Chapter 183 Mommy, Don't You Want Dennis Anymore?

Isabella's consciousness gradually returned, and the events of last night began to surface in her mind, causing her breathing to quicken.

He found out about her! He even mentioned the child!

'Run quickly!' she thought.

Just like last night, when she realized he recognized her, her first thought was to escape!

If she was recognized, she would run. That was her premeditated plan!

But now, she was tightly held in Frederick's arms. As soon as she moved, his eyebrows twitched.

Isabella was afraid that if she woke him up, she wouldn't be able to escape. She first put her phone on silent, then held her breath and stayed quietly in his arms for a while.

After making sure he was deeply asleep again, she carefully moved his hand from her waist.

Tiptoeing out of bed, she ran out of the bedroom and into the study.

It wasn't until she locked the door from the inside that she dared to take a deep breath!

She slid down the door, collapsing weakly to the floor.

The phone rang again; it was Freya calling.

Isabella knew Freya must be worried after waking up and not finding her. She steadied herself and answered, "Hello."

Freya's voice sounded anxious, "Isabella, where did you go? I woke up and couldn't find you at home."

"I had some trouble last night. I'm at Dennis's place now."

"What? You went to Dennis's place? What's going on with Dennis?"

"He's fine. Freya, can you take a day off today? Don't take Hugo, Justin, and Paul to school. Help me pack our things; I'll be back soon."

Freya was confused, asking, "Pack our things? Are you moving out?"

"Yes, wake up Hugo, Justin, and Paul and have them start packing too."

Freya was very worried as she inquired, "Isabella, what's going on?"

"It's a long story. I'll explain when I get back. I'm fine now, don't worry. Just do as I said," Isabella uttered.

After hanging up, Isabella took another deep breath.

Thinking about last night, she felt a wave of fear. She couldn't waste any more time and got up to change clothes.

"Mommy," Dennis's voice suddenly came from outside the door.

Isabella was startled. She quickly tidied her clothes and hair and opened the door, questioning, "Dennis, why do you get up so early?"

Dennis didn't answer, looking at her suspiciously. He asked, "Mommy, what's wrong?"

"What?"

"Here, here, and here. Are there mosquitoes in the house?"

Isabella touched here and there, realizing something. Her eyes widened, and she rushed to the bathroom.

Seeing herself in the mirror, Isabella almost went crazy!

Her face turned bright red!

Her neck was covered in his bite marks; They are very obvious!

'He was like a mad dog!' Isabella was furious and cursed him in her heart.

Dennis was still young and didn't know they were love bites. He was very worried about Isabella, standing at the bathroom door and asking, "Mommy, do you need me to call a doctor?"

"No!" Isabella quickly refused.

Dennis asked again, "Should I wake Daddy to get you some medicine?"

Wake him?

"No, I'm fine," Isabella responded to Dennis in a panic, quickly grabbing a towel to cover her neck and temporarily hide the bite marks.

She opened the bathroom door and said to Dennis, "Don't wake your daddy. He drank too much last night; let him sleep a bit more. Don't worry, I just got bitten by some bugs and had a bit of an allergic reaction. It's nothing serious."

Dennis was very worried, questioning, "An allergic reaction? Are you sure you don't need a doctor?"

"No need, I know how to treat it."

"Does it hurt?" Dennis asked again.

Isabella shook her head, replied, "No, it doesn't hurt."

"Does it itch?"

"No."

"Is it uncomfortable?"

"No."

Hearing this, Dennis finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Looking at Dennis, Isabella suddenly felt sad.

She had to leave today, but if she left, she might never see Dennis again.

Although he wasn't her biological son, their bond was real!

Dennis seemed to sense her sadness and became nervous again. He inquired worriedly, "What's wrong, Mommy? Are you uncomfortable? Should I call a doctor?"

Isabella felt a lump in her throat. She sniffed and shook her head, picking Dennis up and carrying him to his bedroom.

"I need to talk to you," said Isabella.

She was in a hurry to leave, but she couldn't bear to say goodbye to Dennis so hastily.

Dennis loved her, and she loved Dennis too!

He called her Mommy, and she truly saw him as her son.

If possible, she really wanted to take Dennis with her. After all, raising three sons was the same as raising four!

But she knew very well that it was impossible! Frederick wouldn't give her the chance!

Back in Dennis's bedroom, Isabella put him on the bed and had him lie down.

She checked him first, making sure his pulse was normal, then said to Dennis, "Dennis, do you remember what I told you before? If you really miss Mommy, you have to be good, eat well, sleep well, and grow up well. Because if you're good, she will be good too."

Dennis lay on the bed, looking at her and nodding obediently.

Isabella continued, "Everyone is an individual. There are meetings and partings, but parting doesn't mean love disappears. Do you understand?"

Dennis seemed to realize something, but wasn't sure. He frowned slightly, looking at Isabella nervously and shaking his head.

Isabella couldn't bear to see his expression, her nose stinging.

She controlled her emotions and explained, "Just like you and me. I know you like me, and I like you too. But we are individuals. You have your things to do, and I have mine, so we can't always be together."

Dennis suddenly sat up, emotionally, asking, "Mommy, are you going to leave me?"

Isabella didn't want to say it, but she nodded as she uttered, "Mommy might have to leave for a while. I have something very important to do."

Dennis's breathing quickened, inquiring, "What is it?"

"Personal business, Mommy doesn't want to say."

"How long will you be gone?"

"I don't know yet."

"Are Hugo, Justin, and Paul going too?"

"Yes."

Dennis's eyes turned red, questioning, "Will you come back?"

"I..."

Dennis understood and started crying, "Mommy, don't you want me anymore? Did I do something wrong to make you unhappy? I'll change, okay?"

Dennis cried hard, sobbing, "Mommy, tell me what I did wrong, and I'll change! If you want me to talk more, I'll talk more. If you want me to smile more, I'll smile more. If you want me to eat and grow tall, I'll eat a lot every meal, okay?"

Isabella's heart was breaking. She hugged Dennis tightly, tears streaming down as she responded, "No! Dennis did nothing wrong. Dennis is perfect! Dennis is the best and the most excellent child in the world! Dennis is Mommy's pride! I love Dennis very much! I will love Dennis, always and forever!"

Dennis hugged Isabella's waist tightly, his small shoulders shaking as he cried, "Mommy, can you not leave?"
