagger, and she was shocked.
She thought, 'After she beats me, does she want to disfigure me too? How can she be so excessive?'
Isabella stepped on the toe of one of the men. When he was in pain and let go, she quickly took out the mace from her bag and sprayed it at the two men!
This mace was prepared by Justin, and it was powerful.
The two bodyguards were in pain, rubbing their eyes.
Isabella's hands were freed, and she grabbed Alison's collar, starting to slap her.
She slapped Alison several times in a row before venting her anger, warning, "I don't know you, and I don't know who Frederick is. Stay away from me. Don't think I'm easy to bully! If you dare to cause trouble for me again, I will call the police!"
After she finished speaking, she pushed Alison away and ran away immediately.
She ran very fast, and in an instant, she crossed the street and ran to the other side.
Alison was still wearing high heels. She sprained her foot on the spot. Her face and foot were in pain. She sat on the ground, crying and shouting, "Go kill that wench! If you don't kill her, then all of you can go to hell!"
The bodyguards, despite their stinging eyes, quickly went after Isabella.
Just as they caught up to the other side, a sinister male voice suddenly came from behind them.
"Stop!"
