Chapter 99 Isabella, Do You Want Me to Offer Myself to You?
Frederick lit up a cigarette, and just as he did, a gust of wind blew the smoke right into Isabella's face, making her cough.
Frederick glanced at her, hesitated for a second, then put out the cigarette.
Isabella gave him another quick look.
He was being unusually nice today!
Realizing something, Isabella suddenly got nervous.
Frederick broke the silence, "Thanks for saving Dennis today."
"No problem!"
"What do you want?"
"Nothing, really!"
"You did Dennis a huge favor. You can ask for anything, and I'll make it happen."
"Seriously, it's not necessary! You don't like me, and I don't like you either. Let's skip the whole 'offering myself in gratitude' thing; I can't accept that!"
Before coming to the hospital today, Douglas had called her out of the blue.
First, he thanked her for saving Dennis, then he mentioned that Frederick wanted to offer himself in gratitude but was too shy. If she had feelings for him, she could bring it up herself.
She definitely wasn't interested in him, so she wanted to clear things up to avoid any awkwardness later!
But Frederick hadn't thought about it that way at all.
He didn't even know Douglas had called Isabella.
So, hearing her words, he squinted his eyes slightly and looked at her with a puzzled expression, "Are you hinting that I should offer myself in gratitude?"
"I'm not! I'm just reminding you."
Frederick stared at her for a moment and then said bluntly, "No need for that. I only have feelings for Dennis's mom. No matter what, I won't be with any other woman. So don't overthink it."
Seeing his serious tone, Isabella felt relieved, "That's for the best."
Frederick continued, "But you saved Dennis. Aside from offering myself, I can fulfill any other condition you have."
Isabella pouted.
Right now, she just wanted to divorce Frederick, but Eric had once said he didn't know Frederick, so she couldn't count on him.
She was really short on money, but he had already gone bankrupt and still needed to pay for Dennis's medical bills. She wasn't that heartless.
Besides, saving Dennis was something she did voluntarily; she never expected any reward.
So she said, "Saving Dennis was my choice. I don't need your repayment."
"Then I owe you a favor. If you ever need anything in the future, you can come to me anytime."
"I don't need your favor either, but I hope that if we ever have a conflict in the future, you can give in to me once." Isabella thought of Hugo, Justin, and Paul. If there ever came a time when they fought over the child, she hoped he would give in and grant her custody!
Frederick was suspicious, "What kind of conflict?"
Isabella mumbled softly, "I mean if."
"Alright, I promise you, if that time ever comes, I'll definitely give in to you."
"Keep your word!"
"Okay!"
Isabella felt much more at ease. This was also a way to secure a future path.
Of course, it would be best if that time never came, and Hugo, Justin, and Paul's identities were never exposed.
Frederick suddenly transferred $100,000 to her.
Isabella saw it and was shocked, "What the heck!"
"You saved Dennis. I can't just give you nothing; my conscience wouldn't allow it." Frederick would have given her way more, but remembering how she reacted when the Perry family gave her money, he held back.
Isabella loved money but was also timid. If he gave too much, she definitely wouldn't dare to accept it.
After all, Isabella was just an ordinary woman. $100,000 might be more than she could earn in a year, so it was a significant amount for her.
She hesitated, "This money, I..."
Frederick knew what she was struggling with and reassured her, "Dennis likes your cooking. Consider this as payment for the meals."
Isabella hesitated for a moment and then nodded, "Alright! I'll accept it for now! If Dennis wants to eat anything, just let me know! While I'm in Teronica, I'll take care of his meals!"
"And mine too," Frederick suddenly added.
"Huh?" Isabella didn't expect him to make this request and was stunned.
Frederick didn't hold back and took the opportunity to say, "Cook more from now on. Dennis likes it when I eat with him."
The reason was very sufficient. It's not that he wanted to eat her food; he just wanted to eat with Dennis.
Isabella readily agreed, "No problem!"
"And the 5 million dollars you owe me, I'll give you a 50% discount." He didn't directly waive the debt, worried that if she ever decided not to take care of Dennis, he could still use this to hold her accountable.
