Chapter 133 Where Did You Get That Delusion?
Frederick didn't tell Elliot to park here. Instead, he had him drive down a small path, turn, and park at a secluded cliffside.
By the cliff, there was this old tree with a lot of history. Underneath it, there was a stone table and some stone stools, surrounded by flowers and plants.
The scenery was stunning, and Isabella was totally captivated. As soon as the car stopped, she jumped out.
The mixed fragrance of flowers and soil hit her, making her feel refreshed.
Looking around, there was a cliff waterfall ahead, a lawn with scattered stones underfoot, and blooming flowers all around. It was truly beautiful.
The winter climate was cold, and except for the hardy plum blossoms, most flowers wouldn't bloom.
So seeing these flowers swaying in the wind, Isabella was pretty surprised.
She asked, "Why are these flowers blooming in this season? Are they specially cultivated varieties? Is there someone taking care of them? What is this place?"
Elliot wanted to answer, but after glancing at Frederick and seeing he wasn't going to speak, he held back and just said, "The environment here is great, perfect for resting. Ms. Beniere can wait for us here."
On the stone table, there was a charcoal fire pot prepared in advance, roasting sweet potatoes, oranges, corn, peanuts, chestnuts, and more.
In the middle, there was a coffee pot, emitting a rich aroma.
Soft blankets were also prepared on the stone stools.
It was clear that these were prepared in advance, specifically for her.
Isabella was touched as she said, "Thank you, Elliot. That was thoughtful of you."
Elliot was taken aback and quickly said, "You're thanking the wrong person. Eric arranged all this. I'm just a careless person, not as meticulous as Eric."
This time, it was Isabella's turn to be surprised. She glanced at Frederick.
However, Frederick glared at her.
Isabella didn't say anything.
She thought, 'Could someone like him be so thoughtful?'
Hugo was also a bit surprised. He didn't expect Frederick to prepare charcoal and food for Isabella.
He glanced at Frederick, his gaze softening a bit, becoming less resistant.
A gentle breeze blew, swaying the wind chimes and ribbons hanging from the tree along with the leaves.
The wind chimes jingled, producing a pleasant sound.
A ribbon was blown off by the wind, landing at Frederick's feet.
He bent down to pick it up, seriously brushed off the dust, stared at the ribbon for three seconds, and then tiptoed to hang it back up.
Hugo saw the blessing words on it: May Natalie Griffin have a smooth life and good health in every lifetime.
Natalie Griffin?
Hugo turned to look at Isabella.
Isabella was just staring at the blooming flowers and didn't notice what was happening here.
Hugo then looked at Frederick, his eyes narrowing slightly. 'He and Natalie?' he thought.
"Dennis, let's go," Frederick called him.
Isabella's attention immediately shifted to them, "Are you leaving?"
Frederick didn't respond. Hugo gathered himself, nodded at her, and said, "I'll be back soon."
Isabella frowned, still not quite at ease.
Hugo walked over, whispered something in her ear, and Isabella's eyes lit up. She exclaimed, "Really?!"
Hugo nodded seriously as he said, "Wait for me here."
"Okay!" Isabella nodded repeatedly like an obedient little girl.
Hugo gave her a secret smile and left with Frederick.
He wasn't worried about Isabella's safety; the area was surrounded by bodyguards arranged by Frederick.
Today, Frederick had set up everything for Isabella, from the charcoal and food to the secret bodyguards, and Hugo's attitude towards him had noticeably improved.
As they hiked up the mountain, Frederick broke the silence, "What did you say to her?"
Hugo grinned, "That's a secret."
Frederick just pursed his lips and switched topics, "Dennis, were you mad at me this morning?"
Hugo knew exactly what he meant and didn't hesitate, "You were rude to her, and I wasn't happy."
"Isabella? Just because I glared at her?"
"Yeah, I don't want you glaring at her or giving her a hard time! She's good to me, so I'll be good to her. She takes care of me, so I'll protect her. Besides, women often have it tougher. She's sweet and gentle, and she deserves to be treated right."
Frederick was quiet for a few seconds before saying, "What if she has feelings for me?"
"Huh? What feelings?" Hugo asked, looking puzzled.
"She likes me."
Hugo burst out laughing, clearly mocking him.
Whether Isabella liked him or not, Hugo knew best.
If it weren't for Dennis, Isabella would stay far away from him!
It's not liking; it's clearly dislike.
"Where did you get the idea that she likes you?"
Hugo's mockery was so obvious that Frederick's expression became quite interesting.
He hadn't seen him laugh in a long time, and now that he did, it was mockery.
Unable to say that she was seducing him in front of a child, he could only say, "I said hypothetically."
"Then it's your luck," Hugo replied.
"Huh?"
"If she likes you, it's your luck," Hugo repeated.
Frederick's expression was complicated.
Dennis only had his mommy in his heart and was very resistant to other women, fearing they would take his mommy's place.
He thought Dennis would be very resistant upon hearing that Isabella liked him, but unexpectedly...
"You like her that much?!" Frederick couldn't help but ask.
Hugo looked at him seriously as he answered, "I like her a lot! Very much!"
Frederick inquired persistently, "So much that you'd rather she take your mommy's place, rather I be with her?"
Hugo frowned.
Isabella only had him as a man, but he didn't have only Isabella as a woman.
Isabella would be at a disadvantage being with him.
But if Isabella really liked him and wanted to be with him, he wouldn't object.
What could be more important than Isabella's happiness?
As long as Isabella is happy and content, that's all that matters.
"If she really wants to be with you, you should treat her well. If you make her sad, I won't allow it!" Hugo said firmly.
Frederick was completely shocked!
In just half a month, Dennis liked her this much?!
Was he under Isabella's spell?!
Hugo took the opportunity to give him another warning, "Real men don’t pick on women. Whether you like her or not, you should at least show basic respect. You're a father and should set a good example for your son."
After saying that, Hugo walked straight ahead. Frederick followed a step behind, staring at his back in a daze.
He was wearing a long down jacket, standing as straight as usual.
But today's Dennis was very different from before.
He had lost a bit of his hostility and gained some maturity and steadiness.
Moreover, he spoke much more today than before, and his words were like those of a little gentleman, polite and powerful.
It was the first time Frederick had seen such a Dennis!
He didn't seem like a child with a dark mind and psychological issues, but more like a gentleman raised by a prestigious family.
