Chapter 189 Isabella, Doesn't Your Heart Ache?

Hugo left the bedroom to find Isabella.

But instead, he heard Isabella's angry roar from outside the door.

He quickly closed the bedroom door to prevent Justin from hearing and losing control, which could cause trouble.

Hugo went to the door alone, grabbed a small stool, and stood on it to look outside through the peephole.

Frederick!

Hugo's heart skipped a beat. Why did he come so quickly?

He looked through the peephole again and saw Elliot standing next to Frederick, but he couldn't see Frederick's expression, only the back of his head.

Hugo frowned and stood inside the door, eavesdropping.

Outside the door.

Because Frederick had come, Isabella was very agitated. She lowered her voice and shouted, "I said I'm not! You need to leave now! If you don't go, I'll call the police! I don't want to see you. Go out! Right now! Immediately!"

Frederick stood at the door, looking hurt.

Although the test results hadn't come out yet, he was already convinced it was her!

After arranging for a new paternity test and leaving the sleeping Dennis with Elijah, he rushed to find Isabella.

It had only been less than an hour since he last saw Isabella, but he couldn't stand it anymore!

It felt like he had been apart from her for a century!

He rushed over to see her without even thinking about what to say, just wanting to look at her.

It seemed like only when she was in his sight could he feel at ease.

However intensely he longed to see Isabella, she was equally determined to avoid him!

His sudden arrival made Isabella furious!

Moreover, Hugo, Justin, and Paul were all still at home, and she was worried that Frederick would discover them. So besides being angry, she was also very nervous!

She kept shouting for Frederick to leave, but Frederick stood there stubbornly, refusing to go.

The atmosphere between them was very strange.

Elliot stood awkwardly between them, not daring to breathe.

He had never seen Frederick so cowardly, not daring to say a word while being scolded, nor had he ever seen Isabella with such a big temper!

In his eyes, Frederick was always the one scolding others, not the other way around. And Isabella had always been gentle.

The two of them today were very unfamiliar to him!

Elliot braced himself to try to ease the tension, saying, "Ms. Beniere, please calm down. Eric just came to see you; that's all."

"Eric, you've seen her now. How about we leave?"

As soon as Elliot finished speaking, both of them looked at him, each fiercer than the other.

"I don't want him to see me!"

"Shut up! Get lost!"

Elliot fell silent as he thought, 'Okay, I shouldn't have spoken. You two continue, don't mind me, I'm just air. I shouldn't be here; I should be downstairs!'

Elliot had long wanted to run away. He shrank his neck and quickly got into the elevator and left.

Isabella's phone rang; it was Freya calling. She said, "Isabella, are you guys ready? I've emptied the trunk. Just bring your stuff down, and I'll take you to the train station."

"I know, I'll be down soon. Wait for us."

Isabella had just hung up the phone and hadn't had time to put it away when Frederick grabbed her wrist tightly!

He was very emotional as he inquired, "You're leaving again?"

Struggling, Isabella shouted, "What does it matter to you? Let go of me!"

"It doesn't matter to me, but what about Dennis? I made mistakes, and you can hate me! But what did Dennis do wrong? Why do you keep abandoning him? Have you thought about how Dennis will live after you leave?"

She kept abandoning Dennis? Where did that come from?

Before Isabella could ask, Frederick continued, "You can do whatever you want to me—hit me, scold me, even stab me in the heart—I won't resist. As long as it brings you relief and happiness! But you can't be so cruel to Dennis!

Do you know how much Dennis misses you? Whether it's windy, rainy, thundering, snowing, or hailing, you are the first person on his mind!

He worries that you'll forget to bring an umbrella on rainy days, that you'll be scared by the thunder, and that you'll be cold when it snows or hails!

During countless cold nights, Dennis stubbornly refuses to go back inside to sleep, insisting on standing outside waiting for you, just hoping to see you the moment you return!

Do you know how Dennis has gotten through these thousands of days and nights since he started missing his mommy?

Do you know the feeling of yearning day and night, of pining to the point of falling ill?

He has longed for and missed you for so long, and just after calling you 'Mommy' for two days, you are already abandoning him again! Isabella, doesn't your heart ache?

The more Frederick loved her, the more he hated her when it came to Dennis.

He believed Dennis had been abandoned by Isabella!

He felt sorry for Dennis!

He knew how much Dennis had missed her all these years, just like he did!

This sensation was profoundly unbearable!

Isabella was stunned by his words, asking, "Are you mistaken? Dennis misses his biological mother, not me!"

Frederick gritted his teeth as he retorted, "Am I mistaken, or are you unwilling to admit it?!"

Isabella frowned. "Why wouldn't I admit it? If Dennis were my child, I'd be overjoyed! Why wouldn't I admit it?"

Frederick said angrily, "I've only ever had sex with you in my life. So, if Dennis isn't your child, whose could he be?"

Being stunned, Isabella inquired, "What do you mean you've only been with me? Don't talk nonsense!"

Frederick glared at her, enunciating each word as he said, "I've only ever been with one woman in my life, in the airport lounge six years ago! Dennis and I have always missed her!"

Isabella's breath caught, her eyes full of shock.

Her heart was pounding like a drum; it's deafening!

Frederick continued, "When Dennis suddenly said he wanted you to be his mommy, I was puzzled. Dennis loved his mommy so much; how could he just abandon her for you?

I didn't think much of it at the time, but now I realize there must be a reason. Dennis must have already known that you are his long-lost mother, which is why he asked you to be his mommy!"

Isabella was panicking, shaking her head frantically.

No, if Dennis were her child, how could she not know?

He had been in her womb for nine months; she couldn't possibly not know!

And if Dennis was sure she was his mother, why didn't he tell her?

Just this morning, Dennis was crying because she was leaving. Why didn't he tell the truth to persuade her to stay?

If Dennis had said they were mother and son, she wouldn't have left him no matter what!

He must have been using Dennis to keep her from leaving!

Isabella's mind was in chaos, not clear-headed, and she continued to deny it, "I don't care how many women you've been with, but I haven't had sex with you, and I'm not Dennis's mother. You need to leave! Don't force me to call the police!"

Inside the door, Hugo was anxious. He knew Dennis's matter couldn't be hidden anymore.

The door opened from the inside, and Hugo came out.
