Chapter 193 Doesn't Feel the Slap!
Frederick carried Isabella back to Dennis's ward.
The ward was a VIP suite, equipped with a professional hospital bed, a companion room, a kitchen, and a bathroom.
Frederick carefully placed her on the bed in the companion room, adjusted her pillow, and covered her with a blanket.
He then called a female doctor to check her body again.
Although Isabella wasn't a delicate flower and was much tougher than those ladies from the Valdemar family, she didn't know martial arts. In a one-against-many fight, her face remained unscathed, but she still had some bruises on her body.
The female doctor took some photos of the bruises and showed them to Frederick, whose face turned pale with anger!
He took out his phone and called Nicholas, naming a few people, "Send them abroad, today. They are never to return!"
Nicholas, already aware of the situation, tried to persuade him, "After all, they are family, Frederick. You have Valdemar blood in your veins. Besides, Ms. Beniere didn't suffer any real loss, did she? Forgive them this once."
"Forgiving them is God's business. I'll just send them to meet God. If they don't want to go abroad, they can wait to die!"
"Frederick, do you really have to be so ruthless? Just because of an outsider, you're forcing your own family to leave their homeland and never return?"
"What do you mean by 'outsider' and 'family'?" Frederick asked.
"You and your aunts share the same blood; that's family."
Frederick let out a cold, sinister laugh as he said, "In my eyes, blood is the least valuable thing! Whoever treats me and Dennis well is family; the rest are all outsiders!"
This was a belief Frederick had ingrained in him since childhood.
He didn't think blood ties were important. If they were, his parents wouldn't have died tragically in a foreign land!
Nicholas, Anna, and the other members of the Valdemar Family were related to him by blood. How did they treat him?
Elliot, Elijah, and Douglas had no blood relation to him. How did they treat him?
Elliot and the others were willing to risk their lives for him, while the Valdemar Family only wanted him dead!
In wealthy families, kinship was the least valued thing, and it was what Frederick despised the most!
Nicholas wanted to say more, but Frederick cut him off, "I'll give them one day. They can figure it out themselves! Also, everyone knows I protect my own. No one can mess with my people! Isabella is mine, so stay away from her and don't provoke me!"
After hanging up the phone, Frederick took a deep breath to calm his anger.
Once he was composed, he put away his phone and returned to Isabella's side.
He quietly sat by the bed, gently stroking her small hand, his eyes full of pain.
Why was she so foolish? She was so thin that a gust of wind could blow her away, yet she dared to get into a fight!
She knew he was at the hospital. If she was angry, she could have come to him. He would have helped her fight. Why did she have to do it herself?
Didn't her hands hurt? Didn't those bruises on her body hurt?
The more Frederick thought about it, the more his heart ached; the more he looked at her, the more he liked her.
He couldn't help but raise his hand to touch her small face, then her eyebrows and little nose, but he didn't dare touch her lips, fearing he would lose control.
The female doctor had said there was a scratch on her collarbone. Frederick lifted the corner of the blanket and pulled down her collar to take a look.
Suddenly, Isabella opened her eyes!
Frederick's hand was still on her collar, which he had pulled down a bit.
Their eyes met, each with a different expression.
Isabella, in shock, slapped his hand away and sat up with a start, raising her hand to slap him as she screamed, "What are you doing?"
The loud slap echoed in the room, and the air seemed to freeze.
Frederick remained silent.
It's okay; after all, it wasn't someone else who hit him!
Being slapped by his own woman didn't hurt, nor was it embarrassing!
After convincing himself, Frederick explained, "Don't be nervous. This is Dennis's ward. You fainted from being too emotional, so I brought you back. I didn't take advantage of you; I just wanted to check your injuries."
Isabella frowned tightly, clutching her collar defensively, her eyes full of vigilance as she looked at him.
Her current state was just like when she was fighting earlier, her nerves clearly on edge.
Frederick felt both heartache and helplessness as he said softly, "I would never hurt you. You don't need to be so tense. How are you feeling now? Is there any discomfort? Do you need me to call the doctor to check on you?"
Isabella paused for a few seconds, then frowned and asked him, "Where's Dennis?"
"Outside."
Isabella threw off the blanket, got out of bed, and hurriedly ran to see Dennis.
Dennis was still asleep. Although his condition was under control, his face was still a bit pale.
His hand also had needle marks from when he didn't cooperate during the procedure.
Isabella was heartbroken. She leaned over the bed, trembling, touching his small hand and face, tears streaming down.
This was her beloved Dennis, her cherished son, and her most pitiable child!
'Dennis, I'm sorry. Mommy is back. Mommy will never leave you again. Please wake up and look at Mommy, okay?' In her heart, she kept calling out to Dennis, crying silently, deeply saddened.
Her crying made Frederick's heart ache.
He longed to embrace her and offer comfort, to grab a tissue to wipe away her tears, but he did not dare.
Her emotions were too intense right now, and he didn't want to provoke her. He could only stand awkwardly by her side, clumsily trying to comfort her with words.
"Don't worry. Elijah said Dennis's condition is under control. He'll be fine after a nap."
"You like Dennis, and Dennis likes you. If you cry so sadly, Dennis will be sad too. Don't cry."
"Your crying makes Dennis sad, and it makes me sad too."
"Get out!" Isabella shouted suddenly.
Frederick was stunned.
Isabella, with red eyes, looked at him as she explained, "Can you let me be alone with Dennis for a while? I don't want to hear you talk and see you! I just want to quietly stay with Dennis for a while, okay?"
Frederick replied, "Okay."
Could he say no? Maybe, but he didn't dare.
"Then get out!" said Isabella.
Just like how he would snap at others, Isabella snapped at him to leave.
Outside the ward, Douglas, Elliot, and Elijah were all there. The three were gathered, chatting about Frederick's gossip! They were chatting enthusiastically!
As soon as Frederick came out, the three immediately straightened up, their smiles fading, clearing their throats, and standing up straight.
As soon as Frederick left Isabella, his aura changed immediately, becoming cold and unapproachable.
He frowned, giving the three a cold look and asking, "What are you talking about?"
Elijah and Elliot didn't dare to speak, so Douglas said, "We were talking about Isabella and Dennis. With the way Isabella treats Dennis, I wouldn't believe she's not Dennis's biological mother even if you beat me to death!"
This statement resonated deeply with Frederick.
His expression softened a bit as he uttered, "She is his mother!"
Although Isabella kept denying it and the new paternity test results weren't out yet, he had already made up his mind. It was her!
