Chapter 126 How Dare She Curse At Me

Because of all this, Frederick was giving Isabella the cold shoulder all day.

Isabella didn't care; he was never nice to her anyway!

After making dinner, Isabella was ready to head out.

Lately, she spent her days here with Dennis and her nights with Hugo, Justin, and Paul.

When she was about to take Blizzard, Dennis looked really bummed. She tried to cheer him up, "I'll talk to Justin when I get back, and I'll bring Blizzard to play with you again tomorrow."

She wanted Dennis to be happy, but Blizzard was Justin's pet, and she couldn't just hand him over without asking.

She couldn't make Dennis happy and ignore Justin's feelings.

Dennis stayed quiet, handed Blizzard back, and stared out the window.

Isabella, trying to be sweet, said, "I'll come back tomorrow. Bye."

Dennis ignored her, acting all distant.

He only turned around, looking all sad and upset, after he heard the door close.

Dennis didn't want Isabella to leave, but he was too proud to ask her to stay.

Just like Frederick, Dennis had a lot of pride.

In the living room, Isabella saw Frederick at the door, all dressed up, and was a bit surprised, "You're seeing me off?"

"Yeah."

"Where's Elliot?" she asked. Lately, Elliot had been the one picking her up and dropping her off.

Frederick didn't explain, just frowned and asked, "Are you leaving or not?"

"What about Dennis? Are you leaving him alone at home?" Isabella questioned.

"Someone will take care of him. You don't need to worry."

Isabella pouted and reluctantly followed him downstairs.

He was still driving that plain Volkswagen, and neither of them said a word on the way.

When they got to her neighborhood and she was about to get out, she realized he had locked the car door.

Isabella, feeling cautious, asked, "Why did you lock the car door?"

Frederick turned off the engine, lit a cigarette, took a few puffs, and then said, "The Valdemar family is holding a memorial on the 5th of next month. Dennis needs to attend and give a speech. Can you persuade him?"

That's why he personally drove her today.

He couldn't handle the event himself, so he needed Isabella's help.

Isabella already had plans. Hearing this, she frowned and asked, "He has to give a speech too?"

"Yes," Frederick replied.

"Can't he just attend without giving a speech?"

"No."

"Why does your family have so many issues?" Isabella muttered.

Frederick gave her a look, saying, "I already talked to Dennis today, but he refused. He might listen to you."

Isabella asked, "Why would he listen to me?"

"Dennis likes you," Frederick answered.

A hint of joy flashed in Isabella's eyes as she asked, "Did he tell you that?"

"I could tell."

Isabella sighed, "I'll talk to him tomorrow then."

"Okay. Dennis likes you, so treat him well. You won't be shortchanged on your compensation. For now, it's $10,000 a day, and if you do well, there will be a bonus at the end of the month," Frederick said.

Mentioning money immediately perked Isabella up. She asked, "There's a bonus too?"

Seeing her greedy look, Frederick pursed his lips in disdain.

She was the typical money-grubber who would do anything for cash!

"If you do well, the bonus will be substantial," said Frederick.

Isabella's eyes widened, "Really?"

"Yes."

"With a good bonus, the work won't feel tiring. Rest assured, I'll definitely do my best."

Although she wasn't taking care of Dennis for the money, getting paid would certainly make her happier.

She was very poor right now, and she had to seize every opportunity to make money since she had three sons to support.

Seeing her as excited as if she had taken a stimulant, Frederick added, "If you can persuade Dennis to cooperate and attend the family memorial event, the bonus will be $50,000."

He didn't want to scare her by saying too much.

$50,000 was a jaw-dropping number for Isabella. Her eyes went wide. "Fifty grand?" she exclaimed.

"Yes."

"Not five grand? Not five hundred?"

Frederick didn't bother to respond.

"$50,000 as promised, not a penny less. If you back out, you're a jerk!" Isabella declared.

Frederick looked at her with disdain, flicking his cigarette ash. "Focus on persuading Dennis. I don't just want him to attend; I want him to give a speech. If you can't get it done, you won't see a dime."

Isabella was confident. "It's just a speech, no problem!"

Seeing her so sure of herself, Frederick squinted. "You have a plan?"

"Yep!"

"What plan?"

Isabella shot him a wary look. "It's a secret! I can't tell you!"

"Not even to me?"

"Of course not, you don't deserve to know!" Isabella shot back.

Frederick was speechless.

Seeing her looking both silly and confident, and a bit annoying, he felt both disdain and reassurance.

"As long as you can get it done, money is not an issue," he said.

Isabella held her head high. "I can definitely get it done. Just have the money ready for me!"

Hugo had already come up with a plan for her, so she was determined to get that $50,000!

Isabella was happy, and Frederick was in a good mood too.

For him, problems that could be solved with money weren't really problems. Her love for money made her easier to control.

Frederick took another puff of his cigarette. "There's one more thing."

"Hmm? What is it?"

Frederick said coldly, "I warned you not to have any ideas about me."

Isabella was stunned for a moment before realizing he was talking about today's 'flirting' incident!

Pouting, Isabella blushed and retorted, "I admit I looked at you a bit longer today, but if you think that means I have feelings for you, that's ridiculous! Do you think you're a dollar bill that everyone loves? Let me tell you, I don't like you at all!"

"I prefer not to entertain, for my heart belongs to another."

"I have someone in my heart too! Several, actually!"

Having someone in your heart is a big deal? Who doesn't have a few people in their heart? Hugo, Justin, and Paul, including Dennis, were all in her heart.

Several?

Flirting!

Frederick looked at her with disdain and flicked his cigarette ash again. "Do you like Daniel?"

"Who?"

"Daniel, the son-in-law of the Rogers Group."

Isabella was stunned for three seconds and then exploded with anger. "Are you crazy? What nonsense are you talking about! Daniel is my best friend's husband! We're just friends! What you're saying is worse than saying I like you! Are you deliberately trying to pick a fight?"

Her attitude was bad, and Frederick frowned slightly. "Why are you so angry? Unless you have a guilty conscience."

"You slander me, and I'm not allowed to be angry?"

"I'm not slandering you; I was just asking."

"Even asking is not okay!"

Frederick was speechless.

Isabella gritted her teeth. "From now on, unless it's about Dennis, don't talk to me! I'll tell you one last time, I don't like you! Narcissist!"

"Isabella!"

"Don't call me!"

Frederick's face darkened, thoroughly angered. "You dare to insult me?"

"I just want to hit you! You're such a narcissist! You're crazy!" Isabella shouted.

"Isabella..."

"Open the door! I want to get out!"

"You..."

"Stop talking nonsense! Open the door! If you don't open it, I'll call the police!"

Frederick's face was gloomy, his lips tightly pressed together. He silently repeated Dennis's name a hundred times to calm down, then unlocked the door. "You’re good at this!"

"You’re better than me!"

Isabella got out of the car angrily, slammed the door, and walked away!

Frederick seethed with such fury that his entire body ached.

He slapped the steering wheel hard, floored the gas pedal, and drove off!

In a corner, a sinister gaze appeared, looking in the direction Frederick left, then in the direction Isabella left, and chuckled, "They had a fight!"
