Chapter 17 This Woman Is Not as Stupid as He Thought

At this moment, the atmosphere in the Grand Mansion, a huge villa, turned icy.

Frederick carried the spaghetti he had cooked himself upstairs.

Dennis sat by the window, gazing in the direction of the front door.

His small figure seemed lonely.

Frederick felt a pang in his heart and walked over. "Dennis, have some spaghetti first."

Dennis remained motionless; his eyes fixed on the door.

Frederick placed the spaghetti on the small table in front of Dennis.

"Your Mommy would be sad if she knew you weren't eating."

Dennis's bewildered eyes lit up.

He looked at Frederick and asked, "Do you think Mommy would know?"

"Yes. A mother and child share an emotional bond. She would know whatever you're feeling. So, she would know you're not eating."

"If I miss her, would she know that I miss her?"

"Yes."

"If she knows I miss her, why hasn't she come back to see me?"

Frederick felt a wave of sadness and thought, 'Indeed. Her son misses her, but that woman hasn't returned. Where could she be?'

'Why hasn't she come back to see Dennis?'

'Why hasn't she come back to see me?'

"Doesn't she like me?"

Dennis asked, his voice filled with sadness.

Frederick immediately shook his head. "No, that's not it. She definitely loves you."

"Why doesn't she come back to see me, then?"

Frederick suppressed his sadness and ruffled Dennis's hair.

"She might be temporarily unable to come for other reasons."

"Do you mean she's in danger?"

Frederick didn't answer, but Dennis suddenly stood up and ran outside.

Frederick immediately grabbed him. "Dennis, where are you going?"

"I'm going to find Mommy! Mommy is in danger, so I have to save her!"

"Dennis, don't overthink it. She's not in danger."

"Let go of me! I have to find Mommy! She must have been taken by bad people! I have to save her! Let go of me! Let go! No one can hurt my Mommy!"

"Dennis!"

It was already late, so Frederick didn't dare let Dennis go and held onto his arm tightly.

"Dennis, calm down!"

Dennis didn't calm down and suddenly became frantic. He fiercely bit Frederick's wrist.

Frederick instinctively let go of Dennis, and Dennis rushed to the door.

Frederick immediately blocked his way.

Dennis became even more agitated because he couldn't get out.

He started throwing things. He smashed the ornaments in the room, the beddings, the clock on the table, the clothes in the wardrobe, and the spaghetti Frederick had just brought up.

Dennis smashed everything.

Despite that, he still felt angry and picked up a fork from the floor, intending to harm himself.

Frederick was terrified and immediately held onto Dennis.

"Dennis!"

Dennis frantically resisted Frederick's restraint, but he failed.

He began to scream.

Dennis became even more furious.

His whole body trembled, and he gritted his teeth.

After a long roar, Dennis suddenly passed out.

Frederick immediately panicked. "Dennis!"

He picked up Dennis and hurried downstairs.

John was surprised to see this. "Mr. Frederick, what happened to Dennis?"

"Call Elijah. Get the car ready! We're going to the hospital! Hurry!"

...

After more than half an hour of treatment at the hospital, Dennis's condition finally stabilized.

Elijah was covered in cold sweat.

"He's fine now. Fortunately, you brought him to the hospital quickly."

Frederick sat by the hospital bed, looking at Dennis's pale face, feeling heartbroken.

Elijah said, "Dennis's condition is getting worse. He must recover quickly. Otherwise, he might die. Frederick, are you sure you won't let Ms. Beniere try? I still think she can be trusted. Maybe she can help Dennis recover."

Frederick frowned and thought for a moment.

He said, "Wait for a while. Arrange for someone else to take care of Dennis first."

Frederick hadn't investigated Isabella clearly, so he was not at ease.

Dennis meant everything to Frederick, so he wouldn't allow anyone who might harm Dennis to get close to him.

There were too many mysteries surrounding Isabella, so Frederick didn't dare to let her approach Dennis easily.

Elijah didn't know what Frederick was waiting for, but he didn't ask. Elijah could only nod helplessly.

"By the way, Alison is also in the hospital because her hands and legs are injured. Her injuries are serious. Her leg is broken."

Frederick asked, "What happened?"

"I heard someone hit her."

Just as Elijah finished speaking, Frederick's phone rang. It was Alison.

“Eric, I just heard that Dennis is in the hospital. What's going on? Is he in serious condition? Is he sick again? I'm also in the hospital now. I want to go see Dennis, but the doctor won't let me get out of bed. I'm really worried about Dennis. I'm really worried about him."

Listening to her false concern, Frederick felt annoyed and suppressed his anger.

Frederick said, "Dennis is fine now. You don't need to come. You should focus on recovering from your injuries."

"Do you already know that I'm injured? Can you come and see me?"

Frederick was annoyed, but he agreed.

"I'll come over later."

After hanging up the phone, Frederick gave Elijah a few instructions and went to see Alison.

When Alison saw Frederick, she started to cry, her eyes turning red.

“Eric, how is Dennis? I'm really worried about him."

Frederick ignored her tears and sat down.

"You don't need to worry about Dennis. Your task is to take care of yourself."

Alison wiped her tears. “Eric, do you like that woman?"

"Who?"

"The woman who kissed you at the bar today."

Frederick frowned but didn't say anything.

Alison's eyes turned red.

She continued, "You never let women get close to you before, let alone allow a woman to kiss you. There is no other woman who can stand by your side except me. But today, you let her kiss you."

Frederick suddenly remembered the scene where Isabella kissed him. He frowned and said coldly, "That was an accident."
