Chapter 191 She Only Likes Children and Money!
Hugo stood beside Isabella with a furrowed brow, lending his small shoulder for her to lean on.
He comforted Isabella like a little adult, saying, "Mommy, don't doubt yourself. In our hearts, you're the best, the most excellent mommy in the world!"
Isabella hugged Hugo tightly, crying uncontrollably.
After a long while, Isabella wiped her tears and got up to find Dennis.
Hugo asked, "Mommy, are we still leaving today?"
"No, we're not! Even if we leave, I must take Dennis with us. I can't leave Dennis behind!"
Hugo nodded and asked again, "What will you do when you see Dennis?"
Isabella choked up as she said, "I want to apologize to Dennis and tell him that Mommy is back. He doesn't have to daydream anymore; Mommy will never leave him again! Also, Mommy will protect him and never allow anyone to bully or curse him again!"
Isabella might be clumsy, but she wasn't entirely incapable!
All these years in the mountains, she not only studied psychology but also worked hard to learn medicine!
She possessed the ability to heal others, yet she was equally capable of inflicting harm.
She could make medicine, and she could make poison!
No matter what the Valdemar Family members' identities were, if they dared to harm Dennis again, she wouldn't spare any of them!
Hugo actually wanted to ask about Frederick. He asked, "Then how does Mommy plan to deal with our dad? He seems to have already recognized you. Will you continue to deny it?"
Mentioning Frederick, Isabella suddenly calmed down a lot.
She didn't know what to do.
Even if she denied it now, when he came with the paternity test report, she would still be speechless.
But if she admitted it, he definitely wouldn't let her go, let alone take Dennis with her!
But she didn't want to live with him at all. She hoped to live alone with the kids, completely cutting ties with him!
She only liked kids and money now; she didn't want a man!
Isabella took a deep breath and let it out heavily. She said, "I'll think about it after I see Dennis. One day at a time! But you three must be careful, don't let him find you. If you get discovered again, I'll cry to death."
"Don't worry, Mommy. We won't let him find us."
"Okay!"
After Isabella left, Hugo frowned slightly.
Mommy still wanted to hide from Frederick, not letting him know she was the one he had been looking for.
But Frederick must have already sent for a paternity test today, and the results will be out tomorrow!
Mommy's verbal denials would be useless in front of the paternity test report.
How could he help Mommy continue to hide?
Hugo was a bit worried; this was a tricky and difficult matter.
Isabella went out and didn't see Frederick outside the door.
She didn't care where he went and picked up her phone to call Freya.
She told Freya that she wasn't leaving today and was going to see Dennis, asking her to help take care of Hugo, Justin, and Paul.
Just after giving instructions, she received a call from Elijah, "Ms. Beniere, come to the hospital quickly. Dennis is having an episode again!"
Isabella's eyes widened, and her heart jumped to her throat. She asked, "Is Dennis in the hospital?"
"Yes! He was clearly asleep, but his emotions were fluctuating greatly! It looks like a stress reaction, and we can't control his condition!"
Isabella's heart pounded as she said, "Did you see the new prescription I wrote this morning?"
"New prescription? No."
"That was prepared to prevent his stress reactions! I'll type it up and send it to you right away. Try to get Dennis to take one of the brown pills I gave you before. If he can't swallow it, crush it and mix it with water to feed him."
"Okay."
After hanging up, Isabella didn't waste a second and hailed a cab to the hospital.
She held back her grief and anxiety, quickly editing the prescription and sending it to Elijah.
After a long time without a reply from Elijah, and with traffic on the road, Isabella anxiously called Elliot.
Fortunately, Elliot answered quickly, "Ms. Beniere, Eric and I are both at the hospital, and Dennis is here too."
"I know. How is Dennis now?"
Elliot nervously said, "I'm not a doctor, so I don't really understand. I just saw Mr. Jenkins and other doctors surrounding Dennis, trying to give him medicine."
"Are you in the ward?"
"No, I'm standing outside the ward."
"Go into the ward! I'll start a video call!"
Isabella couldn't wait any longer. Dennis's condition could escalate quickly if not monitored closely!
She worried that by the time she rushed to the ward, it might be too late.
He was her Dennis, her son. She couldn't let anything happen to him!
As soon as Isabella started the video call, Elliot answered immediately, "Ms. Beniere, I'm in the ward now. What do you want to see?"
The camera moved, and Isabella saw Frederick standing by the bed with a tense and helpless expression.
He was a father, but he wasn't a doctor.
When his son was sick, all he could do was worry.
Isabella didn't want to see him. So she said, "Point the camera at Dennis."
Elliot complied, pointing the camera at the pale-faced Dennis on the bed.
Dennis was convulsing, with sweat on his forehead and his brows tightly furrowed, looking extremely uncomfortable.
Isabella's tears flowed instantly. She trembled, forcing herself to stay calm!
Roughly wiping away the tears that blurred her vision, she choked out, "Give the phone to Mr. Jenkins. He knows what I need to see."
"Okay." Elliot quickly handed the phone to Elijah.
Elijah, being a doctor, knew what was important! He showed her Dennis's eyes and the medical data.
Isabella pinched the tender flesh of her palm to force herself to stay calm, enduring immense grief as she reviewed Dennis's indicators one by one, remotely directing Elijah.
Nearly an hour had passed before Dennis's condition was stabilized.
Isabella broke out in a cold sweat, and her palm was pinched until it bled.
After ending the video call, she leaned back in her seat, panting.
The cab driver reminded her, "Miss, we've arrived at the hospital."
Isabella immediately sat up, paid, got out of the car, and hurried to see Dennis.
As she got out, the driver couldn't help but say, "Miss, you are a great doctor, so dedicated to your patient, not resting even when you're not at the hospital."
Isabella said, "He's not my patient; he's my son. I'm not a doctor; I'm his mother."
The first half of the sentence was full of pride, while the second half was full of Self-abasement.
She was Dennis's mother, an unqualified mother!
Frederick once described Isabella as a woman with more tears than sense, and it was quite accurate.
She stumbled from the hospital entrance to the inpatient department, crying all the way.
She didn't wail or make much noise; she just kept shedding tears. The tears were like broken pearls, more like a flood breaking through a dam, unstoppable!
Various images of Dennis kept flashing in her mind.
There was the weak Dennis, the pale Dennis, the frowning Dennis when he was unhappy, and the frantic Dennis during an episode.
There was also Dennis on a rainy, stormy night, refusing to go back inside because he was worried about her.
And there was Dennis from this morning, hugging her and crying, begging her not to leave.
Isabella's tears flowed endlessly, and her heart was about to break!
She felt guilty and blamed herself; the more she resented herself, the more she felt for Dennis!
At this moment, someone with no sense came to curse her, Dennis!
