Chapter 174 Drunken Misconduct

Frederick was drinking when he suddenly sneezed.

Douglas squinted and teased, "Someone's talking bad about you."

Frederick ignored him, not even glancing his way, and continued drinking. He drank himself into a stupor.

He leaned back on the sofa, eyes closed, tugging at his tie, looking very uncomfortable.

"Frederick," Douglas called his name several times, but there was no response.

After confirming he was unconscious, Douglas asked Elliot, "What happened today? Why is he so upset?"

Douglas used the word 'upset' instead of 'angry.'

Having been together for a long time, Douglas knew Frederick well. Frederick's reactions to being upset and being angry were completely different. Tonight, he was upset, not angry.

Elliot scratched his head, looking confused as he answered, "I don't even know how to explain."

"Just tell me whatever comes to mind, I'll listen."

"It all started with Dennis, no, actually with Ms. Beniere..." Elliot recounted everything that happened today to Douglas.

He mentioned Dennis wanting Isabella to be his mommy, Dennis's split personality arguing with Frederick, and Frederick wanting to meet Isabella's child, which made Isabella very nervous and angry.

He also talked about Isabella fainting and being taken to the hospital, waking up and slapping Frederick, and Frederick being drugged and stripped by Isabella.

And before coming to the bar, Frederick cornered Isabella and dragged her to the gazebo for a private chat.

"That's about it, but I don't know what they talked about in private. I just know that after Ms. Beniere left, Frederick was smoking alone in the gazebo, and he was already in a bad state," Elliot stated.

Douglas listened quietly with his almond-shaped eyes, and after hearing everything, he asked, "Did they mention Dennis's mother today?"

Elliot shook his head, replying, "I don't know."

Douglas muttered to himself, "They must have. Only Dennis's mother could make Frederick this upset."

"But I didn't hear Frederick mention her."

"You didn't hear their conversation in the gazebo, did you? Maybe that's when it came up?"

"True, but why would Frederick talk to Ms. Beniere about Dennis's mother? And why was the conversation so heated?"

Douglas stared at the drunken Frederick for a while and then asked, "Dennis wants Isabella to be his mommy?"

"Yeah!"

"He doesn't want his real mommy anymore?"

Elliot sighed, "I don't know. Dennis is just as hard to read as Frederick."

Douglas asked again, "Whose idea was this? Dennis's or Isabella's?"

"It seems like it was Dennis's."

"So, Dennis is moving past his psychological issues, which should be a good thing."

"But Dennis also wants Frederick to be Isabella's husband."

"What? Really?"

"Yeah! Frederick definitely argued with Ms. Beniere about this today. Frederick only has feelings for Dennis's mother, not Ms. Beniere. He suspects Ms. Beniere is behind Dennis's idea, so he's resentful. But I can't guess how they discussed Dennis's mother," Elliot remarked.

Douglas said, "What's so great about a woman who can't be found after six years! We don't even know if she's still alive!

And even if she is alive, and Frederick is lucky enough to find her, what if she already has a family? Is Frederick going to force her to get a divorce?"

Elliot nodded in agreement, "Exactly! I think Frederick should just be with Ms. Beniere. Ms. Beniere is beautiful and kind-hearted. Dennis likes her, and Frederick doesn't reject her. If they got together, it would be perfect."

"Perfect, let's do it!"

"What?"

Douglas said, "I'll call Isabella right now and have her come pick him up. While Frederick is drunk, they can just get it on."

"What?" Elliot was instantly sobered up.

Seeing Douglas actually take out his phone, he quickly stopped him, "We can't do that. Frederick will kill us when he sobers up."

"If he wants to kill us, he has to get the chance first!"

"He'll definitely get the chance. Even if we team up, we can't beat him."

Douglas looked at Elliot with disdain, saying, "If we can't beat him, we can still run, right? Are we just going to stand there and let him hit us? Moreover, his drunken misconduct is none of our concern."

"That makes some sense, but won't we be hurting Ms. Beniere? She's a good person, I don't want to hurt her."

"She hasn't been drinking. If she really doesn't want to, Frederick won't succeed! We're just giving them an opportunity, understand?"

"Yeah, I get it! But there's still a problem. Ms. Beniere doesn't have feelings for Frederick. If you call her to pick him up, she definitely won't come."

"That's true. Forget it, let's just take him to her place."

"What?"

"If she won't come to pick him up, we'll deliver him as a surprise."

After some consideration, the two decided to send Frederick over.

So, half an hour later, Isabella received a large delivery.

There was no surprise, just shock!

At this hour, Freya and Hugo, Justin, and Paul were all asleep, only Isabella was still awake.

Hearing the knock on the door, she quickly got up, threw on some clothes, and walked out of the bedroom.

"Who is it?" she asked.

Late at night, she didn't dare open the door directly but leaned against the door, looking through the peephole.

A designated driver replied, "Ms. Beniere? Your husband is drunk, and I brought him back."

Isabella was confused, inquiring, "My husband? I don't have a husband! You must have the wrong address."

"No, I confirmed the address several times. Aren't you Isabella?"

"I am Isabella."

"Then it's correct. Isn't Eric your husband?"

Eric? Dennis's dad!

The driver, afraid she wouldn't believe him, supported the unconscious Frederick so she could see his face through the peephole.

Seeing Frederick's face, Isabella was almost scared to death!

Afraid of waking Hugo, Justin, and Paul, she quickly opened the door and stepped out, closing it behind her, and spoke to the driver outside, "I know him, but he's not my husband, and he doesn't live here."

"But it was the address I got when I took the job!"

The driver thought Frederick was just drunk, and Isabella was angry and refused to acknowledge him, so he left Frederick with her and quickly left.

Isabella couldn't stop him!

Forced to accept such a large delivery in the middle of the night, Isabella was about to go crazy!

Frederick, completely drunk, leaned against her, snoring and reeking of alcohol.

Isabella pushed him away! Then Frederick fell straight to the ground.

Clearly, he was thoroughly drunk. Even after such a hard fall, he didn't open his eyes and continued snoring on the cold floor.

Isabella didn't care about him and turned to go back inside.

But soon, she came back out.

If he slept here, how would she explain it to the neighbors tomorrow?

And Hugo, Justin, and Paul had to go to school in the morning. What if they ran into him when they left?

'I definitely couldn't let him sleep here!' she thought.
