Chapter 78 Frederick, You Owe Me
Isabella was trembling, clearly pissed off. "You'll get what's coming to you! Sooner or later, you'll get it!"
Frederick's face was dark and menacing. He had saved her, and instead of being grateful, she hit him, cursed him, and even damned him! This was the second time she had slapped him.
Did she think his face was just there for her to hit whenever she felt like it? Who gave her the nerve?
Frederick figured she was just scared out of her mind by those guys. Trying to keep his cool, he said, "Don't be ungrateful. I'm saving you right now!"
"Save me? You save me?" Isabella cried, then laughed, then cried again. "Who asked you to save me? I don't need you! My life's a mess because of you! Do you think you're my hero and I should be forever grateful? You owe me, and you'll never be able to repay it!"
"Owe you? What do I owe you?"
"You owe me an apology! You can't fix what you did to my past!"
Frederick looked at her, stunned. Her words made no sense to him. He grabbed her wrist tightly. "If you want an apology and compensation, tell me what I owe you!"
"I don't need your apology or compensation! Get lost! I don't want to see you!"
Isabella turned away, refusing to look at him. She decided not to bring up the past, thinking of the kids.
Frederick pushed, "Speak! You have to explain today!"
"I have nothing to say to you!"
"Isabella!"
"Eric!"
They both shouted, staring each other down. One was furious, the other biting her lip in stubborn resentment, tears streaming down.
Elliot watched, shocked and confused. Why was Frederick getting hit after saving someone? Isabella wasn't usually unreasonable. Had he missed something? It seemed like Frederick was the one bullying her today. Good thing he came with Frederick, or he might have misunderstood the situation.
The ambulance arrived, and Elliot steadied himself and ran over. "Eric, let's get Ms. Beniere to the hospital first?"
Frederick saw the doctors and nurses rushing over, clenched his teeth, let go of Isabella's wrist, and left with a final shot, "Ungrateful!"
Isabella bit her lip, glaring at him, saying nothing.
After the doctors and nurses took Isabella away, Elliot said to Frederick, "We figured out what happened today. Susan kidnapped Isabella. We've detained Susan, and I've contacted Douglas. He should be here soon."
As soon as Elliot finished talking, Douglas rushed in. Susan was kneeling at the entrance of the abandoned building. Seeing Douglas, she looked desperate.
"Douglas, save me, please!"
Douglas glanced at her, then at Frederick. "What happened?"
Frederick, already annoyed, shot a cold glare. "Keep Susan in check! I don't want to see her again!"
His voice wasn't loud, but the anger in it was palpable. Everyone who knew Frederick could tell he was seriously pissed.
Douglas, confused, blocked Elliot and asked, "What exactly happened?"
Elliot sighed. "Susan kidnapped Isabella and hired some guys to gang-rape her. Eric had something to discuss with Isabella today. When he got to her place and couldn't reach her, he knew something was wrong. Your ex-girlfriend really knows how to stir up trouble."
Elliot glanced at Susan, shook his head, and walked away.
Frederick's anger was partly due to Isabella's slap and accusations, but the real problem started with Susan. If she hadn't pulled this stunt, Frederick and Isabella might not have argued.
Douglas turned to Susan, his expression cold. "I underestimated you. I didn't think you had the guts to do this. Was it because of that incident at the mall?"
Susan cried, "You broke up with me because of her. I was furious."
"Did I break up with you because of her? Or because you were being unreasonable?"
"Douglas."
"I'll give you a chance. Focus on the main points."
Susan quickly said, "It was Alison! She told me to do this! Alison said Isabella had castrated Glen and wanted revenge. She also said Frederick would cover for us, so I dared to do it."
"Alison?"
"Yes, I'm not lying. You can check. Please, help me!"
"Begging me is useless. You don't realize who you've offended. No one can help you now. The Brown family is done, starting today."
Susan was terrified, her pupils dilated, and she fainted.
At the hospital, Isabella underwent a full examination and was found to have only minor injuries. However, she was extremely resistant to Frederick. She couldn't even look at him. As soon as she saw him, she'd tell him to get lost and kept calling him a douchebag!
