Chapter 180 The Weak and Helpless Frederick

Frederick was obedient this time, lying by the bed and vomiting into the trash can.

Isabella held him with one hand and patted his back through the blanket with the other.

Despite his efforts, Frederick only vomited a bit of yellow liquid.

He had already emptied his stomach in the bathroom earlier, and now he was dry heaving, forcing out some bile.

Isabella frowned as she thought, 'he was even vomiting bile; how excruciatingly uncomfortable he must be!'

Her tone softened unconsciously, "If you can't throw up anything, don't force it. Rinse your mouth."

She picked up the tea from the bedside table for him to rinse his mouth.

Frederick was too weak to take the cup, so he drank a few sips from her hand, rinsed his mouth, and lay back down.

Isabella took a tissue and wiped the corner of his mouth.

This time, he didn't push her hand away.

Isabella changed the trash bag and threw it into the bathroom trash can. When she returned, she saw that Frederick still looked very uncomfortable, and she frowned again.

She didn't want to care for him, but he looked so much like Hugo, Justin, and Dennis! She couldn't help but project her children onto him.

She knew it was he who was drunk and uncomfortable, not her children, but seeing him suffer felt like seeing her children suffer!

After hesitating, Isabella picked up the yogurt from the bedside table, remarking, "I'm not feeding you; I'm feeding my child. Right now, you're the child, and I'm the mom!"

She muttered to herself, convincing herself, and scooped a spoonful of yogurt into Frederick's mouth.

Frederick wanted to hit her, but Isabella was prepared and dodged quickly, putting the spoon back to his mouth.

Frederick turned his face away, not wanting to drink.

Isabella scolded, "If you don't eat, you'll get a beating! Be good!"

Be good...

Frederick suddenly opened his eyes and turned to look at Isabella, his mind filled with memories of his childhood with Natalie.

"Frederick, be good, don't be picky. Picky eaters aren't good babies. Try this: Mommy made it just for you. Be good."

"Frederick, why are you pouting and not talking again? Are you in a bad mood? Don't keep it to yourself; tell Mommy. Be good."

"Frederick, you have to eat carrots and greens. They help you grow tall and keep you healthy! So don't pick them out; eat them all. Be good, Mommy will feed you."

Childhood memories flooded his mind, and Frederick felt a lump in his throat.

He stared at Isabella, his nose tingling, his lips moving but unable to make a sound.

It was just as well he couldn't speak! If he really called her 'Mom,' Isabella would be scared to death!

Isabella couldn't read minds and didn't know what he was thinking, so she didn't understand why he was looking at her like that.

He seemed strange, giving off a weak and helpless vibe! But how could he be pitiful? He was clearly a big demon!

Could it be that her threat to 'beat him' scared him? It shouldn't be; he was fiercer than anyone!

Isabella could only think that he had become timid and fragile after getting drunk!

She would never have guessed that while she was treating Frederick like a child, Frederick was seeing her as his mom!

Seeing Frederick look so pitiful, Isabella's voice softened unconsciously, "Come on. Yogurt won't cure your hangover, but it will make your stomach feel better. You won't feel so bad after drinking."

She looked at Frederick, and Frederick looked at her.

When he obediently opened his mouth, Isabella was surprised.

She quickly scooped another spoonful into his mouth, and Frederick ate it.

It wasn't a big deal, but Isabella was greatly encouraged. She fed him spoonful after spoonful until she had fed the entire cup of yogurt into Frederick's stomach.

She took a tissue and wiped the corner of his mouth, just like she did for Hugo, Justin, and Paul.

"All done. Lie down and sleep!" Isabella said. Then she got up to leave, but Frederick suddenly grabbed her wrist.

The movement was quick but gentle.

Isabella didn't feel any pain, and since it wasn't the first time he had grabbed her, she wasn't scared, just curious, asking, "What's up?"

Frederick frowned at her, and after a long while, he reluctantly said, "Don't go."

What? Don't go?

Isabella's eyes widened. She couldn't stay with him all night, could she?

She needed to sleep, too!

Besides, men and women shouldn't be so close!

Isabella refused, "You go to sleep. I need to use the bathroom."

She found an excuse to leave, her heart skipping a beat.

He was kind of handsome, and his pleading tone made it hard to refuse!

Luckily, she wasn't Freya; she had strong resistance!

Isabella went to the kitchen to wash the yogurt cup, then went to the bathroom, and finally went to sleep in the study.

Frederick kept his eyes open but didn't wait for Isabella to return.

Intoxicated, he closed his eyes in a daze, as if he were dreaming or reminiscing.

In the cold winter, with snow all around.

Natalie, in a long white down coat, squatted in front of him, pinching his cheek affectionately, her smile radiant, remarking, "Frederick, be good at kindergarten, eat well, play nicely with the other kids, and listen to the teacher, okay?"

Young Frederick, in a little suit, stood in front of Natalie, looking just like Dennis now.

Unhappy about being separated, he pouted as he exclaimed, "I don't want to go to kindergarten!"

"Why? Aren't you happy at kindergarten?"

"It's childish!" he replied with a sulky face.

"Haha." Natalie laughed, "At your age, you have to go to kindergarten. You can't skip school."

He frowned and said, "After school, you have to be the first to pick me up, not the second."

"Okay, I promise I'll be the first one there today. Mommy keeps her promises! Pinky swear!"

Natalie held out her little finger. He found the gesture childish, but still hooked his finger with hers and stamped it.

Only then did he reluctantly say goodbye to Natalie and walk to the classroom with the teacher.

At the corner, he heard Natalie say, "Frederick, Mommy and Daddy will always love you!"

He turned back to see Natalie making a heart gesture at him.

At school time, the kindergarten entrance was bustling, and other teachers and parents looked at him.

He felt shy, embarrassed by the public display of affection, and his face turned red!

He kept repeating 'I love you too' in his mind, but was too shy to say it out loud.

Natalie seemed amused by his shyness and laughed even more. She waved at him and turned to walk towards the street.

He watched her back, his eyes full of affection and favoritism.

To him, Natalie was like Snow White, with her long hair flowing as she walked through the crowd towards her Prince Charming!

Sensing his gaze, Natalie turned back, winked playfully, and blew him a kiss.

But suddenly...
