Chapter 95 Meeting Her Was My Luck?

The ground was slick, and Isabella was struggling to keep her balance on her bike, barely making any progress.

Frederick watched her awkward attempt, rolled his eyes, and decided to head home.

On his way, he bumped into his neighbor, Todd Bailey, who was taking out the trash.

Todd had been around for years and knew Frederick's mom well, so Frederick was familiar with him too.

Todd was a chatterbox, and as soon as he saw Frederick, he asked, "Frederick, you're back alone? Where's Isabella?"

"She had something to take care of and left early."

"Left? Aren't you two living together yet?"

Frederick's mouth twitched, "You've got it wrong, we're not a couple."

"Alright, alright, no need to be shy about dating. Let me tell you, I'm good at reading people. Isabella's a gem. Whoever marries her is lucky. You’re lucky to have met her. Don’t let someone else take her away."

Frederick didn't respond.

Just as he walked into the house, Douglas called out, "Frederick, it's almost noon, are you ready? Don't forget your date with Isabella!"

"I'll be there soon," he replied.

After hanging up, he told Dennis, "I have to go out. Let John stay with you. I just brought back your favorite sandwich. Eat up."

Dennis didn't say anything, just went to the dining room and sat in the high chair, waiting.

Frederick frowned slightly, gave Dennis a long look, and told John, "Call me if anything comes up."

Without any traffic, Frederick got to the café a bit earlier than Isabella.

He waited for her in a private room on the second floor, with Douglas there too.

Seeing Isabella struggling with her bike through the floor-to-ceiling window, Douglas said, "Isabella must be crazy, not taking a cab in this cold weather and riding a bike instead."

"She's poor, but also stubborn."

"You really should buy her a car. What if she gets frostbite? Wouldn't you feel bad?"

Frederick gave him a look, took a drag of his cigarette, and kept watching Isabella.

She was shaking off the snow from her clothes, then carefully took off Dennis's scarf, folded it, and put it in her pocket.

Douglas added, "Why is she in such a hurry to see you? She didn't even put on makeup, clearly not trying to impress you."

Frederick was curious too. He didn't know her at all. What was her deal in asking Douglas to set up this meeting?

Isabella had no idea they were watching her. She was nervous about meeting Frederick!

She stood at the door, took several deep breaths, and then walked in.

A man was sitting at the arranged spot.

From Isabella's angle, she could only see the back of his head. Although she couldn't see his face, he seemed like a successful person.

It must be Frederick!

Isabella forced herself to calm down, clenched her small hands, and walked over, "Hello, I..."

"Hmm? Isabella?" Arnold Sanders was surprised to see Isabella.

Isabella was also stunned, not expecting to see an old acquaintance here.

She quickly took out her phone to check the table number Douglas had sent, then looked at the table.

After confirming, she was puzzled, "Why are you here?"

Arnold smiled and said, "I have an appointment. Do you have one too?"

Isabella nodded blankly.

Arnold asked, "Has your person not arrived yet?"

"Yeah, they should be here soon."

"Since neither of our appointments has arrived, let's chat for a bit."

Arnold warmly ordered a coffee for Isabella.

Isabella sat down reluctantly, feeling all sorts of confused.

Arnold said, "It's been years since I last saw you. How have you been?"

"Fine," Isabella took a sip of coffee, trying to calm herself.

Arnold continued, "Years ago, when you had that accident, Eleanor almost lost her life because of you. I heard she's been looking for you all these years. Now that you're back, she must be thrilled."

Arnold was also Isabella's senior, in the same grade as Daniel.

Arnold liked Eleanor and often sent snacks to their dorm to win her over.

To get close to Eleanor, he often tried to please her and Freya, so they all knew each other pretty well.

Isabella steadied herself, "Have you been in touch with her recently?"

"No, ever since she got together with Daniel, we lost contact. You know, I pursued her, so I had to avoid causing unnecessary trouble for her."

"I remember you studied directing. Are you a director now?"

"Yes, why?"

"Then you should know Eleanor's agent, right?"

"I know him, but we're not close and haven't been in touch. I have to avoid suspicion."

"Daniel and Freya said Eleanor's filming a movie and can't contact anyone outside the crew because of a confidentiality agreement. It's been over a year with no news. Do you have any information about her?"

Arnold was shocked, "Missing for over a year? That shouldn't be. Confidentiality agreements are common, but I've never heard of actors not being able to contact their families. Even if the film is confidential, the actors just need to keep the script content secret."

Arnold's words made Isabella even more worried, "Can you find out for me? We've had no news from her, and I'm a bit concerned."

"Sure, I'll look into it when I get back. If I find anything, I'll let you know immediately. Let's add each other on Facebook."

"Okay!"

After exchanging contact information, Isabella couldn't help but ask, "Did you book this table for your appointment?"

"Yes."

"But that's strange. I also booked this table for my appointment."

Arnold paused, then understood instantly, "You have an appointment with Frederick?"

"Yes!"

Arnold instinctively glanced at the second floor, his mouth twitching.

Well, the cover was blown!

Arnold was Frederick's friend. He had just returned from abroad today and was immediately roped in by Frederick.

Frederick had asked him to meet someone on his behalf, just to listen to what she had to say.

Who would have thought that the person Frederick was supposed to meet was Isabella!

Isabella also realized something. She stared at Arnold for a moment, gritting her teeth, "Frederick asked you to impersonate him to meet me?"

Arnold didn't say anything.

Isabella instantly got angry. She picked up her phone and called Douglas!

Douglas's phone rang, startling him, "Oh no, the cover is blown! You're getting me into trouble! If you're going to find someone to impersonate, at least find someone Isabella doesn't know! Now what? How am I supposed to explain this? Huh?"

Frederick's face darkened, and he didn't say anything.

He hadn't expected Isabella to know Arnold, a reputable director with a background in directing, and thought if he needed someone to act, a professional would be the best choice.

Douglas's phone kept ringing. He reluctantly answered, "Hello."

"What does Frederick mean by this?"

Douglas pretended to know nothing, "Hmm? What's wrong? Didn't Frederick go to the appointment?"
