Chapter 121 Dennis’s Personality Mirrors His Father’s

Elliot was chilling in the car, watching the surveillance, when Dennis came downstairs and caught him off guard.

"Frederick, what do we do now?" he asked.

Frederick's face scrunched up in thought.

Lately, he didn't want to see Isabella but couldn't stop worrying about Dennis. When Isabella showed up, he stayed in the car.

Before Frederick could say anything, Isabella and Dennis walked out of the building.

Dennis stood at the entrance, looking at Isabella like he was asking where she was headed.

Isabella definitely didn't want to take him out of the complex directly. She glanced around the courtyard, which was pretty barren with no greenery.

It was an old-style complex with zero landscaping.

Isabella pointed to the slide behind the flower bed and said, "How about we check that out?"

Dennis didn't say anything and just walked over, with Isabella right behind him.

There weren't many people around, and no kids were playing near the slide.

As they got closer, Dennis looked at the slide with disdain. "You want Blizzard to play on this?" he asked.

Isabella laughed. "Blizzard won't play, but you can. You go up, slide down, and I'll catch you. It's fun."

"Childish," Dennis muttered.

He rolled up his sleeves, revealing Blizzard, and squatted down, trying to let it crawl down to play.

But Blizzard, like it was afraid of the cold, immediately burrowed back into Dennis's sleeve as soon as it was exposed.

Dennis, quick on his feet, raised his other hand to hold it down!

Blizzard wasn't happy and suddenly turned its head, sticking out its tongue.

Isabella was startled, but Dennis didn't even flinch, showing some serious guts.

He furrowed his little brows, took Blizzard off his arm, and placed it on the ground.

Whether Blizzard found the ground dirty or cold was unclear, but it quickly turned and headed back towards Dennis.

Dennis didn't give it a chance and took a few steps back, with Blizzard immediately following.

He retreated, and it chased.

After a bit, Blizzard seemed to get mad, suddenly sped up, and leaped into Dennis's jacket pocket.

Dennis's eyes lit up, surprised by Blizzard's jumping skills.

He wasn't scared of getting bitten and reached into his pocket to pull it out.

Blizzard, sticking out its red tongue, looked at him angrily.

Dennis squinted his eyes slightly, looking at it with a bit of contempt.

Isabella stood aside, staring blankly at Dennis.

That arrogant expression was just like his father's!

Indeed, the environment one grows up in greatly influences their personality!

Even if Dennis didn't have a psychological disorder, living with his father for a long time would make him cold and unapproachable.

"What are you holding? Let me see!" A six or seven-year-old boy suddenly ran over and rudely said to Dennis.

Blizzard turned its head to glare at the boy, its aura intensifying, and the temperature dropping!

At this moment, Blizzard didn't look like a small pet at all, its danger level maxed out!

Dennis also glanced at the boy, furrowed his brows, put Blizzard back in his pocket, and turned to leave.

The boy, unhappy, stepped forward to block his way, exclaiming loudly, "Hey! I'm talking to you! Are you deaf or mute?"

Isabella frowned, displeased. Whose kid was so rude?

"How can you talk like that? Where are your parents?" she asked.

The boy made a face at her, saying, "I came down to play by myself! Hurry up and show me what's in your pocket! Or I'll beat you up!"

Isabella frowned, about to give him a piece of her mind, when Dennis suddenly spoke, "Step aside!"

Dennis wasn't as tall as the boy, but when he said this, he looked up, and his aura crushed the boy's to dust.

He furrowed his brows, exuding coldness. He was a miniature version of Frederick!

The boy was so freaked out by Dennis's look that he pouted and scooted away.

Isabella, worried Dennis might get upset and have an episode, quickly squatted down, placing her hands on his shoulders to calm him. "Dennis, don't worry about him. Some people just lack manners. Getting mad only makes things harder for you; it's not worth it."

Dennis didn't say a word and headed towards the building.

Isabella hurried to keep up.

Just as they reached the entrance, the boy showed up again, zooming at them on his scooter!

His face made it clear he was doing it on purpose!

Before Isabella could react, the boy was already right in front of her, and she couldn't dodge.

Seeing he was about to hit her, Dennis suddenly ran over and knocked the boy down, falling to the ground himself.

"Dennis!" Isabella was terrified and quickly squatted down to help him.

Frederick and Elliot, alarmed, rushed over.

Frederick, full of concern, asked, "Where did you get hurt? Are you injured?"

Dennis ignored them, stood up, and coldly glared at the boy still lying on the ground.

The boy, either in pain or scared, started crying loudly.

The crying attracted a sixty-year-old woman, who started shouting from afar, "Oh, what happened? Were you bullied? What are you doing? If you dare hit my grandson, I'll fight you..."

Isabella frowned. No wonder the kid was so rude, with a guardian like that.

"Elliot, you handle this!" Frederick clearly didn't want to argue with such people and carried Dennis upstairs.

Elliot said to Isabella, "Ms. Beniere, you go with Dennis, I'll take care of this."

"This isn't Dennis's fault, it was him..." Isabella explained.

"I know, Eric and I saw the whole thing. You go upstairs first." Elliot reassured her.

Isabella hesitated for a moment, then turned and went upstairs.

Frederick had already taken off Dennis's coat and shoes and was checking his injuries.

Dennis had knocked the boy down and fell himself, with scrapes on his legs and arms.

Looking at those wounds, Frederick spoke with a heavy heart, his face darkening, "I need to clean these with alcohol; it will hurt, but please bear with it."

Dennis didn't say anything, and Frederick got up to get the first aid kit.

Isabella hurried back to the room, seeing Dennis's scrapes, feeling both heartbroken and guilty. "I'm sorry, Dennis. It's all my fault."

Dennis ignored her but looked at Frederick and said, "I did it willingly."

Frederick glanced at him in surprise but said nothing.

He was surprised Dennis would protect Isabella. Earlier downstairs, Dennis had knocked the boy down to protect Isabella.

When Dennis said 'willingly,' he meant not to blame Isabella, also protecting her.

Isabella had only been with him for a few days.

Frederick, without showing any emotion, walked over with the first aid kit. Isabella said, "Let me do it."

It was the first time they met after their kiss.

Frederick glanced at her, said nothing, and handed her the first aid kit.

Isabella's heart was all on Dennis. She opened the kit and quickly took out a cotton swab and alcohol, saying softly, "Dennis, it will hurt a bit. If it hurts, just cry, don't hold it in."

Dennis glanced at Isabella again.

Frederick told him to bear the pain.

Isabella said, if it hurts, don't hold it in.

Isabella was emotional, her eyes reddening as she cleaned the wounds. Then she asked, "Is there anywhere else that feels uncomfortable?"

Dennis looked at her as if she were a 'crybaby girl'.

"No."

After saying this coldly, he got up, took Blizzard, and went to his room, locking the door.

His intention was clear: don't disturb him.

Isabella sniffled, packed up the first aid kit.

Frederick was sitting on the living room sofa, frowning at her.
