Chapter 107 Isabella Won't Care About Dennis Anymore
Frederick's actions were a slap in the face to Nicholas!
If he had any respect for Nicholas, he wouldn't have treated Anna like that.
Nicholas was so mad he slammed his cane on the ground, making a loud clanging noise.
He yelled, "Bastard! He's defying me! He doesn't respect me anymore! Bastard!"
His subordinate quickly tried to calm him down, saying, "Please calm down, sir. Today's incident was also because Ms. Anna Valdemar was too impulsive. I heard that if Frederick hadn't shown up suddenly, Isabella would have been killed on the spot!
Ms. Anna Valdemar didn't think it through. Right now, whoever can help Dennis is the one Frederick cares about the most!
If she wants to kill Isabella, isn't that like killing Dennis's hope, indirectly killing Dennis?! How could Frederick not be angry?"
Nicholas muttered, "Anna is a fool! She hasn't learned from Kevin's death and still wants to lose her husband?!"
"Well, you know she's always been impulsive," his subordinate remarked.
"Idiot!" Nicholas shouted angrily.
"Please calm down. Although Frederick's actions were excessive, no one will dare to target Isabella and Dennis again, which is good for us."
Nicholas, with a dark expression, picked up the cup on the table and took a few sips to calm his anger.
He said, "Even so, we can't let him be so arrogant! He doesn't take me or the Valdemar family seriously anymore! We must find a way to restrain him! Any news from 'Always IsaBabe's'?"
"Not yet. The items have been placed as requested, so he should contact us in the next couple of days. 'Always IsaBabe's' is known for his efficiency on the dark web."
"Alright, in the next couple of days, tally up our assets. If we're going to collaborate with someone, we need to show our worth."
The subordinate looked worried and said, "I'm just concerned that if 'Always IsaBabe's' finds the person for us, he might not be willing to cooperate."
"They will. Once we find this person, I have my ways to make him cooperate willingly," Nicholas said confidently, clearly having some leverage.
The subordinate didn't dare to ask what that leverage was and changed the subject, "What should we do about Ms. Anna Valdemar?"
Nicholas's face darkened, "Ignore her! She brought this on herself!"
This news quickly reached Alison and her mother.
Alison was frantic as she said, "I told you, Mom! Look, Frederick humiliated Anna to defend that bitch and even publicly warned the other Valdemar family members!"
She continued, "We were counting on Anna to get rid of Isabella, but now she's in trouble, and Isabella is fine! Mom, do you think Frederick really likes Isabella? If he likes her, what about me?!"
Donna rolled her eyes, interrupting, "Enough! How did I raise such a fool? Frederick isn't defending Isabella; he's doing it for Dennis because she's his hope right now! Without Dennis, she is nothing!"
"Right. If Dennis dies, Frederick won't care about her anymore! Mom, we need to find a way to kill Dennis!" Alison said.
Donna raised her hand and poked Alison's forehead hard as she shouted, "Are you stupid? What makes you think you can kill Dennis? So many people in the Valdemar family have tried and failed. What makes you think you can do it? And look at those who tried; did any of them have a good ending?"
"Then we should kill Isabella!"
"Can't you use your brain?!"
Alison was frantic, exclaiming loudly, "I can't think straight! Frederick isn't answering my calls or texts and refuses to see me! Now he's furious because of another woman, and I'm losing my mind!"
"Don't worry! Today's events are actually beneficial for us!" Donna reassured.
"Huh?"
"Think about it. If you were in her shoes, almost losing your life for helping a kid you barely know, would you keep helping?" Donna asked.
Alison blinked, looking confused.
Donna explained, "After this, Isabella will definitely be too scared to get involved with Dennis again. Who would risk their life like that?"
Alison blinked again, finally getting it.
She said happily, "Right! If Isabella stops helping Dennis, Frederick won't care about her anymore. He might even get mad at her for not helping Dennis and take it out on her!"
"Exactly. So don't worry. We just need to sit back and wait for the good news. Once Isabella is out of the picture, I'll find a way to make Frederick forgive you and treat you well again," Donna assured.
"Yes, Mom!"
Donna wasn't the only one thinking this way; the other Valdemar family members, even Freya, had similar thoughts.
Freya was currently taking Isabella home.
Elliot had called her to come and be with Isabella, but by the time she arrived, Isabella, terrified of being around Frederick, had already checked out of the hospital.
To her, Frederick was dangerous, and staying away from him meant staying safe.
Freya, driving with teary eyes, said, "If it doesn't work out, let's stop meddling. You couldn't even guarantee curing Dennis, and you almost lost your life. If you actually do find a way to save him in the future, won't you die even faster?
Dennis is pitiful, but you have to think about yourself and Hugo, Justin, and Paul. If something happens to you, what will happen to them? They don't have a father, only you. If you die, they'll be orphans!"
Isabella leaned back in the passenger seat, her head buzzing, her voice weak, "I'm fine, don't worry."
"Fine? You almost got hit by a car!" Freya said, both angry and worried, tears streaming down her face.
Isabella felt sorry for her and wanted to reach out to wipe her tears but found she didn't even have the strength to lift her hand.
Her breathing became more labored.
Freya noticed something was wrong and quickly wiped her tears, asking, "Isabella, what's wrong?"
"I'm a bit dizzy," she replied.
Freya saw that Isabella's face was unusually red and panicked, quickly pulling over.
She touched Isabella's forehead, which was burning hot!
"Oh no, you have a fever!" Freya exclaimed.
Luckily, there was a clinic nearby, and Freya quickly helped Isabella out of the car.
Her temperature was 104 degrees Fahrenheit!
The doctor hurriedly gave Isabella an injection and fever-reducing medication. Then he asked, "How could you let her get this sick before bringing her in? A little later, and she could have died!"
Freya was anxious, saying, "She almost got into a car accident today and was scared. She was already treated at the hospital, and we just left."
The doctor said, "Let's focus on reducing the fever first."
Freya wanted to transfer Isabella to a larger hospital, but Isabella was too weak, so they had to wait until her fever went down.
Lying on the hospital bed, Isabella weakly asked, "Isn't it almost time for Hugo, Justin, and Paul to get out of school?"
"Don't worry about it. I've already asked a colleague to bring them over after school," Freya said.
Isabella shook her head, saying, "Just have them sent home. They'll cry if they see me like this."
"But..."
"Don't worry about them. They can take care of themselves at home. Don't tell them I'm sick," Isabella insisted.
Freya hesitated but nodded and sent another message to her colleague.
She also told Hugo, Justin, and Paul that she and Isabella were attending a party and would be home late. Then she instructed them to eat dinner and go to bed on their own and not to wait up for them.
