Chapter 60 Is Mommy Dead?

Elijah was surprised to see her in the obstetrics and gynecology department.

"Ms. Beniere? How did you get here? What happened? Are you feeling unwell?"

"No, I came to see Albert. I happened to run into a friend just now, didn't have a chance to greet them properly before, and now that I have some time, I'm going to go see them."

"Friends? Where are they?"

"I didn't know where they went. I couldn't find them."

"What is your friend's name? I can help you ask about the situation."

"Daniel Martinez."

Elijah personally asked for help, so he must know Daniel's whereabouts. After all, he was a shareholder in this hospital.

The attending physician said, "Daniel accompanied his cousin for an abortion procedure. The fetus had issues that were not salvageable, and not terminating the pregnancy would have endangered the mother's life."

Isabella hurriedly asked, "I noticed she was already four to five months pregnant. Why was the issue with the fetus only discovered now?"

"Everything was fine before, it was only yesterday that things went wrong. The pregnant woman, who is allergic to peanuts, accidentally consumed a large amount of peanuts yesterday, putting the fetus at risk."

Isabella frowned. "Doesn't she know she's allergic to peanuts?"

"She mentioned eating something yesterday, but she didn't know it contained peanut butter, so what happened can be considered an accident."

Elijah rebuked, "This is just too careless!"

"Yes, but yesterday she came alone, and her attitude was very stubborn. Regardless, she refused to undergo the surgery and insisted on giving birth to the child. We had no choice but to contact her family afterwards. Today her family just brought her over, and she has already been admitted to the hospital. The surgery is scheduled for tomorrow morning."

Isabella asked again, "Has it always been the male family member accompanying her since she got pregnant until today?"

"No, she used to come alone before. It's only today that she brought her family along, and it was our hospital that contacted them."

Isabella said, "I got it, thank you."

Walking out of the outpatient department, Elijah asked her, "Are you familiar with that person named Daniel?"

"Yes, he was my senior in school and also the husband of my good friend."

Elijah immediately understood. "Do you suspect he did something to upset your good friend?"

The corners' of Isabella mouth twitched. "No, the relationship between my good friend and her husband was very good. I was just asking casually."

"Oh, I see."

After Isabella left, Elijah immediately contacted Frederick.

"I saw Ms. Beniere at the gynecology department just now."

Dennis had been discharged from the hospital, and Frederick was now at home.

He was originally going to the office, but his face was scratched by Isabella, so he had no choice but to work from home.

At the mention of Isabella's name, Frederick clenched his teeth in anger.

"Her life and death have nothing to do with me! Don't mention her in front of me!"

After the phone call ended, Frederick angrily threw his phone onto the table and forcefully tugged at his tie.

"I really can't control my anger whenever I hear her name!" he muttered angrily.

He couldn't focus on work, so he stood up and walked towards Dennis's room.

Dennis came back last night. He doesn't like hospitals, so as soon as he woke up, he insisted on going home.

Frederick dared not provoke him, so he had to bring him back.

Dennis was still sitting by the window.

He knew he was waiting for his mommy without needing to ask more.

Frederick felt very heartbroken. He steadied his emotions before walking over. "Dennis."

Dennis didn't turn around, not even blinking, as if he hadn't heard a word.

Frederick squatted down and said softly, "Are you hungry? Daddy will make you something to eat."

Dennis remained silent.

Frederick felt very upset in his heart and said, "Not eating will make your stomach ache. If Mommy comes back and sees you sick, she will feel very sad."

Bringing up Mommy finally elicited a response from Dennis. He turned to look at Frederick and suddenly said, "Did Mommy die?"

"Hmm? Who said that?"

Dennis didn't respond, he just stared straight at him.

At that moment, Frederick didn't know how to respond.

If he said she didn't die, Dennis would definitely ask her why she didn't come to see him. Where was she now?

If he said he was dead... He didn't want to say it, he didn't want her to die.

And if he said that, Dennis would be upset, right? He might even have been stressed out.

"I got it," Dennis suddenly said.

Frederick quickly asked, "What do you know?"

"Mommy is dead."

"Hmm???"

Dennis looked towards the door and said in a dull tone, "She must have gone to heaven. I wonder if she feels lonely there."

Upon hearing this sentence, Frederick's alarm bells rang loudly!

'Is he trying to go to heaven to be with his mommy?' Frederick thought.

Frederick sensed that something was amiss and immediately spoke in a stern tone, saying, "Dennis, don't overthink it. Your mom didn't die, she's doing just fine!"

"How do you know?"

"I found some information about her."

Frederick could only wear a heavy expression as he lied to his son.

Dennis's eyes lit up. "Really? Where is she? Why don't you bring her back right away? Or you take me to find her?"

"It's not the right time now. Let's wait a little longer."

Dennis furrowed his brow. "Are you lying to me?"

Frederick could only continue to say, "No! I do have news about her now, but because we have been apart for so long, I couldn't rush to bring her back. I was worried it might scare her."

"When can I see her?"

"We'll be able to see each other very soon."

"Tomorrow?"

"No, it's not tomorrow."

"The day after tomorrow?"

"No, not the day after tomorrow either."

Seeing Dennis frown again, Frederick said, "Let's wait until spring."

Dennis looked at him and after a while said, "Alright! I will wait until spring!"

Seeing that he believed, Frederick secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

"Then you have to be good, take care of yourself, eat well, and go to bed early."

"Okay!"

That night, Dennis behaved very obediently, finishing his dinner obediently and then going to bed.

Frederick sat by his bed, suffering from a severe headache.

"Dennis's condition is getting worse and worse. The statement he made today clearly indicates suicidal thoughts."

If Dennis believed his mommy had passed away, he would definitely go to heaven to find her!

Today Frederick managed to tell a lie, but when spring came, if Dennis still hasn't seen his mother, the consequences would be truly unimaginable.

He doesn't have much time left!

Before spring arrived, he needed to find a way to cure Dennis, even if he couldn't fully heal him, he had to stabilize Dennis's condition.

Frederick stared at Dennis for a long time before covering him with a blanket and leaving the room.

John stood at the door, asking, "Is Mr. Dennis asleep?"

"Yes, don't go in and disturb him."

"Yeah, sigh... When will Mr. Dennis get better? I see Mr. Albert from the Perry family has already recovered and can go out for dinner."

"Hmm? Albert?"

"Yes, it's all over the internet. Today, Mrs. Perry and Mr. Perry took Mr. Albert to Wavecrest Restaurant for dinner. Mr. Albert was being held by the nanny and seemed to be in a very good mood. Britney and Benson were also smiling, clearly very happy! Even George showed up."

In recent years, the Perry family had been troubled by Albert's illness, causing George to be gloomy and rarely seen in public.

In the past, many people gossiped about the Perry family behind their backs, but today, the members of the Perry family finally managed to shake off the oppressive mood.

In today's society, many people harbored jealousy and resentment towards others' success.

Because the Perry family was a wealthy and prominent family, they naturally attracted many envious individuals.

After Albert got sick, those who envied the Perry family started spreading malicious rumors.

"No matter how much money they have, their children still get sick often!"

"The Perry family must have committed serious sins in their past lives, so Albert fell ill in this lifetime. It's all retribution!"

"God is fair. They made so much money, it serves them right to cry all day!"

Some people even boldly predicted that Albert's illness would never improve in his lifetime, and that he would not live past the age of ten.
