Chapter 36 So Handsome, But Has a Mouth!
Isabella stopped in her tracks. "Is he talking to me?"
She glanced back at Frederick, who was still looking straight ahead, his posture unchanged, and not looking at her.
"Was I hallucinating?"
She was just about to continue walking when she heard him say, "My patience is limited. If you're pretending not to care about me on purpose but actually want to catch my attention, you don't need to waste your energy. Why not just tell me directly what you're trying to get from me by approaching me in various ways?"
Isabella was now sure that she was not hearing things.
She looked around and saw only the two of them in the hallway. He was indeed talking to her.
Isabella couldn't bear it anymore. She turned around and walked briskly towards Frederick, stopping one meter away from him.
Isabella looked up and said to him, "My patience is also limited. I have explained it to you many times. I don't want to get close to you, I haven't even thought about getting to know you, let alone getting anything from you. Don't overthink it."
Frederick turned to look at her, his face so cold it could freeze the entire Teronica. "Those who deceive me with conspiracies will not end up well!" he warned.
Although Isabella was startled by his expression, she still forced herself to stay calm, looking up at him with her small face and saying,
"I'm not conspiring against you!" she retorted.
She knew she couldn't escape. She had to face the pressure and explain it to him clearly. Otherwise, the charges he made her bear would never be cleared.
"You've been suspicious of me all along, and now I want to ask you, what exactly do you mean? Do you have paranoia, or do you have some thoughts about me?" Isabella asked.
Frederick's face turned cold. "What do you have that's worth me forming an opinion about you?"
"Alright, since you think I'm worthless, please don't fantasize about me anymore and stop causing trouble for me in the future, okay? I crossed my bridge, you walked your path, we pretended not to know each other. Can we do that?"
"Wasn't it you who reached out to me first every time?"
"Which time? Can you be more specific?"
Frederick couldn't speak.
Isabella thought carefully and said, "If you won't say it, then I will!
"The first time, it was you who sent someone to the hotel to take me away. Even though you wanted to question Justin about scratching your car, you found me first. If you hadn't found me, I wouldn't have known of your existence.
"The second time, I was walking on the big road as usual, and you had someone catch me again, but after catching me, they let me go.
"The third time, I went to the bar to sell drinks, and unexpectedly ran into you. That time, indeed, I made you angry first, but I did it to make you stop talking. I didn't want you to expose me in front of Glen.
"The fourth time, I was taken away by Glen from the hospital entrance, and it was when you suddenly appeared that the subsequent events unfolded.
"The fifth time, I actively sought you out because your grandfather suddenly contacted me, said some strange things, and then unexpectedly gave me 20 thousand dollars. I went to the hospital to find you to give you back the money. Besides that, I also wanted to go see Dennis. He is the same age as my son, and I feel sorry for him.
"The sixth time, which is now, I was the one who barged into your room, but I can swear, I didn't mean to appear in front of you, and I had no idea you were in that room!
"If I lied in front of you, then let me never see my son again!"
Frederick remained silent.
He glared at Isabella with a dark expression, finding it difficult to argue with her.
Isabella said again, "You may look quite wealthy and handsome, but not everyone wants to get close to you, not everyone wants to take advantage of you.
"No matter what others' purposes are, I certainly don't have any!
"Today I said I would leave, and I truly intended to leave. However, someone canceled our appointment in the afternoon, which resulted in things that could have been done not being completed. Therefore, I will stay in Teronica for a few more days. It's not that I don't care about you, as you might think!
"I will not settle in Teronica. I no longer like this city. I will take my children to settle in another city, far away from here, far away from you!"
Frederick still remained silent.
"I have said all that needs to be said. Whether you believe it or not, the fact remains the same: I never wanted to know you, and I still don't want to know you!" Isabella finished speaking and then turned around and left.
She straightened her back, showing that she was unwilling to admit defeat.
The icy gaze behind her stared at her, but she kept her head held high and her back straight.
Until she turned a corner, escaping Frederick's gaze, she leaned against the wall, covering her chest, breathing heavily.
Isabella said she wasn't afraid of him, but she was lying to herself!
Frederick was always cold and ruthless. Even when he wasn't angry, he still managed to instill fear in others. When he was unhappy, he became even more terrifying!
When he stared at people, it was like a sharp sword, with the blade pointing directly at their eyeballs, the tip of the sword less than a millimeter away from the eyeball!
She said she wasn't afraid of Frederick, but that was impossible!
