Chapter 130 This is Daddy

Before Isabella could get a word in, he jumped right in, "Look, I don't know if that kiss last time got you all mixed up, but I need to set things straight tonight.

We both know why I kissed you. We're adults, we have needs, and sometimes we lose control. But that doesn't mean I have feelings for you.

So, let me be clear one last time: I only love Dennis's mom. Whether she's alive or not, she's the only one for me. I'll wait for her, until Dennis grows up, until I'm old and gray.

I don't care about anyone else, including you.

No matter what you do, we're not happening, not in this lifetime. So whatever you're planning, drop it tonight.

I'm not a nice guy, and I hate repeating myself. Don't push me."

Isabella was fuming. Every word felt like a slap in the face!

If she had those intentions, she'd own up to it.

But she didn't! She just wanted to see if he was the guy from back then!

With tears in her eyes, Isabella shot back, "Don't worry, I don't have feelings for you! I'm here because of Dennis! I hope you keep your word and never fall for me! Don't mess with me!"

With that, she stormed off.

Back in her room, she buried herself under the covers and cried out of sheer anger.

His harsh words cut deep, and she felt like a fool.

She had walked into his room so confidently, only to be humiliated and accused of having no self-respect.

Those words hurt more than a slap!

Her sobs echoed through the wall, reaching Frederick's ears.

He frowned, his face dark with frustration.

She could help Dennis, and he wanted to treat her with respect, but he didn't expect her to be so reckless!

Isabella, with her seemingly tough exterior, cried herself to sleep.

Frederick, on the other hand, spent the night smoking, unable to sleep.

The next morning, before dawn, there was noise in the living room.

Elliot had returned with Dennis!

Frederick, already informed, stood in the living room, looking at Dennis with a mix of surprise and worry, "When did you go out?"

Hugo clenched his small fists, looking at Frederick with a complicated expression.

This was Daddy! His and Justin's Daddy!

In the past, whenever Daddy was mentioned, Hugo felt regret and indifference.

Later, after learning that Frederick was his Daddy and still alive, Hugo felt both anticipation and anger.

The anticipation came from the fact that no child truly wants to be without their father; no matter how much they protest, deep down, they want it.

The anger came from Frederick's harm to Isabella and his failure to provide her with a loving home.

Before coming, he thought he could stay calm when he saw Frederick.

He was Hugo, not Justin. He was always composed, and for this Daddy he had no good feelings for, Hugo would only look at him coldly and ignore him.

But now, seeing Frederick's concerned eyes, Hugo felt a lump in his throat.

He felt terribly upset, like he had suffered a great injustice.

Frederick had already squatted down, placing his hands on Hugo's shoulders, "Dennis, tell me what happened? Why did you go out alone in the middle of the night?"

It was clear that Frederick mistook him for Dennis.

Hugo frowned, turning his gaze away in displeasure and muttering, "I don't want to talk to you!"

"Dennis," As soon as Frederick spoke, Isabella heard the commotion and ran out.

She only needed a second of eye contact to realize something was off.

The one in front of her was Hugo, not Dennis!

Hugo's love for her was obvious and gentle, completely different from Dennis!

Isabella's heart was pounding. She rushed over, scooped up Hugo, and took him into Dennis's room, locking the door behind them.

Frederick frowned, glancing at the door but didn't follow. He turned to Elliot, "What's going on?"

Elliot's face was serious, "Today's been weird. Just now, our guys found a strange man in the yard. He was standing downstairs, staring at Dennis's window, smiling creepily, and holding a dead cat, trying to throw it inside.

Our guys rushed to check it out, but he vanished like a ghost in seconds.

We hadn't caught him yet when Dennis suddenly appeared downstairs. Worried about Dennis, I quickly brought him up.

Just now, Dennis said he didn't want to talk to you. Maybe he was freaked out by the dead cat.

The guy dropped the cat when he ran. When we found Dennis, he was just staring at it, frowning."

Frederick's frown deepened. After listening to Elliot, he walked into the study and turned on the computer.

In Dennis's room.

Isabella was almost scared to death by Hugo, "Why didn't you call me before coming? And why didn't you say you'd come at this time?"

Hugo first calmed himself and softly comforted Isabella, "I thought it would be easier to move around before dawn, so I came early. Don't worry, Mommy. He didn't recognize me, and we didn't get exposed."

Isabella was still anxious.

These days, she had been worried about Hugo replacing Dennis!

Hugo's plan was to show up in front of everyone as Dennis.

Hugo was a healthy kid, and after showing up, everyone would naturally believe that Dennis was really better.

After all, he and Dennis looked exactly the same, and no one could tell them apart.

Yet Isabella was afraid Frederick would see through Hugo's plan!

She concealed it every single day, dreading his discovery of Hugo and Justin, but in the end, he hadn't found out, and she willingly brought Hugo to him.

So, this plan, though good, was too risky for her!

If it weren't for Dennis, she wouldn't dare to do this!

"Mommy, stay calm. The more nervous you get, the more he'll notice something's up," Hugo reminded.

"You're right! I can't be nervous!" Isabella took deep breaths to calm herself.

"Is this Dennis?" Hugo asked.

Dennis was still asleep.

Isabella nodded, "Yes, I gave him some medicine. He'll sleep well today."

"He looks just like me and Justin."

"Yes."

Hugo stared at Dennis for a few more seconds, "There won't be any accidents today, but Dennis will have to suffer for a day."

"Suffering a bit now is for a better future. Dennis will understand," Isabella said.

She looked at Dennis with pity and resolutely moved him under the bed.

Hugo and Dennis couldn't appear together so they had to hide Dennis first to prevent Frederick from noticing anything.

The hiding spot was pre-selected by Isabella, under the bed in a cabinet.

It was lined with bedding and had air holes, ensuring Dennis could sleep comfortably for a day without any issues.

After hiding Dennis under the bed, she straightened the sheets.

The bed skirt perfectly covered the cabinet, showing no signs of anything unusual.

They had considered moving Dennis out, but after much thought, they decided it was safer and more convenient to hide him in the room.

Just as Isabella and Hugo finished tidying up, Frederick pushed the door open and came in.

He didn't speak, just stared at Hugo with a complex expression, making it hard to guess what he was thinking.

Hugo squinted slightly, looking back at him with an equally complex expression.

Only Isabella felt her heart leap into her throat again!

She held her breath, digging her nails into the tender flesh of her palm to compel herself to remain calm and not lose control!

But the next second, Frederick's words almost made her collapse. He said, "I just checked the surveillance, you're not..."
