Chapter 190 Mommy, Dennis is Really Your Son!
"Mama, come here."
Hugo, wearing a mask, took Isabella's hand and led her back inside.
Frederick also wanted to go in, but Hugo blocked him, saying, "You wait outside!"
Frederick didn't say anything.
Hugo left Frederick outside and took Isabella into the house.
He led Isabella to the study and first had her drink some water to calm down.
"What do you want to talk to Mommy about?" Isabella asked.
Only then did Hugo dare to speak, "Mama, I already know about the past. I know why you suddenly wanted to leave today, and I also know that the person outside is my daddy."
Isabella jumped up in shock, uttering, "Who told you that?!"
Hugo gently pulled her to sit down and lied, "I accidentally overheard you talking to Freya about the past, and that's how I found out."
Isabella was very flustered as she remarked, "Hugo, I'm sorry; I lied to you. Your daddy is indeed not dead, he..."
"It's okay, Mommy did nothing wrong," Hugo interrupted her and added, "We only share a blood relationship with him; we don't like him, we only like Mommy."
Hearing this, Isabella felt much more at ease and cautiously asked, "What else do you know?"
Hugo selectively said, "I also know that six years ago at the airport, you accidentally had a sexual encounter with him, and then you were harshly criticized. After that, you went to the countryside and had a very tough time while pregnant with us."
Mentioning those years, Isabella felt a lump in her throat.
Just as she was about to say something, Hugo suddenly looked at her and gently said, "Mommy, you've had a hard time all these years."
Hearing Hugo's words, Isabella broke down.
All the hardships and suffering from those years seemed worth it at that moment!
For a mother, what could be more touching than hearing, "Mommy, you've had a hard time"?
"Mommy didn't have a hard time, not at all. But you guys, following such a clumsy and incapable mommy, had a hard time. From the time you were in Mommy's belly, you were already suffering. You didn't get to eat anything good, so when you were born, you were so small and thin."
Thinking about the first time she saw her children, Isabella couldn't help but shed tears.
At that time, Hugo, Justin, and Paul were so tiny, clearly malnourished.
She was carrying multiples, so the babies were already smaller than normal, and she didn't get much nutrition during the pregnancy, working hard to make money.
As a result, when the babies were born, they were small and thin, with wrinkled skin, looking like little old men.
Hugo tenderly wiped her tears, remarking, "We didn't have a hard time; we were happy. We were lucky to have you as our mommy."
Isabella was sobbing uncontrollably. "Mommy is the happy one. Thank you for being my sons."
At this moment, Hugo seemed more like the parent, and Isabella more like the child.
Hugo's eyes were just red, but Isabella was already crying her heart out.
Hugo gently wiped Isabella's tears and said, "The hard days are over. From now on, we'll take good care of Mommy and never let you suffer again."
Isabella cried like a little girl, not out of sadness but full of emotion.
After she cried for a while, Hugo brought up Dennis. He said, "I also heard your conversation with Daddy Dennis earlier. He wasn't lying; you are indeed Dennis's biological mother."
Isabella's eyes widened again as she inquired, "How is that possible?"
"It's true. If you don't believe him, don't you believe me? I would never lie to you about something so important. Dennis has already done a paternity test."
Seeing Hugo's serious face, which didn't resemble a joke in the slightest, Isabella started to breathe rapidly!
Looking incredulous, she questioned, "How could it be? How could I be Dennis's mother? If I really am, why didn't I know about Dennis's existence? He was in my belly for over nine months; how could I not know? Could Dennis have made a mistake? Are you sure it's me?"
The unexpected news was too sudden, and Isabella couldn't believe it for a moment!
Hugo seriously told her, "When Mommy was pregnant with us, the conditions were tough, and you didn't go to the hospital for check-ups. Later, when you gave birth to us, you were unconscious. Mommy didn't even know how you gave birth to us or how many babies were in your belly. We are multiples, and I suspect Dennis was taken away at birth, so Mama didn't know about him."
Isabella was stunned, her heart pounding like a drum!
Hugo's explanation made sense. When she was about to give birth, she fainted on the road and woke up in the mountains, with the babies already born.
She wouldn't have known if one or even two were missing!
Slowly accepting the reality, Isabella started to panic. "Hugo, is Dennis really your biological brother?"
"Yes! Dennis is our biological brother and your biological son! Let me show you something," Hugo said. Hugo took out a photo to show Isabella.
It was the paternity test report of Isabella and Dennis, in electronic form.
The report showed that the DNA similarity between Isabella and Dennis was 99.99999%!
It confirmed their mother-son relationship!
Isabella's breath hitched, almost suffocating!
She was so excited that her lips moved for a long time without making any sound, trembling all the while.
Hugo tightly held her trembling hand, as if he could read her mind, speaking directly to her heart, "Mommy, congratulations on having another son. Our family has grown, and now we are a family of five. We are all very happy! And Dennis loves you very much. He knows you didn't abandon him on purpose, so he doesn't blame you at all. He loves you just like Justin, Paul, and I do!"
Isabella burst into tears, her tears streaming down.
Dennis is her biological son!
Her Dennis, living alone out in the world for so many years, missed her every single day and longed for her every night, and yet she had no idea!
She was so stupid!
Dennis looked so much like Hugo and Justin, and she had even suspected it. Why didn't she think of doing a paternity test?
To be so foolish as to reach her level is truly a profound failure in life!
Whenever she thought of Dennis's situation over the years, and the curses and verbal attacks from Anna and her cohorts, Isabella felt as though a knife were being twisted in her heart.
Thinking about Dennis's psychological issues caused by missing her, she wanted to slap herself!
She had blamed Eric outside, but now she thought, what right did she have to blame him? She was just as guilty!
Dennis had grown up so much, and she hadn't fulfilled any of her responsibilities as a mother!
What formula did Dennis drink as a baby? What funny things did he do? When did he start crawling and sitting? At what age did he start walking, talking, and calling for daddy and mama? What did Dennis love to eat, play with, what was his favorite color, and game?
She didn't know! She knew nothing!
When Dennis thought of her, when he was ill, and when he was cursed by those from the Valdemar family, she was absent!
She wasn't a qualified mother! She felt like such a failure!
Isabella was heartbroken, tears streaming down like rain.
