Chapter 75 My Mind Is Full of Isabella

"What does 'taking the initiative to show goodwill' even mean? Is it the same as seducing me? What's Isabella up to?" Frederick wondered.

He got home, still scratching his head, and opened the insulated box. The smell hit him right away.

The food looked amazing.

Frederick hesitated but eventually tried a bit of everything.

Before he knew it, he'd eaten more than half.

If he hadn't stopped himself, he might've eaten Dennis's share too.

He checked the time; it wasn't even six yet. He put the rest of the food back in the box and headed to his room.

He couldn't fall back asleep.

Lying on his bed, hands behind his head, he stared at the ceiling, thinking about Isabella.

He couldn't figure out her game and kept overthinking.

At 6:30 AM, Dennis got up and went to wash up.

Frederick had already set the remaining breakfast on the table. When Dennis finished, Frederick called him to eat.

Dennis looked at the food, then at Frederick, clearly puzzled.

Dennis's breakfasts were usually fancy. Today's looked pretty basic.

Especially the waffles, which Dennis had never had before.

Frederick knew what Dennis was thinking and said, "I made it."

Dennis was skeptical. "You've never made these before."

Frederick replied, "That's why I made them. It's something new I learned. Try it."

He placed a bagel on Dennis's plate.

"Give it a shot."

Dennis didn't think much, stared at the bagel, took a bite, and chewed.

Frederick watched him closely.

After a bit, Dennis said, "It's good."

Frederick felt relieved and happy.

He smiled, "If you like it, eat more. These are yours too, and try the eggs."

Dennis didn't say anything and quietly ate.

Frederick felt touched watching Dennis finish everything.

Dennis finally ate well!

But then, something unexpected happened.

"Is there more?"

Dennis looked at him, hopeful.

Frederick was stunned.

"What?"

Dennis said, "I'm not full. I want more."

Frederick's mouth twitched.

"There's no more."

Dennis asked, "Can you make some more?"

If Frederick had nailed it and Dennis liked it, he'd already be in the kitchen making it, but he didn't and couldn't.

He said, "I can't. I have something urgent today. I'll make it for you later."

Dennis looked disappointed.

He didn't say anything, washed his hands, and went back to his room.

Frederick felt a mix of happiness and regret.

He was glad Dennis finally showed interest in something other than his mom. Dennis asking for more food meant he liked it. But Frederick regretted not being able to explore Dennis's interest further and give him a good breakfast.

Overall, it was good that Dennis liked Isabella's cooking.

He quickly called John to take care of Dennis and headed out.

Meanwhile, Isabella had just seen off Hugo, Justin, and Paul.

The kids didn't need breakfast at home since they ate at kindergarten, so they left early with Freya.

Isabella was tidying up, glancing at her phone now and then.

She wanted to call Frederick to ask if Dennis liked her cooking and if he had eaten it.

But she worried Frederick might be with Dennis, and a call might give her away.

So she just waited anxiously.

The phone rang.

Isabella immediately thought of Frederick and rushed to pick it up.

Seeing it was him, she got excited!

Her heart raced.

"Hello."

"Make some more bagels when you have time. Dennis likes them," Frederick said, sounding like he was giving an order.

His tone was cold, but he couldn't hide his excitement.

He was in a good mood, a bit happy.

Isabella was thrilled to hear this and asked, "Really? Did he say anything?"

"He wasn't full."

"What? Not full? Does Dennis eat that much?"

Frederick was too embarrassed to admit he had eaten most of it, so he just said, "Yeah. Make more later."

Isabella didn't think much of it. "Okay, when does he want to eat again?"

"Tonight, or tomorrow morning."

"Alright! I'll make it this afternoon and have it ready before dinner. I'll contact you when it's done."

Isabella was about to hang up when Frederick suddenly said, "Come out. Let's talk."

"What?"

"Come downstairs in ten minutes. I'll come to you."

"Why do you want to see me?"

"To talk, about Dennis."

Hearing this, Isabella let her guard down and said, "Okay, see you downstairs in a bit."

"Okay."

Isabella was very happy after hanging up.

She didn't know why, but she was just happy that Dennis liked her cooking.

As long as she took action, could success be far away?

She didn't know when she would leave Teronica, but before she left, she sincerely hoped Dennis would get better.

Isabella put down her phone and went to her bedroom to change into outdoor clothes.

Just as she finished changing, the doorbell rang.

She thought it was Frederick and opened the door directly.

But it wasn't him; it was two strange men.

Isabella was puzzled.

"Who are you..."

The next second, the men suddenly rushed in, covered her mouth, and dragged her into the elevator.

Isabella struggled desperately, but she was no match for the two men.

They took her to the garage and shoved her into a car.

She wanted to scream, but they sealed her mouth, tied her hands and legs, and quickly drove away from the neighborhood.

She didn't know how long the car had been driving, but it finally stopped at an unfinished building in the suburbs.

Isabella panicked even more as soon as she got out of the car!

Bringing her to such a desolate place, were they going to kill her?
