Chapter 148 Your Mom Is My Mom
Isabella noticed and asked with a smile, "Hey Dennis, wanna help make breakfast?"
Dennis nodded eagerly.
Truth be told, he just wanted to hang out with Isabella. Didn't matter what they were doing, as long as they were together.
Isabella thought for a second. "Can you help me beat the eggs? We're making omelets."
"Sure thing!"
She rolled up Dennis's sleeves, helped him wash his hands, and brought over a little stool for him to stand on.
Opening the fridge, she grabbed a few eggs, cracked them into a bowl, and showed Dennis how to beat them.
Dennis was super focused, and Isabella praised him, "Great job!"
He blushed and put even more effort into it.
Isabella then grabbed some green onions and carrots to wash.
Frederick heard the noise and came out to see the two of them busy in the kitchen.
They had a clear division of labor, each doing their part.
Isabella kept smiling and spoke gently to Dennis.
Dennis occasionally glanced at her, his eyes shining.
The scene was so harmonious that Frederick's first thought was, 'It'd be awesome if Isabella were Dennis's real mom!'
But as soon as that thought crossed his mind, it startled him.
He turned and went to the bathroom.
Standing in front of the mirror, he looked at himself and asked, "If Dennis wanted Isabella to be his mom, would I agree? Would I be willing to give up Dennis's biological mom to be with Isabella?"
His reflection instantly turned gloomy. The answer was obvious!
No way would he ever give up Dennis's biological mom. He had promised back then that he would make her the happiest and most honored woman in the world!
He had a relationship with her, and it had to be her! For this lifetime, he only wanted her!
Frederick steadied himself and went back to the kitchen.
Isabella glanced at him, not giving him a friendly look.
Frederick frowned but didn't respond. He stood next to Dennis and asked gently, "Need any help?"
Dennis shook his head indifferently.
When he finished beating the eggs and showed them to Isabella, his expression immediately softened. "Is this good?"
"Yes, Dennis, great job! Now let's mix in these ingredients."
Isabella added the chopped green onions and carrots, and Dennis was in charge of mixing. The two worked in perfect harmony.
Frederick stood there like a doormat, ignored by everyone and getting no good looks.
He suddenly felt like Isabella was Dennis's real mom, and he was the stepdad!
When all the ingredients were ready and it was time to cook, Isabella said to Dennis, "I'll handle this part myself. You go wait outside."
With the hot pan and oil, she was worried Dennis might get burned.
Dennis didn't really want to leave, but he had to listen to Isabella, so he obediently nodded and went out.
Frederick immediately followed him out, "Dennis, can we talk?"
Dennis didn't object. The father and son went to the study.
Frederick sincerely apologized, "About your mom, I'm sorry. Even though the situation was tough and I had to do what I did to survive, it was still my fault for hurting her."
Frederick thought that Dennis's unusual behavior last night and this morning was because he was angry about his mom.
Dennis frowned.
Although he was emotional because he had found his mom, he was indeed a bit angry about this matter, just like Hugo and Justin.
He wasn't as resistant to Frederick as Hugo and Justin, but he was still mad at him.
No matter the reason, Frederick had wronged Isabella and messed up her life.
Because of him, Isabella had to leave her home, got ridiculed and cursed, and even had to do hard labor while seven or eight months pregnant!
Thinking about all the hardships and crap Isabella had gone through over the years made his heart ache!
The more he felt for Isabella, the angrier he got at Frederick!
"Don't worry, if I get the chance to see her again, I'll make it up to her. I'll treat her well and make her the happiest woman in the world!" Frederick sincerely promised Dennis.
Dennis frowned and looked at him. He wanted to say, "Isabella is my mom!"
But he was still worried that Isabella might not accept him now.
After thinking it over, Dennis said, "You should treat Isabella better in the future!"
Frederick was stunned. He was talking about his mom, so why bring up Isabella?
"You really like Isabella?" he asked.
"Yes."
"How much do you like her?"
Dennis answered seriously, "I really like her. I want to be with her forever."
Frederick was surprised as he inquired, "What about your mom? Weren't you worried about how to arrange Isabella when your mom comes back?"
"She is my mom!" Dennis retorted.
Frederick was shocked.
Dennis realized he had slipped and quickly corrected himself, "I want her to be my mom! If you really care about me, treat her well!"
Dennis finished and left, leaving Frederick stunned!
Dennis left the study, stared at Isabella's back with joy for a while, and then went back to his room.
He texted Hugo: [Let's meet today. I have something important to tell you.]
After a while, Hugo replied: [Justin and I have to go to kindergarten today, so it might be hard to get away. What is it? Does it have to be said in person?]
Dennis hesitated for a moment.
Dennis: [Your mom is my mom.]
The next second, Hugo called.
Dennis ran to the door to check, making sure Frederick and Isabella weren't paying attention to him, and then answered the call.
Hugo's voice was urgent, "What do you mean by what you just said?"
Dennis whispered, "I've confirmed it. My mom is your mom. We're not half-brothers; we're full brothers!"
Hugo was too shocked to speak.
Dennis explained, "Last night, my dad confessed what happened back then. He said he had a one-night stand with my mom, which resulted in me. It happened on the first day he returned to the country, at the airport!
It's exactly the same as what happened between him and your mom, the time and place match!
And my dad also said he has only ever been with my mom! He was very sure and wasn't lying. So, my mom is your mom!"
Hugo calmed down for a while before asking, "Did you do a DNA test?"
"Not yet."
"Later, I'll have someone come by to collect samples from you and Mommy, pretending todelivering a package. Make sure to have the samples ready."
"Okay!"
Hugo added, "I did a DNA test with your dad, and the results are out. Your dad is my dad! If your mom is also my mom, then we are indeed full brothers!"
Dennis was excited. He would have brothers, and he wouldn't be alone anymore!
Hugo asked again, "Did you tell your dad and my mom about this?"
"Not yet. I didn't dare reveal the secret easily," said Dennis.
Hugo remarked, "You did the right thing. Don't say anything for now. We'll talk in detail after the DNA results come out."
If they were indeed full brothers, there would be many questions to address.
First, if Isabella knew about Dennis, she wouldn't abandon him. Someone must have taken Dennis without Isabella's knowledge!
Who was that person? What was their motive? And why did they only take Dennis, leaving Hugo, Justin, and Paul behind?
