Chapter 38 He Is Clearly Different Towards That Woman!

Douglas asked, "Didn't you have someone investigate her?"

"I didn't find any useful information."

"Yes, if she was really sent by the Valdemar family to break into your place, the Valdemar family would definitely alter her identity information.

"However, Dennis is the only grandson of the Valdemar family. According to Nicholas's emphasis on bloodline, even if he didn't like Dennis, he definitely wouldn't harm him.

"After all, if Dennis had an accident, the Valdemar family would be even more chaotic. He couldn't control his three children, let alone have the energy to control you. So even if she gets close to Dennis, she wouldn't harm him."

Frederick flicked the ash, Douglas was right.

Douglas added, "Moreover, if she is really sent by the Valdemar family, Nicholas played this move very well!"

If he sent an ordinary woman to approach Frederick, he wouldn't give this woman a chance.

Isabella was proficient in child psychology and could help Dennis recover. Just based on this, Frederick would not easily let her leave.

And if she could truly cure Dennis's bipolar disorder, even if she had to take Frederick's life, he would give it to her.

In other words, as long as she defeated Dennis, there was no need to defeat Frederick anymore.

Frederick lost before he was even attacked.

He was strung along by Isabella.

When Frederick remained silent, Douglas spoke again, "However, just because they met privately doesn't necessarily mean she had a relationship with Nicholas. Maybe Nicholas met her because she understands psychology and intentionally sought her out? Perhaps she doesn't even know Nicholas at all?"

Frederick remained silent and glanced at Douglas.

Because the test results showed that Isabella was not Dennis's biological mother, it deepened his bias against her.

So when he saw the photo of her with Nicholas today, he thought she was sent by Nicholas to get close to him.

Even though she approached Frederick and told him about meeting Nicholas, he still didn't believe her.

Frederick thought carefully, 'Douglas's analysis might be right.'

"If she was really sent by Nicholas, she wouldn't have come to the hospital today to repay me. She wouldn't have voluntarily mentioned meeting Nicholas," Frederick mused.

Frederick thought for a moment and made a phone call to Jared Spencer. "By any means necessary, get Jacoby to tell the truth. I want to know what Nicholas and Isabella said at the café today."

Hanging up the phone, Frederick lit another cigarette.

Apart from this, Isabella's accusations also troubled him.

She tilted her small face upwards, looking at him with a determined gaze, explaining seriously, even swearing.

Frederick thought, 'She told me that she could risk her life and take responsibility for every word she said. Did I really misunderstand her? Even if we don't consider the meeting between her and Nicholas, what about those things in the past? She said I bully little girls, but when have I ever bullied a little girl? Besides bullying her, who else did I bully?'

"What are you thinking about now?" Douglas tapped him on the shoulder.

Frederick emerged from his thoughts, took a deep drag of his cigarette, and remained silent.

Douglas's phone rang. It was Lucas calling.

"Douglas, where did you and Frederick go? Hurry back, everyone else is already here," Lucas said.

Douglas said, "We are going back right away."

He hung up the phone and said to Frederick, "Let's go, stop thinking about it for now. Lucas called us back."

Frederick sighed quietly, extinguished his cigarette in the ashtray, and headed to the private room with Douglas.

Douglas said again, "There's something I need to tell you in advance, Britty really likes that girl a lot now. If you plan to do anything to her later, you better be discreet, or Britty will definitely make a scene!

"She won't confront you, so she will confront me instead, asking me to set boundaries with you. In the end, we might not even be able to be friends."

Frederick sneered and mocked, "You're really incompetent."

"You don't have a sister, so you don't know how much a sister's criticism can affect a younger brother!"

Frederick glanced at him disdainfully and then walked back to the private room.

Lucas smiled and said, "You're back, everyone is here. Today is my birthday. Let me say thank you all for coming to celebrate my birthday. Let's start with a toast."

Everyone raised their glasses to celebrate Lucas's birthday.

Frederick sat at the head of the table, not getting up. He picked up his glass, tapped it on the table, and then drank it all in one go.

Others looked at him, all momentarily stunned.

It was originally just a sip, but Frederick finished his drink, so they had to finish too.

Everyone was chatting happily when someone wanted to toast to Frederick. Douglas, knowing that Frederick was not in a good mood, declined on his behalf.

"Don't toast to Frederick, toast to Lucas instead. It's his birthday today. If you don't get him drunk and let him sleep with a woman, you're not real men," Douglas said.

The people attending the birthday party were all intelligent individuals. They knew that Douglas was declining the invitation to drink alcohol on behalf of Frederick.

They all glanced at Frederick's face again, and could tell that he was not in a good mood. So, one by one, they turned their heads towards Lucas.

A group of people were joking, saying that today they were determined to make him sleep with a woman no matter what.

There were still people laughing and saying some vulgar things.

Frederick didn't want to make others unhappy, so even though he was irritated, he didn't leave.

He lit another cigarette, sitting back in the chair alone, puffing away. Then he glanced over at Daniel.

When he went out just now, he saw Isabella talking to Daniel.

It seems they should be quite familiar, but Daniel was looking at her lewdly.

Noticing he was being stared at, Daniel quickly turned to Frederick. He was thinking about how to start a conversation with Frederick, and now the opportunity had arrived.

Daniel immediately walked over with a glass of wine, smiling as he said, "Mr. Valdemar, nice to meet you for the first time. Let me offer you a drink. You don't have to drink, I will just finish mine."

Daniel tilted his head back and finished a whole cup, while Frederick was still smoking.

'A person at Daniel's level isn't even worthy of drinking with me,' Frederick thought.

If it weren't for Lucas's birthday party, they might never have met in their lifetime.

The upper class circle was not something anyone could just say they wanted to blend into and then get in.
