Chapter 198 Isabella, Do You Have to Be So Stubborn?
Dennis was so excited that he hugged Isabella tightly, saying, "Thank you, Mommy."
Isabella affectionately patted Dennis's head as she uttered, "Silly child, you are Mommy's precious baby, no need to thank Mommy."
Dennis's stomach growled.
Laughing, she asked, "Are you hungry?"
Dennis nodded awkwardly, answering, "A little."
"Let me see what's in the fridge, I'll make something for you."
"Okay."
Dennis lived in a high-end suite, complete with a kitchen, study, bathroom, and various living amenities.
Isabella got up to go to the kitchen to make something for Dennis, and Dennis took the opportunity to think about the paternity test.
He picked up his smartwatch and saw many messages and missed calls from Hugo, Justin, and Paul.
Dennis glanced towards the kitchen and called Hugo.
Hugo answered immediately, "Dennis, you're awake?"
"Yeah, don't worry about me, I'm fine now."
"That's good. Did you see the messages we sent you?"
"I did, but I've already talked to Mommy. She agreed to stay for now and will spend some time with Daddy. If they don't end up liking each other, then she'll leave."
"Is Mommy doing this willingly?"
"Yes! If Mommy didn't want to, I would never force her. She's in a good mood right now, she's making food for me in the kitchen."
"Good, as long as Mommy is happy, we're relieved."
"But Mommy said she hopes that during this time with Daddy, he doesn't find out about her identity, so we need to figure out the paternity test issue."
Hugo said, "Don't worry about that. Justin and I already took care of it last night."
Hugo quickly explained what happened last night, and Dennis was touched as he said, "Thank you for all your hard work for me."
"No need to be polite between brothers. Moreover, we do this not solely for you, but also for me, and most importantly, for the well-being of our family."
"Yeah!" Dennis felt a surge of emotion, feeling like the happiest person in the world!
While the brothers were still talking, Frederick pushed open the door and came in.
The paternity test results were out! He didn't want to discuss this in front of Dennis, so he called Isabella out of the room to talk.
He frowned slightly, holding four file folders and uttering, "The paternity test results are out."
Isabella's heart skipped a beat!
She instinctively glanced back at the room.
So soon, did Dennis have time to handle it? If Dennis didn't have time to act, she would be exposed today! Once exposed, escaping would be nearly impossible!
Isabella furrowed her brows tightly, pinching the tender flesh of her palm, holding her breath, and resisting the urge to snatch and tear the files apart, staring intently at the folders.
Frederick saw her tension and felt a pang of sympathy as he said, "If you really don't want to see the results, you don't have to."
Isabella didn't understand, looking at him suspiciously.
Frederick said, "If it's you, it's you, it can't be changed. As long as you admit it, I won't open them. I didn't do the paternity test to scare you."
Isabella frowned. Was she afraid of these reports?
What she feared was the outcome, the revelation that would follow, and the subsequent possibility of being forcibly confined by him.
What she dreaded was spending the rest of her life in despondency, directly affecting the healthy development of the children, rendering her devoid of happiness henceforth, and erasing the smiles from the children's faces.
"Isabella, I didn't mean to force you, I..."
"Open it!" Isabella interrupted him, not listening to his explanation.
She wouldn't give in until the last moment!
Frederick was a bit annoyed by her stubbornness. She looked so soft, how could she be so stubborn?
She clearly loved Dennis so much, yet she refused to admit she was the person from back then.
Not admitting meant not acknowledging she was Dennis's mother, right?
She knew Dennis was obsessed with his mother, knew how much he wanted her back! How could she be so heartless? What was she thinking?
Frederick didn't know that Isabella and Dennis had already reunited. He was still foolishly doubting.
He stated, "Have you thought about Dennis? He never gave up on his mother. If he knew you were his real mom, he would be truly happy..."
"My matters with Dennis are none of your concern. Are you opening it or not? If not, I'm going back inside!" Isabella interrupted him again, frowning.
Frederick frowned. The atmosphere between him and Isabella was nothing like he had imagined for so many years!
He thought that after finding her, she would be angry, resentful, cry, and blame him for his past mistakes!
He never thought she would refuse to admit it!
Even he, the one who made the mistake, dared to admit it, but she, the victim, refused to. Why?
Frederick couldn't understand and said in a deep voice, "If this is the only way you'll admit it, then I'll open it! To prevent you from continuing to be unreasonable, I'll open it in front of you!
Look closely, I had four paternity tests done, all here. The seals on the folders are still intact, the reports inside are definitely real, not forged by me!"
Without giving Isabella a chance to speak, Frederick directly opened one of the folders.
Isabella's heart leaped! Her breathing became erratic!
She stared nervously as he slowly pulled out the report, her heart rising with it!
When the report was fully out of the folder, her heart was in her throat!
'Please, God, let it show that Dennis and I are not related!' Isabella prayed in her heart, her palms sweating.
Frederick read the report, then looked at her with a frown, and after a moment of silence, asked, "Do you want to see it?"
Isabella snatched it and took a look, her eyes widening instantly.
The result showed that she and Dennis had a 99.99999% DNA match, indicating a mother-son relationship!
Isabella's heart pounded like a drum!
Did Dennis not have time to act?
It was over; it was really exposed!
Frederick didn't say much, opened another folder, and the result was the same.
He handed the second report to Isabella, then opened the third, with the same result.
He knew very well that Isabella was the person he was looking for!
He didn't even need to look at the results of the four reports to know what it was!
So seeing that they showed she and Dennis were mother and son, he wasn't surprised at all.
Actually, he wasn't surprised, and neither was Isabella.
She was just scared! She had long known she was the person he was looking for, so she knew what the results would be.
But she always held onto a glimmer of hope! She hoped God would favor her, that the paternity test would have an unexpected result, that she wouldn't be recognized!
Hope was just hope; reality didn't always follow hope.
Isabella held the three open reports, panicking for a long time, her heart sinking to the bottom.
Before seeing the results, she was nervous, scared, anxious, and held onto a glimmer of hope.
Yet, now that she saw them, that glimmer of hope was gone.
She didn't want him to find out the truth, but she couldn't change reality. Since she couldn't change it, she had to accept it!
She would face him and make things clear!
