Chapter 37 The Once Poor Boy, Now a Different Person!
Frederick kept staring in the direction Isabella left until Douglas came to him, and only then did he avert his gaze.
Douglas stood next to Frederick, lit a cigarette, and smiled as he asked, "What is the relationship between you and that girl?"
"It's okay."
"It's okay? Then why didn't you save her?"
Today, Frederick's behavior was quite unusual. Although he wasn't a good person, he was very honest.
And the girl was seeking help in his restaurant, which indicates that there was a disturbance in his restaurant.
He just ignored it and then directly kicked the girl out.
If it were another girl, he would definitely have asked Elliot to investigate as well.
'He acted so unusually, that girl must be extraordinary!' Douglas thought.
So Douglas was certain that Frederick and that girl were definitely involved.
Shortly after the girl left, Frederick got so angry and started smoking.
He looked irritated at first glance.
The girl affected his mood.
The woman who could affect his mood definitely wasn't an ordinary girl.
"Are you my good friend, even hiding things from me? Don't forget, I am a love expert. When it comes to women, I know best. I can be your emotional advisor for free. Tell me about any emotional issues you're facing, and I'll give you some advice."
Frederick took a drag of his cigarette, impatiently saying, "A purposeful woman doesn't need to say much."
Isabella had explained it very clearly, but Frederick still didn't believe her.
"What? She wanted to climb onto your bed?"
Frederick glared at Douglas and continued smoking.
Douglas smiled. "It's a good thing to want to climb onto your bed, she's so pretty, you hit the jackpot."
When she appeared, the group of people in the private room all widened their eyes, almost drooling. Even Adam, who was usually quiet, was shocked.
"She's into you, and this is your luck. Don't fail to distinguish between good and bad," Douglas teased.
"Get lost!" Frederick growled.
"Don't be angry, I'm serious. If she were ugly, I definitely wouldn't let you choose her, but she is beautiful and has a great figure. What a perfect woman. If I hadn't smelled the unique fruity fragrance on her, I would have pursued her."
Frederick was disgusted with Douglas.
"Didn't you just start dating a new girl yesterday? And now you don't love her anymore?"
Douglas was not shy at all. "You said it, that was yesterday."
Frederick kept his mouth shut and didn't say a word. He glanced at him disdainfully and continued smoking.
Douglas said again, "You're not young anymore. Staying home alone every day, aren't you lonely?"
"Not lonely."
When he was alone, he always thought of Dennis's birth mother. He thought of her every day and didn’t feel lonely.
Before Douglas could respond, Frederick spoke again, "She was acting on someone's orders, her approaching me might not necessarily be to climb into my bed."
Douglas then became serious, narrowing his eyes as he asked, "What do you mean? Is someone trying to get something from you using women?"
"Yes."
"Who? The Valdemar family members?"
Frederick frowned. "I'm not sure either, but she met with Nicholas privately."
Douglas took a deep drag on his cigarette and curiously asked, "If you knew she was getting angry when she approached you, why didn't you quickly ask her to leave instead of letting her get closer to you?"
Frederick's expression deepened. "She is skilled in child psychology and was able to help Dennis recover. Albert had a recent illness, and she was the one who cured him."
"What?!" This time Douglas was completely serious!
He was surprised. "The beautiful sister that Albert mentioned is her?"
"Yes."
Douglas exclaimed, "Oh my goodness! Thank goodness today, because of you, I didn't tease her, otherwise my sister would have killed me!"
Albert's mother, Mrs. Perry, was Douglas's biological sister.
As the saying goes, it was best to discipline your younger brother when he was still young. Once he grew up, he might be too strong to handle.
When Britney was young, she used to bully Douglas without feeling sorry at all, which has led to Douglas feeling nervous whenever he sees her now.
Yesterday when he went to see Albert, Britney cried and told him that after three years, she finally heard Albert call her "mommy."
She also said that Ms. Beniere, who saved Albert, was beautiful, gentle, excellent, and a perfect woman.
He then said, "The perfect woman, could you introduce her to me?"
Britney raised her hand and slapped him hard, causing his ears to ring.
"If you dare to bully Ms. Beniere, I will kill you! Don't even think about defiling her!"
Now, every member of the Perry family is extremely grateful to Isabella.
Douglas remembered being beaten up yesterday and still felt terrified. He swallowed hard and then said, "Eric, today you saved me!"
Frederick was speechless.
Douglas calmed down his emotions and then asked, "What do you think now? If she was sent by the Valdemar family, we definitely need to be cautious of her and not let her get close to Dennis."
"I know."
"But I heard my sister say she's very capable. If she's really that capable, not letting her get close to Dennis would be Dennis's loss."
Douglas posed a question.
Frederick wanted nothing to do with Isabella, but he had to consider Dennis's situation.
He didn't want to miss the chance to cure Dennis. He didn't want to miss even a glimmer of hope.
