Chapter 113 Frederick, Great News
Hugo leaned in close and whispered something to Isabella.
At first, her eyes lit up, but then she frowned.
The idea was solid!
But for her, it was too risky!
Seeing her frown, Hugo asked, "You think this plan won't work?"
Isabella didn't nod or shake her head. She just said, "I need to think about it."
She needed to really mull over whether to go through with it or not.
Hugo got where she was coming from and didn't push. He just said, "No rush. Let me know when you've decided. I'll handle it myself and keep Justin out of it. You can count on me."
Isabella nodded seriously. She did trust Hugo to take care of things.
Hugo had never messed up anything he took on.
Then Hugo switched gears. "Have you taken care of what you came to Teronica for?"
"Huh?" Isabella was momentarily confused, then remembered Hugo was asking about her divorce from Frederick.
These past few days, her mind had been all about Dennis and Eleanor, and she hadn't thought about the divorce.
When she first got back, the divorce was all she could think about. Now, because of Eleanor and Dennis, she wasn't in a rush anymore.
Isabella shook her head, saying, "Not yet, but there's no hurry."
Hearing this, Hugo narrowed his eyes a bit. He'd been thinking that if Isabella was in a hurry, he could use that thing to talk to Frederick later.
Frederick had already reached out, wanting that thing Hugo had, saying Hugo could name his price.
But seeing that Isabella wasn't in a rush, he decided to hold off too.
He'd wait until Isabella was eager to finalize the divorce.
"You don't need to worry about my stuff. You've been home for a few days now. Tomorrow, take Justin and Paul to school. Getting the chance to go to school wasn't easy, so make the most of it. Got it?" Isabella suddenly said.
The thought of going to kindergarten made Hugo's head hurt, his mind filled with images of little girls chattering in his ear.
Seeing Hugo frown, Isabella asked, "You don't want to go?"
"Yeah, I'm worried about you. I just want to be with you," Hugo replied.
Isabella smiled, saying, "I'm fine now, no need to worry. Besides, even though we're family, we're also individuals and can't be glued to each other all the time.
You have your lives, and I have mine. You're at the age where you need to go to school, and you can't skip it."
Hugo agreed, "Okay, I'll listen to Mommy. We'll go tomorrow."
The next day, Isabella finally had a bit of energy.
She sent Hugo, Justin, and Paul off to school and went to see Elijah under the pretense of a medical visit.
Elijah was surprised to see her and said, "Ms. Beniere?"
Isabella walked into the clinic a bit awkwardly, saying, "Mr. Jenkins, I'm here to get some medicine."
"Are you sick?"
"Yeah, I had a high fever a few days ago. It broke today, but I'm out of medicine," Isabella said.
Elijah quickly had her sit down, took her temperature, and did a basic check-up. Then he said, "The fever's gone. Just drink plenty of water and get some rest."
"Okay." Isabella nodded.
She knew her own condition well; she was pretty skilled in medicine.
Coming to see Elijah today was just an excuse. She wanted to find out about Dennis's situation.
She didn't know why, but even after almost getting hit by a car because of Dennis, she still couldn't let him go. Even though Dennis didn't like her, just thinking about him made her heart ache.
It felt like there was some inexplicable connection between them.
Isabella asked, "Has Dennis been discharged?"
"Yeah, he was discharged several days ago. He doesn't like staying in the hospital, and with his kind of psychological issues, staying there wouldn't help much," Elijah answered.
"How's he been lately? Any improvement?" she asked.
Elijah sighed lightly and shook his head, replying, "He hasn't even been eating lately."
"Why?"
Elijah hesitated for a moment before saying, "He's like his father. Once he sets his mind on something, that's it. Dennis has recently taken a liking to your cooking and refuses to eat anything made by anyone else.
Just like Eric was fixated on Dennis's mother, only wanting her and no other woman."
Isabella frowned. She didn't care how infatuated he was; she only cared about Dennis! She asked, "It's been so many days. Can Dennis handle not eating?"
"It's not that he doesn't eat at all, just barely enough to stay alive. I've heard he's lost several pounds in just a few days," Elijah said.
Isabella was shocked. "Lost several pounds?"
"Yeah, Dennis has always been troubled, and recently he's been having episodes. When he eats properly, he can maintain his nutrition, but now that he's not eating much, he's losing weight fast."
Isabella frowned deeply, feeling both upset and heartbroken!
Just thinking about Dennis looking pale and thin made her feel guilty!
It was all because of her!
If she could have insisted on cooking delicious meals for Dennis every day, he wouldn't have lost weight.
After leaving the hospital, Isabella went straight to the supermarket.
She pushed a shopping cart and bought a lot of groceries!
Back home, she took off her coat, changed her shoes, rolled up her sleeves, and rushed into the kitchen.
She spent over two hours in the kitchen, cooking a lot of dishes, all for Dennis.
But after finishing, she was troubled.
How could she get the food to Dennis?
After everything that had happened, she didn't dare to approach Dennis openly.
Even if she didn't consider her own safety, she had to think about Hugo, Justin, and Paul. She couldn't ignore them just to help Dennis.
Isabella thought for a long time, almost exhausting her brain cells, when suddenly an idea struck her!
She picked up her phone, called a delivery service, and specified the location for the food delivery.
She also instructed the delivery person, "If anyone asks who sent it, just say the sender didn't want to be identified."
She was worried that if Anna and her people found out about the food, they would cause her trouble again.
Anyway, as long as Frederick saw the food, he would know it was from her and would let Dennis eat.
However, as soon as the delivery person reached the entrance of the neighborhood and inquired about the building number, he was stopped by bodyguards hiding in the shadows.
After Anna's last visit, Frederick had arranged for bodyguards around the house.
The sudden appearance of the delivery person was suspicious.
Moreover, when asked about the source of the delivery, he refused to say, making it even more suspicious.
Frederick's bodyguards were tall, strong, and exuded a cold aura, scaring the delivery person.
He quickly called Isabella, "Miss, I've been stopped. They insist on knowing who sent this delivery. What should I do?"
Isabella panicked, asking, "Who stopped you?"
"I don't know them, two men in suits, pretty intimidating," the delivery person answered.
Isabella wasn't sure if they were Frederick's people and could only say, "Then bring the food back. I'll still pay you."
The delivery person, almost in tears, said, "The problem is, they won't let me leave without an explanation," feeling like he was risking his life just to deliver some food.
"Miss, I'm sorry, but I have to tell them who you are."
Before Isabella could respond, the delivery person had already told the bodyguards her location.
The two bodyguards, who knew Isabella, got excited immediately and quickly contacted Elliot, "Elliot, big news! Ms. Beniere sent someone to deliver food to Dennis!"
Elliot was shocked as he inquired, "Really?"
"YES! The person is right here with us. Ms. Beniere didn't come herself; she sent a delivery person with three thermal containers full of food."
"Don't let the person leave. I'll call to confirm." Elliot, trying to contain his excitement, with trembling hands, quickly contacted Isabella.
After confirming the news, he dashed out of his office and headed to the CEO's office.
Seeing his excited face, someone stopped him and asked, "Elliot, is there some good news?"
Elliot, excited, said, "Get ready, everyone! We're getting a day off! Even if we don't, there will be no overtime today!"
Everyone was overjoyed, asking, "Really?"
"Wait for the news!" Elliot replied excitedly.
Elliot, brimming with confidence, burst into the CEO's office without even knocking due to his overwhelming excitement.
"Frederick, great news!" he joyfully exclaimed.
