Chapter 185 It's Not a Dream; She's Really Back!

Isabella gave him a meaningful look, uttering, "Yeah, a dog, a mad dog!"

Frederick's face darkened as he asked, "Did you get a rabies shot?"

Isabella was stunned, saying, "Huh? Why would I get a rabies shot?"

Frederick's face turned even darker as he retorted, "A mad dog bit you and you didn't get a rabies shot?"

"I said he's a mad dog, but that doesn't mean he's actually mad. He's just very violent!" Isabella explained.

"And you survived his violence?"

Isabella was speechless. She said helplessly, "Are you hoping I got bitten to death? What good would my death do for you?"

Frederick's face darkened further. He inquired, "When did it bite you?"

Isabella replied irritably, "On the way back from dropping you off!"

"Didn't you see a doctor?"

"The dog wasn't actually mad; why see a doctor? I'm taking the clothes!"

Isabella hurried to leave but was stopped by Frederick. "Hold on!"

Isabella was exasperated, asking, "What now?"

Frederick's expression was stern as he asked, "Let me see the towel."

Isabella was shocked, retorting, "What are you looking at?"

"To see the bite marks on your neck!"

"Why do you need to see that?"

"Can't I?"

"No!"

"Why not?"

"There should be a respectful distance maintained between men and women."

Frederick rolled his eyes at her, questioning, "Isn't your neck always exposed for people to see?"

Isabella was at a loss for words and could only retort with a dark expression, "It's not that you can't see it. I just don't want you to!"

"Why?"

"No reason!"

Frederick's face darkened, clearly unhappy as he uttered, "Isabella, don't make me do it myself. Show me the towel now!"

He wanted to see how violent this dog was and how badly Isabella was bitten. Was there a need for her to get a rabies shot?

Isabella was agitated as she exclaimed, "Are you crazy? It's none of your business. Why do you insist on seeing it?!"

Frederick's voice was stern, "How is it not my business? You're in my house now. If you were bitten by a dog and didn't get a rabies shot, what if that dog has a disease? I have to be responsible for myself and Dennis!"

Isabella was momentarily speechless. Was he calling himself a dog and showing disdain? If she had known, she wouldn't have called him a dog!

But she didn't want him to see the bite marks on her neck, fearing it would remind him of last night.

Isabella changed her story, "It wasn't a dog; it was a person."

"A person bit you?"

"Yes."

"Didn't you just say it was a dog?"

"It was a person!"

Frederick stared at her for a few seconds, suddenly realizing something, and gritted his teeth. He asked, "Did you meet someone on the way back from dropping me off last night?"

Isabella didn't explain, letting him think whatever he wanted.

Seeing her silence, Frederick was furious as he said, "How shameless can you be?! You should have either dropped me off first or met your lover first! Meeting him on the way back, isn't that disgusting?"

Meeting someone on the way back was like taking him along to meet someone else.

"I..."

"If you want to do something indecent next time, stay away from me. And tell your lover not to look for you when I'm around! Don't disgust me! Furthermore, ensure you cover your neck securely; do not let Dennis see it as it offends his sensibilities! Get out."

Isabella remained silent.

Isabella ignored his verbal abuse; it was nothing compared to him knowing the truth!

She took off her clothes and went to the study to change quickly.

Although he didn't remember last night, she couldn't stay long and needed to leave quickly!

Frederick indeed didn't remember. He had drunk too much last night and had been up most of the night without sleep. Now, just waking up, his head was spinning and buzzing.

He put on a robe and went to the bathroom to shower. Passing by Dennis's room, he stopped.

Carefully pushing the door open, he peeked inside.

Observing Dennis peacefully asleep on the bed, a warm expression flashed in Frederick's eyes.

Gently closing the door, he instinctively glanced at the study, his expression immediately turning cold.

He knew Isabella was in there, frowning and showing a look of disdain, he headed to the restroom.

He didn't care who Isabella was with!

She could be with anyone she wanted; it had nothing to do with him. He was just traditional and had no good feelings for people who weren't faithful in relationships.

Closing the bathroom door, Frederick took off his robe and was about to shower.

Suddenly, he noticed scratch marks on his body. Red, long claw marks, resembling those inflicted by a wild cat!

Frederick was surprised. He frowned and looked closely in the mirror, finding not only scratches on the front but even more on his back!

What happened? Who did this?!

Scenes from last night slowly surfaced in his mind...

He had gotten drunk and dreamed of his parents' death scene. He also dreamed of six years ago, the day he returned to the country, being drugged at the airport, and then entangled with Dennis's mother in a dark room...

However, his parents' death scene was indeed a dream; Dennis's mother wasn't!

He clearly remembered that after turning on the light, he found himself not at the airport but in a bedroom!

But Dennis's mother was still lying on his bed at that time!

He even held her tightly and apologized profusely!

So, Dennis's mother was real, not a figment of his imagination. The scratch marks on his body were proof!

It wasn't a dream; she had really come back!

But where was she?

The bite marks on Isabella's neck...

Realizing something, Frederick's breath hitched. He quickly wrapped himself in a robe and opened the bathroom door!

Isabella was just at the door!

She was crouching, trying to turn the doorknob quietly to sneak out!

Frederick's sudden appearance left Isabella startled and embarrassed. She stammered, "Dennis is still sleeping. I wanted to go home and check on my son. I'll come back later, bye."

She finished and tried to leave!

Frederick's hand quickly pressed against the door, closing it tightly!

He wouldn't let her leave!

Isabella shivered in fear, turning to look at him, her back pressed against the door. She asked, "What are you doing?"

Frederick's breathing was heavy as he inquired, "Was it you?"

"Huh? What was I?"

"Last night, was it you?"

Isabella's breath caught, her heart leaping into her throat!

Did he remember?

Before Isabella could speak, Frederick asked again, "Six years ago, was it you, too?"

Isabella panicked completely, answering, "It wasn't me! I don't know what you're talking about. Six years ago, I was in a mountain village!"

"You're lying! Six years ago, you were in Teronica! I investigated you!"

"Yes, I was in Teronica six years ago, but after I divorced my husband, I went to the mountain village. I never saw you; I don't know you! I don't know what you're talking about!"

Frederick's chest heaved with emotion as he asked, "Then tell me, what were you doing on March 27th, six years ago?"
