Chapter 167 Stupid Dad, There's No Saving Him!

Hugo said, "It's not just about apologizing, you need to make her happy again!"

Frederick frowned as he asked, "How do I do that?"

"That's your problem. You made her cry, so you need to fix it. It's your responsibility!"

"I'll try my best to make her happy."

"You must make her happy!"

Frederick fell silent.

The two stared at each other, and for a moment, the room fell silent. Then, Frederick spoke again, "If you can really handle this properly, I promise to apologize to her and make her happy!"

Hugo was skeptical, asking, "Have you thought of a way to make her happy?"

"Yes."

"What way?"

"That's my problem."

Hugo squinted his eyes and didn't press further. "Keep your word!"

Frederick replied, "Keep your word!"

After they agreed on the terms, Hugo finally spoke, "If I were you, I would definitely handle tonight's matter with Dennis at the center."

"When Dennis told me he wanted to be my mommy's son, I was very happy because he finally took the first step. His world no longer revolves around just his mother, which is a sign of his gradual recovery!"

"And for his mental and physical health, as long as he's happy, regardless of the conditions he sets forth, I would fully support and cooperate with him unconditionally!"

Frederick frowned as he inquired, "Cooperating with him means becoming Isabella's husband?"

"Where does your confidence come from? Do you think just because you want to be my mom's husband, she will agree? Hasn't my mom told you she doesn't like you? She doesn't care about you at all. You want to be her husband? Dream on!"

Frederick remained silent.

After scolding him, Hugo continued, "If you were smart enough, you should push the problem onto my mom. Anyway, she doesn't like you, and even if you want to be her husband, she won't agree!"

"She only wants to recognize Dennis as her son, and she will never recognize you as her husband. So before you rush to handle this matter, she will take the initiative to talk to Dennis!"

"She will clearly tell Dennis that she doesn't like you, won't be with you, and won't let you be her husband."

"At that point, even if Dennis is disappointed, he won't be angry because he likes her. He won't be mad at her, and he also won't blame you. Dennis is not angry, nor is my mother, because the issue does not lie with you. Therefore, neither of them will be upset with you."

"In this way, you won't be angry nor agitated, and you won't offend anyone!"

"You also won't have to worry about how to properly address Dennis's psychological issues without my mom! Isn't this the perfect solution for everyone?"

Frederick's eyelid twitched, and he suddenly came to a realization.

It was only then that he realized his approach was indeed wrong!

Hugo made sense. He shouldn't have gone against Dennis; he should have supported whatever Dennis did and let Isabella reject Dennis!

If, when Dennis said, "I will be Isabella's son, and you can be her husband," he had replied without hesitation, Dennis would not have been angered nor spoken those harsh words.

Then he could have gone to Isabella to discuss the matter, and Isabella would have definitely talked to Dennis, as Hugo said.

In the end, he wouldn't have to be Isabella's husband, and Dennis wouldn't blame him. Maybe after Dennis faced rejection from Isabella, he would even turn to him for comfort, and they could have a heart-to-heart talk!

It really would be a perfect solution for everyone!

Frederick regretted it. Why hadn't he thought of handling the problem that way? He had been impulsive!

The room was quiet for a moment, and Frederick squinted his eyes at Hugo and asked, "Who is your dad?"

Dennis and Paul shivered at the question, looking at him warily, then at Hugo!

Hugo also squinted his eyes, retorting, "Why do you want to know about my dad?"

"Just curious."

"Don't want to say."

"What does your dad do?"

"Also, don't want to say."

Frederick stared at him for a while longer and then sincerely remarked, "You take after your dad."

"What?"

"Your mom is dumb. You must have inherited your dad's good genes to be this smart."

Hugo sneered again, "My dad's IQ isn't that great either. The fact that he got involved with my mom is a blessing!"

"You don't like your dad?"

"It's not about liking or disliking, I only like my mom. Why like someone who doesn't raise their children?"

Frederick was curious, inquiring, "Why didn't he raise you?"

Hugo stared at him intently as he asked, "That's a question you should ask him!"

Frederick frowned slightly, feeling that Hugo's gaze seemed to be piercing through him!

It was as if Hugo was talking about him!

But he had nothing to do with Hugo, so it couldn't be about him.

Frederick said sincerely, "Not raising his children is irresponsible."

"Yeah!" This time, not only did Hugo nod, but Dennis and Paul also nodded in agreement.

No matter the reason, not raising one's children was irresponsible! He was scolding himself! He deserved it!

Dennis suddenly spoke up anxiously, "If I were you, I would do everything in my power to be good to her! I would rack my brains to find ways to make her happy! I would never do anything I would regret later!"

By "her," he meant Isabella. Dennis was so anxious that he was practically pulling his hair out. He couldn't wait to tell Frederick that Isabella was the woman he had been looking for all along!

'Wake up and go after Isabella! Even if it means using a pity ploy or winning her over with love, just get her! Isabella is so wonderful; if you don't go after her, what if someone else takes her away?' Dennis shouted internally.

Frederick turned to Dennis, asking, "If I'm not good to her, I'll regret it later?"

Dennis replied, "You will definitely regret it!"

"Why?"

"Because if your son likes her, there must be a reason. At the very least, it proves she's worth liking! If you end up liking her in the future and you're not good to her now, you'll definitely regret it later!"

Frederick said firmly, "I won't like her!"

Dennis gritted his teeth, retorting, "What if you do?"

"There's no chance of that!" Frederick answered coldly.

"I'm saying what if!" Dennis was practically dying of frustration.

Frederick, looking aloof, sneered, "There won't be a 'what if.' I will never like her in this lifetime!"

Dennis fell silent and thought, 'Stupid dad! You are hopeless! And you are still laughing. Let's see how long you can continue.'

Dennis really didn't want to talk to Frederick anymore. He turned his head away in a huff, not wanting to look at Frederick even for a second!

Hugo knew Dennis was anxious, but Frederick was clueless when it came to emotions!

Dennis resented his lack of understanding, thus, he brooded in silent anger.

This wasn't the time to openly comfort Dennis, so Hugo discreetly nudged him as a sign of comfort.

Then he seriously asked Frederick, "Do you think my idea is good?"

"Good," Frederick acknowledged.

"Then don't forget our agreement. Adults shouldn't lie to kids. You have to make my mom happy! If you can't make her happy, even if you beg her to meet Dennis in the future, we won't allow it!"

Hugo deliberately tried to scare Frederick!

Frederick said, frowning, "Got it."

Hugo secretly breathed a sigh of relief; tonight's big issue was resolved.

He looked at Frederick and said meaningfully, "Dennis has psychological issues. My mom genuinely sympathizes with him and cares for him. She sincerely wants to be good to Dennis. She never intended to use Dennis to get close to you or to ruin your relationship with Dennis. She is not your enemy; she is your benefactor!"

"So even if you don't like her, you should treat her with respect and gratitude. You shouldn't be angry with her or wrong her!"

"And have you ever thought about what would happen if my mom weren't around? Would Dennis go crazy?"

Frederick remained silent.

Hugo had said enough and didn't need to say more. He had already said everything he wanted to say.

"Think it over carefully. We're going to check on Justin," Hugo said coldly.

With that, he took Dennis and Paul to meet up with Justin.

As soon as Hugo, Dennis, and Paul left, Frederick's phone rang. It was Elliot calling.

Elliot's voice emanated from the other end of the phone, "Eric, something's wrong! Ms. Beniere is in trouble!"
